  • Security Forces Tech School graduation at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. June 9, 2017.
    It was such an amazing experience to see these airmen officially become defenders of the United States Air Force. The long weeks and even longer days were so worth it. Thank you for choosing to serve this great country, and congratulations Team 021!

    I remember my graduation in May 1983. Back then we were Security Police. The REAL education started when I was assigned to Pope AFB NC.

    I am watching these videos and reading about air force security forces because I would like to join and talk the recruiter, I am exercising and praying that I'll pass the ASVAB test and hopefully my dad will fight through cancer so I can make him proud; plus the other reason why I would like to join the security forces so I can learn martial arts like one of my favorite martial artist Chuck Norris.

    We got a stripe after basic training so we entered AP tech school as Airman 3rd class. The first thing these rookies need to do is get those class A's tailored.

    That must have been a disappointing time for the airmen that were truly honorable to be drug down by the behaviors of a few. But, it is still the responsibility of the rest of the team/class to hold those accountable for their behaviors and make sure they receive their punishment as deemed by your superiors. There is always a few bad apples that make it disappointing for others by the immature behaviors and unfortunately will will also see this continue in civilian law enforcement and the military law enforcement. But these few still need to be held accountable and don't sacrifice the honor of the oaths you took because of them, they need to be removed.

    • @thomasryan2679
      @thomasryan2679 Рік тому +1

      We are responsible for our own behavior regardless of the actions of others. We are adults. If someone misbehaves, they cannot say they were influenced by others. Bad behavior is not prevalent in my LE agency. With 2400 sworn members, we lose about 1 clown a year do to termination.

    I got K9 right after tech school and served 4 years. Security Forces is by far the worst job in the Air Force. The required Asvab score ties with becoming a cook. We worked 12-hour tours for the same pay as everyone else working Mon x Fri, 8 hrs. Weekend and holiday work made it difficult to use the gym to prepare for PT tests or to attend college. The job was painfully boring. Guarding gates and missiles has no relation to police work. Checking ID cards is what security guards do. I never participated in an arrest or seen one conducted. I walked the perimeter of fences in arctic-cold weather while waiting for a truck to deliver a box lunch.
    The Air Force is big on volunteering. This helps earn good evaluations for promotion. Imagine volunteering at a church after a midnight, knowing you have to do another midnight in a few hours. Security Guard Forces never helped me once get appointed to a city police department. I have considerable respect for those serving but avoid this job.

      You are a Moron! I am a Former Security Policeman 6 years Active/9 years Air National Guard and I can tell you I wouldn't trade my time in the USAF Security Police for anything ...I loved it! It is what you make it. I was stationed at Dyess AFB for 3 years in the Strategic Air Command..we had a squadron of B52D's..4 Nuclear uploaded on alert at all times. We also had 3 squadron's of C-130's. I did Fly Away Security. We trained 4 times a year in ABGD at Ft. Hood Army Base against the US Army 7th Calvary Scouts. I was on one of the first EST's..Emergency Service Team's (SWAT) in the Air Force. I got to attend the FBI SWAT School and we got to put on EST demonstrations along with the Combat Control Team across the street from Security Control. I was stationed for 1 year in Turkey at a secret MUNSS site. I was the NCOIC of Arms and Equipment for the Security detachment and also the Team Leader for the RRT ( Recapture and Recovery Team) a joint Turkish american Anti-terrorist Team. When I rotated back to the World, I was assigned for 2 years at Langley AFB, VA to Headquarters Tactical Air Command. The unit I was in is the Tactical Air Command Guard...we were the Security for the CINCTAC (Commander and Chief Tactical Air Command..4 Star General). During my time in the Alabama Air National Guard I got to go to "Sliver Flag Alpha" in Indian Springs, NV, the USAF SP Desert Warfare and Survival School. It is what you make it, I did a lot of different things in the Security Police Field....AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE... except for the time I spent in a Turkish Military Prison..but that is another story!
      After leaving the USAF I was a State Trooper for 25 years (16 on SWAT Team)! I am retired now...my retirement is based on the highest 3 ($100,000.00+) of my last 10 years so I think I was qualified to do MORE than a Security Guard at Walmart.
