    Saswati sen is outstanding in this piece, especially when she was doing spins her grace was out of the world.

    @shiva4ever Perhaps this style of her's of being soft was conditioned and partly innate. As a leaf flutters in the wind with its own grace and beauty- she also offers her own radiance- in her own way, to the audience. With all her hard years of effort and commitment to the art, I believe one must appreciate that at least.

    The interviewer was Nahid Siddiqui, a UK based kathak dancer originally from Pakistan.
    She went to Pandit-ji later on in her training for more depth in her art. You can actually see it on her later videos.

    I think this interviewer is a Karachi based dancer and a disciple of Panditji.She was profiled in a New York Times article about her struggles to stage dance shows in Karachi.Brave girl.

      The interviewer is Nahid Siddiqui, originally from Lahore, Pakistan. After getting banned from dancing in her home country, she moved to UK. You can watch her work at Nahid Siddiqui Foundation.

    I want to understand what taal is played first. It sounds like dhamaar but i think it 13 beats

      a short jai taal (13) at first, then swiftly dhamar at 14 and teen taal (16, or a drut of it in 8) at last
