In any case, congratulations on your astounding harvest and amazing plants! Hemp and cannabis will always be a grassroots movement, so keep up the good work and keep sharing!
There seems to be a lot of variety when it comes to cannabis. Hemp seeds are usually smaller. Those were some of the largest hemp seeds we had seen, about 5x bigger than the average seeds by weight.
4,284 pounds of textile fiber per acre. from 1,052,182 plants?? thats a calculation from a strain bred for textile fiber production, futura 83. Since strains are bred for more and fatter seed also to get hemp seed protein and hemp seed oil. Pulled the intel from university of vermont. I dont understand the question on Biomass fuel. Since are we making charcoal, biodiesel oils or Ethanol. I'd use half to convert the other half to charcoal then run a steam engine for infinite carbon gassing and electricity.
I did not know that it is possible to have a fiber hemp plant without ANY cannabinoids. This would be a complete game changer, if this is true! What is the exact variety/strain you use?
That particular variety was called Han NE. It is a Chinese fiber variety know for growing tall. It is harvested for fiber prior to any flowering so the total cannabinoid level is almost zero at that time. We did allow for some of the field to flower and we tested it at that time. It tested at 0.3% THC and less than 1% CBD.
We had a sour diesel that grew 27 feet tall, needed a ladder to harvest it. Also for truly monster plants, start them in November in doors. These aren’t record breaking. I’ve seen bigger.
You're actually incorrect. All speciations of cannabaceae contain cannabinoids, by definition. You need to research your appeal points before you submit them to any body, even one like Guiness. It's not their fault you don't understand the botany.
Hemp plants are annual plants, so they will die every year after they flower. However they do produce seeds at the end of their life which will scatter around the plants. Those will then grow the following year.
Gone well , you should look into the fella from here in Australia he has produced a machine that collects the fibre and chops out the rest while harvesting
Absolutely wonderful work, very important to research how much carbon hemp can take from the atmosphere. It is time to bring back the plant that will save our civilisation.
They would say that at guinness while smoking a camel cigarette or cuban cigar & drinking a whiskey. Did you know that hops are used in most beers & that hops are a cousin to hemp & Cannabis?
Ya know, I cant find any evidence of it on google right now, but I coulda sworn Ive seen both on videos and IRL many marijuana/cannabis plants that are taller than 20X feet.... Like... Im talking telephone pole height. Maybe Im mis-remembering or hallucinating or some other third thing(bad perspective, mis-judged or something....) But Im very very very sure that you can get plants that are bigger than that. The trick is vegging them for multiple years. There are multiple year old plants, and..... if you kept fertilizing those, and they could be grown for years longer(dunno if your outdoor weather can support that. Some places can. Alternatively theres indoors, greenhouses, or other methods to keep them in the pocket during the worst months(including extra lighting outdoors, wind breaks, etc) IF it can get to that height in a season, it stands to reason that if it can be made to live multiple seasons, it could get bigger. Thus I suspect that perhaps Im not mis-remembering and either larger specimens arent recorded, or if they are those records arent adequately archived online
I do believe it is possible that a plant grown indoors and kept in the vegetative state could live multiple years and grow very tall. That would require artificial lights. But you would need a very tall room to house the plant. Our plant was 24' tall grown outdoors.
@@lawrenceserbin7148 Im not trying to discredit you guys! Im pretty sure theres some places though where it can grow year round and I think Ive seen some massive ones... Maybe I am misremembering or misjudging! In any case, impressive crop! Cool video and work!
@@tandava-089 Hemp is an annual crop. This means the flowering period is based upon the number of hours of light it received. It stays in vegetative stage when there are more hours of light than darkness (Spring/Summer), and then begins to flower when the amount of daylight diminishes around late summer. Flowering starts when daylight drops below 13-14 hours per day depending upon the variety. The number of hours of daylight in the tropics is usually never above or below 11.5 hours to 12.5 hours, so a plant grown there would grow about 1 foot and then flower. Some varieties are auto flowering and will begin to flower after a certain number of days regardless of the photoperiod. If a plant were to stay in its vegetative stage all year round, it would not be able to reproduce and would eventually die out.
@@lawrenceserbin7148 I think while this is true there may be some strains with genes that sort of are exceptions to this... I believe there are a few strains that tend to wait till at least 12 and maybe more hours of darkness. I know some strains are VERY sensitive to light.... perhaps this plays a role, be it ambient light, or moonlight being enough or something. Further I think there are some strains which cant flower in that period of time totally or at least so completely that they exhaust themselves and die rather than revegging afterwards. I could be mistaken, but this is just from my observations, memory, and knowledge. And, while all this is true, I do know some people have used lighting outdoors to keep plants in veg outside for a few years(although its rare if at all they grow for height) but I do swear Ive seen some somewhere tall as telephone poles.... I just cant find(evidence for) it/remember even where right now Like I said though still, impressive crop, and cool video! Have you ever considered using lighting to attempt to see how tall you can grow a specimen artificially? Idk if your into PR, but definitely wouldnt be a bad feather in the cap if you do work on seeing just how tall we can get them to grow!
Most of the hemp we harvested in late August for fiber. There were no flowers at that time. We left about 1/4 acre to go to flower. The tallest plant was measured on September 10th. At that time we could see some male flowers but no female flowers had yet formed.
Will this be the only crop grown? Hemp is an amazing plant but growing only crop year after always ends up with problems like pests and plant diseases. I realize there is a lot of pressure for farms to specialize, esp when the crop requires processing machinery. Hemp would be a great cover crop to grow before other crops, esp if it is tilled Into the soil.
Good questions. When hemp is grown for fiber it is planted between March and May, depending upon the location. It is then harvested in August. So you are looking at a total of 4-6 months in the ground. When hemp is grown for grain, it is planted between May-July depending upon the location. And it s harvested in October/November, about 3-4 months. So the rest of the time the soil could be used for other crops.
Holly vow these seeds are giant. Are they fminized or iare you producing seeds too? Looks like those would be pretty good as a good source at least for life stock.
There wasn't any floral hemp grown in the area, so this was not an issue. At that time county law required us to get signed and notarized permission from every neighbor within 500 feet of the grow. That was quite a challenge. Not every neighbor wants to be bothered. The neighbor's biggest concern was not cross pollination but strong odors. A number of floral hemp grows had been opening in the state with several news articles focusing on the strong odors they emitted. Since our hemp is grown for fiber and harvested prior to flowering, there are no odors. A number of neighbors came by to view the crop and noted the lack of any odor. Two years later the county law was rescinded and we no longer need permission from our neighbors to grow fiber hemp.
@@lawrenceserbin7148 you do realize that pollen can travel literal MILES, not just 500 feet... I'm 100% positive you ruined a few folks outdoor harvest.
@@rustyshackleford1431 Hi Rusty. Pollination has always been an issue for farmers growing floral hemp outdoors. And it's about to get much worse. If hemp seed were incorporated into just one percent of animal feed in the United States, it would require over 7 million acres to produce. In contrast, only 7,102 acres of hemp was grown outdoors for flower in 2022. And less is expected to be reported for 2023. If farmers want pure un-pollinated floral hemp, it will need to be grown indoors or in a greenhouse.
@@hemptraders5881 I understand that, it's inevitable outdoors, I was only mentioning to Lawrence that, although, he had to get permission from neighbors it still spreads much further than 500ft. So when will hemp jeans and shirts be available?
They are available now. Our company sells hemp t-shirts and hoodies. And other companies are making hemp jeans.

Those are great plants, the cannabis industry supports you ;)
Awesome! Excellent work!
Have you tried cocultures with legumes? Could help with nitrogen without the need of excessive fertilization
You don't need Guiness Book of Records. I read it once and it contains lots of nonsense. Thanks for amazing hemp video. 😊
Mendo Dope grew one bigger than that one, back in 2018. its recorded and on YT as well.
so a totally different plant grown under completely different circumstances, cool
Здоровья и УДАЧИ в вашем нелёгком деле!!!!!! ❤❤❤курите братья!!!!! Ветеран бд Андрон
Wrong variety. This is for textiles, not smoking.
Awesome! I bet that could make alot of paper and save from trees being cut down to make paper or toilet tissue.
Absolutely. That is why we are promoting hemp.
Maybe you should keep an eye on what's happening in Australia because one of our farmers has already come up with a harvester that does the harvesting and separation on site.
My great grandfather had pictures of hemp plants that looked like maple trees 20' tall (hemp for victory )
New guinea it grows WILD & taller
I don't see the report on how to grow hemp for fibre?
www.hemptraders.com/v/vspfiles/templates/Jade2/media/How%20to%20Grow%20Fiber%20Hemp%20In%20California.pdf
Umm, I mean, did anyone forget that Guiness is... Guiness? Alcohol companies have been known lobby in favor of harsher drug laws the same way the textile companies lobbied against hemp over a hundred years ago. In any case, congratulations on your astounding harvest and amazing plants! Hemp and cannabis will always be a grassroots movement, so keep up the good work and keep sharing!
That's why I was and still am in favor of the US 2018 Farm Bill. It may not be full legalization, but it's a huge step forward.
good work. The damage done by cotton can be seen from space.
Hemp seeds are always that big? Great work !
There seems to be a lot of variety when it comes to cannabis. Hemp seeds are usually smaller. Those were some of the largest hemp seeds we had seen, about 5x bigger than the average seeds by weight.
what is the yield of fiber per acre ? also the yield of oil , the yield of biomass fuel ? per acre
Wonderful,most world record of highest history...amazing,big seed👍🎉🥳
We had a sour diesel that grew 27 feet tall, needed a ladder to harvest it.
Also for truly monster plants, start them in November in doors.
These aren’t record breaking. I’ve seen bigger.
Also, industrial hemp does contain cannabinoids, hence it being used to make CBD products.
I would have to see that to believe it.
I've seen cannibis in the 20s ft tall...excavator digging truck box size holes in the ground. Lots of room for roots and nutrients. 👍
@duaneday5474 I have seen big plants. 27 foot tall sour diesel? Where are the pictures?
@@duaneday5474 1000 gallon elevated grow bags. Self mulching lasagna, organic nutrients. Crop and spread. Height is useless.
You're actually incorrect.
All speciations of cannabaceae contain cannabinoids, by definition. You need to research your appeal points before you submit them to any body, even one like Guiness. It's not their fault you don't understand the botany.
Great explanation video!
Does hemp plants spread invasively like bamboo?
Hemp plants are annual plants, so they will die every year after they flower. However they do produce seeds at the end of their life which will scatter around the plants. Those will then grow the following year.
Gone well , you should look into the fella from here in Australia he has produced a machine that collects the fibre and chops out the rest while harvesting
what happens if you dont cut it down and keep letting them grow will it become a tree?
If business picks up for me, if it's possible, I'd love to invest in your business. i am a real believer in the magnificence of this crop.
Amazing plant! I remember seeing the pictures of it a while ago, nice too get some bakgrund story to it
Absolutely wonderful work, very important to research how much carbon hemp can take from the atmosphere. It is time to bring back the plant that will save our civilisation.
This says a lot about Guinness. They aren't very significant anymore anyway. Still the coolest book around way back when I was a kid.
Which variety did you select?
This particular variety was Han NE
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
quality production. i can't wait to buy American hemp textile for true USA sourced and built clothing and gear
They would say that at guinness while smoking a camel cigarette or cuban cigar & drinking a whiskey.
Did you know that hops are used in most beers & that hops are a cousin to hemp & Cannabis?
Hemp and cannabis are the same plant, cannabis is just the Latin name for it
Ive worked on some almost as tall but yielded 10 lbs on average. Marijuana varieties obviously though
can you grow hemp as hedge plants or street trees for landscaping purposes?
Yes, but they are annual plants and would need to be replanted every year.
Ya know, I cant find any evidence of it on google right now, but I coulda sworn Ive seen both on videos and IRL many marijuana/cannabis plants that are taller than 20X feet.... Like... Im talking telephone pole height.
Maybe Im mis-remembering or hallucinating or some other third thing(bad perspective, mis-judged or something....)
But Im very very very sure that you can get plants that are bigger than that.
The trick is vegging them for multiple years.
There are multiple year old plants, and..... if you kept fertilizing those, and they could be grown for years longer(dunno if your outdoor weather can support that. Some places can. Alternatively theres indoors, greenhouses, or other methods to keep them in the pocket during the worst months(including extra lighting outdoors, wind breaks, etc)
IF it can get to that height in a season, it stands to reason that if it can be made to live multiple seasons, it could get bigger.
I just cant find(evidence for) it/remember even where right now
Like I said though still, impressive crop, and cool video!
Have you ever considered using lighting to attempt to see how tall you can grow a specimen artificially? Idk if your into PR, but definitely wouldnt be a bad feather in the cap if you do work on seeing just how tall we can get them to grow!
i don't know if you can get your hands on coffee grounds but it will help your yeld
Some of the best quality fiber there is.
congrats on the success
Did they get to flower? ❤
The seeds were not feminized. The field had both male and female plants that did not become apparent until early flowering in September.
They came to the conclusion after they already went and measure the plant, unbelievable
Congrats on your success! Hemp would’ve been right alongside corn as the staple crop of America had it not been for its ban.
mina has 3 and a half months and it is already taller than me, im 7/11 and im really impressed, i didnt expected to it becoming so tall
Bussy records! This is impressive feat and will always be amazing. Worthless award doesn't mean anything.
Did the neighbors plants get pollinated with hemp?
Sun grown is still better in my opinion even if you can perfect the environment indoors to produce phenomenal sinsemilla. The sun is free, daisy-chained LEDs and HPS is not. :P
can industrial hemp bred for fibre production and marijuana hybridise naturally? considering that they are still as closely related as wild boars and domesticated pigs
Yes,this became an issue in spanish hemp farms that were being pollinated by pollen blown in from Hashish plants grown in Morocco, Cannabis is wind pollinated like grass My species. My father also had this issue in Ontario in that a hemp farm several kilometers away pollinated his Marijuana crop
Kids dont care about Guinness Book of World Records anymore so neither does the general public tbh.. LOL
