LYRICS:
Slide into the cool mud
Underneath the pines
Somewhere to your right or left
Is my body you can find
We are swimming with no clothes on
In a river in the dark
And I am holding on to you boy
In the faint light of the stars
So you wade out across the marsh
Water up to your waist
Carry our stuff above your head
‘Til the dune comes to a crest
We are swimming with no clothes on
In a river in the dark
And I am holding on to you boy
In the faint light of the stars
But sometimes I feel it
In a dream I know I been there
We were sleeping by the ocean
We were laughing on the warm sand
We stay up all night
And we wake up in the sunlight
We got dreams we keep together
We got time to spend oh hell yeah
We are swimming with no clothes on
In a river in the dark
And I am holding on to you boy
In the faint light of the stars
We are lying
On the beach now
Everything is warm
We are staying up
Through a wild night
In the faint light
Of the headlights
Of passing cars

You’re a good teacher sir.
nice to hear that
Thank you for making this! I was trying to learn this song and I didn't expect to see Rostam actually make a video on this 🙏
Rostam, your "mandolin is an upside guitar" trick just made this instrument a breeze to grab and play, thanks!
I agree, but why not tune them like a guitar and make it easier? Don’t reverse them
Dude… thank you, I’ve been trying to find this forever, this is great
I don't even play mandolin...but now i want to! Thank you for your content Rostam! I'm a huge fan and lover of all things music.
awesome.
Man, Rostam giving so many secrets about playing
been listening to In a River the past week non stop....being practicing mandolin as well...imagine my surprise when this comes up!

Thank you!! Love this song!!
genius. would love to have you produce me and my brother’s music someday
Adore this song so much, thank you for teaching it to me. You've inspired me to start learning the mandolin, so excited!
You are my favorite composer! I’m happy to see that you’re making videos like this with nice animations. So cool, and you are so fruitful.
Can you please do more tutorials? I need one for the solo in woods. Can't find any tabs.
If a band goes out out their way to post how to play their songs, they immediately get a 5-star yelp review from me
i’ve never heard anyone compare a mandolin to an upside down guitar, mind blown haha
I love your work and have your mom's book. Have you ever considered writing any music in Persian? I think it would be amazing
What is the name of his mom's book? :)
check out the song "Wood" there is an extended solo that references classical Persian music, specifically Rast Panjgah

@@musicROSTAM thank you! I love the song too. I really dig those cultural influences as it gives it a more personal touch. Such a gorgeous and poetic song.
So excited for the new album! I must ask if there is even a slight possibility of a follow-up to Discovery LP. It is my favorite album of all time!
hey rostam, i saw u perform at the appel room back in feb 2019 - you played some classical instrumental/cello pieces that were beautiful. i know u said u changephobia doesn't have cello on it but would you ever release recordings of your string compositions maybe as a stand alone thing?
Is it weird that I watched this and don’t even own a mandolin?
well now i really regret not playing the mandolin for the last 9 years.....
