Dave Gallant dives into the new 'Asia In Asia: Live at the Budokan, Tokyo, 1983' deluxe box set! Includes: 2LP colour vinyl, 2xCD (MTV satellite broadcast concert and previous night), remixed audio, unreleased tracks, 40 page 12” book with new band quotes, Blu-ray concert video, printed memorabilia and ‘Asia' pin badge.
Dave Gallant is a legend and a flame that kept the soul of Asia burning forever - Armada will never be forgotten…kudos to you Dave!
Dave! Great to see you. I recently “unboxed” my copy of your The Heat Goes On book after 20 years while wondering whatever happened to Dave G…and here you are! Armada Forever!
Here from the old Armada. Incredible days.
As a die hard ASIA fan it is terribly disappointing to see something this significant without JOHN WETTON!!!!!!
I'll never forget being so confused at the time why Greg Lake was leading for this. I knew who Lake was from ELP and respected him, but I wondered what the hell he was doing there. Years and years later did we find out what happened. I only wished Wetton could've handled the high wave better at the time. Oh well, at least we know they all made amends years later
great Box Set. Hold it in my hands since today and I love this show from 83, which I had only on VHS Cassette and sold it later for good money. Now this show is in best possible way caught on CD, BluRay and Vinyl added with a lot of memorablia and a fat booklet. Love it all over and memories coming up 40 years later
Hi .. Mr Dave this is Good Music Collection. I like THE ASIA .. by ESP'70 .... 🤟🇮🇩👍
Dave, great to see you, I loved what you did for Asia
Hi Dave. I am an absolutely Asia fanatic. Were a precious part of my youth and still a significant landmark in my present. Happy they curated this special period with such care. Counting the days until it arrives in my mailbox. Thank you for an exquisite unboxing. Congratulations on your work done for this snd other released items from Asia.
The new Roger Dean artwork looks more like a Yes album cover than one of 1980s era Asia.
Great video Dave. Thanks very much.
Dave! Great to see you. I’m a former ArmadA member till the end and still have my Aurora you sold me. Managed to get it signed by the orig 4.
Asia Armada forever! Still have my VIP laminate 😊
Dear, Dave. It is great to hear from you. I have just ordered my copy of Asia in Asia box set, looking forward reading your notes.
Major disappointment that the Road To Budokan documentary is not included on the Blue-ray. I was assured it was, so that is a big bummer. Otherwise it is a smashing box set. Love it.
One of the reasons I bought as well. Bummed it wasn’t included
Love it, what a top shots. :))
I am about to place my order after viewing this excellent unboxing.
This will be a nice upgrade from my Laserdisc copy that I have had for years.
Glad to see that it will finally get a well deserved Official release....!!
Awesome !!❤✌
Hi Dave, it's been years. I have an old bootleg of that concert and it has daylight on it. The list has cutting it fine also but it doesn't play.
Oh man, glad to see you are in one piece! Dave kept the Asia fan base activated during the '90s and early '00s. Some time ago I read of another Canadian Dave Gallant who had tragically passed away in the US and no one in the FB forums had any idea. Be well, Dave!
Let's be clear here. While Greg Lake did do a good job as the bands' temporary lead singer on short notice, no one could replace John Wetton and his wonderful voice. This would've been much better with the original 4 members. Great job on the presentation Dave and to BMG on the material.
I'm on my second box, which I still returned to the store, and now I'm waiting for the third! The vinyls are warped. There is no quality control in this factory in Poland? unbelievable.
They were scheduled to play the Assembly Hall in Champaign, and I was able to snag 16th row center tickets. Shortly thereafter, MTV got ahold of them and put together that promotion. Guess which show they scheduled it over? 🤬🤬 It was ultimately cancelled and yeah, I've kinda never gotten over it.
Very good intro to the box set. Wondering what the sizes of the two mini posters are? Thank you in advance.
Belleza!!
Hi Dave, I have the Box Set but would like to get, in DVD or Video format, Ken Ceizler documentary for Asia in Asia called "Asia: The Road to Budokan" in 1983? Can you help me find where to get it?
What happened to the “Road to Budokan” doc that is listed on the photos on Amazon’s site? Did the guys change their mind as it may have been seen as too negative toward John?
I knew him when…
I am only aware of the one show they performed that was televised by MTV at the time. Was there more than one show? Multiple evenings in one venue or multiple cities within Japan?
they did a few shows at the budokan and one at osaka
Six shows .
@@lavallee1963 the newest boxest says 4 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This box set is a real insult towards John Wetton, without whom Asia would never have existed. It is the voice of ASIA, nothing more. Sorry but as a french fan since the beginning of the band, I will not buy this box!!!
