Those views thru out all the seasons will be/are totally priceless. They respected the “ old” such as in the back half and the front half is totally appropriate for the present and the future. There’s nothing “ ugly” when watching the North Atlantic seasons from your sitting rooms.A 5 star hotel can’t delivers views as such and the serenity of having a cup of tea, watching the waves along the shoreline and seeing a sailboat off in the distance. You did well, enjoy the rhythm and peace that your home delivers and offers your children as well.
OMG...the views from those windows. It is beautiful. Yes, it was painful at times, desperate at others...but you did it!!! 🎉🎉 And I was shocked to see that Kevin...the original "Twerker", putting in the hay bales. 🕺🏼Wishing Michael, Michele, Rudi, and Anna a wonderful and happy life in their home. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Lol, it cost way more than £250K - they didn't include his labor nor the cost of the land, nor the extra years of rent while waiting 3 years to complete the silly home. After interest from the mortgage, they'd likely needed ~£500K just to break even. And that is in 2015 money, not 2024...
If you approach this house on Google Maps Street View the same as Kevin did at the end of the ep in his car, you jump from the new house to the old forge. So weird.
@@toodlesoops7761 Why would you immediately jump in with "envious?" That's so weird. I think it's ugly too. I've seen builds that I envy, but this is not one of them.

Fantastic Build. Whatta view! I simply adore the old forge stone walls.
Glad this dream came true.✨
I actually love this build. I'm not a realtor, but I would wager it would cost well over $250K to buy this home today. Nicely done.

@@ArthurDentZaphodBeeb You're right. Especially the cost of land which is outrageous in UK.
It's a beautiful house, not to my taste, but it's their home. I love this show, I just wish they did episodes on more traditional designs.

How about a 9-10yr followup? HMMMMMMMMM??? ;)
It's usually some version of bankruptcy/divorce when these builds go so woefully over budget and time.
Typical clueless architect. Smdh.
Its an ugly house. I see what they were aiming for but it looks like two mismatched buildings slammed together.
wow, envious a little? I think it is stunning - combining old and new is phenomenal -
