In my opinion, Death & Co. is an exceptionally tremendous book, but Cocktail Codex is the King of all. The method used to remember any classic using 6 fundamental drinks was brilliant and it totally worked for me. Constantly reviewing the cocktail branch page of every chapter continues to be vital in the memorization and recognition of any cocktail.
The first Death & Co book opened up a dangerous hobby for me. The professional attitude to quality in that book, where the cavalcade of specific brands of spirits and types of ingredients called for is presented as "this way or no way", can make it very difficult to not buy something you recognise from the book if you see it for a good price.
The Smuggler's Cove book ruined me for rum and tiki cocktails, and "Welcome Home", book #3 from Death & Co, ruined me for the rest of the cocktail word. I have so many syrups and infusions that I would have otherwise never made if not for that book. And I definitely grew a greater appreciation for classic style cocktails. I never thought I would need six bottles of Sherry in my arsenal, but here we are.
Always enjoying your show. Thank you for that. I am leaving this comment because I have a request.LoL I want see you talking about Berentzen. I have good memories with it LoL

I hear that. It was the Rouge Cocktail for me. That took me down a deep rabbit hole of spirits and recipes.

"Don't try to make every drink in the Death & Co. book."

Glad I was able to go to Death and Co Denver in February before everything started sucking. 😂
It's going to be a different world on the other side of this pandemic. We'll survive but it's going to be different.
should hire a better videographer. "A" cam is out of focus.
I wish I could afford crew. Just a one man band here who can't focus.
