Awesome! Thank you! Am trying to format my ebook on my MACBOOK Air with Word! Tried KDP and screamed! Argh! Vellum sounds perfect! Thank you for the well explained video tutorial!
Thank you, Claire! Your video has been very helpful. This is my first time using Vellum. You have done a great job explaining what I need to know. All the best. Shalom shalom
First time I am here. Thanks for this tutorial. I needed it in order to make my mind on buying or not Vellum and you bought me into it. By the way, I love to see you are passionate about writing and publishing! I subscribed to your channel. Greetings from Costa Rica!
I’m glad I found you. You have a lot of books. Do you advertise your books through face book or emails like MailerLite. How do you get your books to be seen by the public? I am now trying to learn vellum through their tutorial. Haven’t bought real program yet. Sample program. Had to buy Mac too. Learning to use it. Any thoughts, help you can share will be appreciated. Just saying pictures in books cost money to Amazon is worth knowing. I see your example book is over 100,000 words. How many pages is that. Does vellum # pages? How many pages is 100,000 words? Is it good to write books of that length? Thank you. You are inspiring. You’re young. I’m 80+ still learning and tackling new things.
@@WritewithClaireFraiseI have a question I already wrote my book in word document but I don’t know how to format my book so once I pay the $249 then I upload my manuscript would it audio format the manuscript for me ?
This was great, thanks, Claire! One question, though, you mentioned how you checked all of your YA novels to see what size they were. I'm assuming it was 5.5 x 8.5?
This was really enlightening, thank you. One thing I cannot find anywhere online, is whether or not Vellum allows you to set text into two columns on a single page. Do you know if that's possible?
Thanks Claire. This was useful. I have a Mac, so can use Vellum potentially. But the cost is very off-putting. Hence looking also at Atticus, which is way cheaper. But watching your video and Atticus videos, I did get that vibe that Vellum is nicer to use. Have you tested out Atticus at all?
Hi!! Do you or anyone else knows if there is a way to set Vellum so I can scroll through the chapters? It’s so annoying not being able to read everything in a continuous way, specially for editing.
Thanks - I have 5 short stories I am going to publish I am not a tech geek, my spacing and margins etc are all different in the stories, Can I correct this in Vellum? I'm ready to purchase this but that is my only concern.
Vellum will make all the spacing and margins uniform across your book. As soon as you upload your book, it will put everything in the right font and have the margins be uniform automatically (which is what I love about Vellum--it was driving me crazy trying to get everything uniform on Word)
format just means Everything is in the same style, like the same headings, same subheadings styles. FORMATTING PICTURES just means the same size pictures with same borders and size, but if using bleed, meaning that you want pictures to the edges of the paper, just leave it in the safe marginal space. Don't forget to press the "search again" to update the table of contents each time you make a change. I went through hell figuring this out. Tip: just persist.

Thank you for sharing Claire! You made it very clear and straightforward. Well done!
Ur videos always help, I feel like whenever I'm in a writing slump I can watch your videos and write for years.
I'm so glad!!
Thanks I got a lot out of this. I am just going to start doing short fiction so this was so helpful
You probably showed more help to viewers interested in learning than others

That was an excellent video. I didn't realize Vellum had the text bubbles. That is so awesome.
Great!
This helped so much, thank you!

thank you would love to see how to use a full picture for the books (for full bleed pictures or chapter art)

Vellum is the BEST!

Write the company an email. They will answer you with instructions.

I have Atticus and I don’t like it. I’ve decided to go ahead and buy vellum after watching this video-it looks easier to use

ah, its only for macs... disappointing
I'm struggling to open a new book document
I'm sorry but you didn't show me how you got to this screen. You skipped steps. I'm an absolute beginner. How dony9u open a new book? Where do you go?
Oops -- sorry about that! You click "Import Word File" on the left side of the home window and select a Word document you want to import
