NO ONE succeeds solely on their own. Just VERY rare for people to acknowledge that fact. This young man is setting an example of what EVERYONE should do!
Now there is a young man who was raised right....and actually listened and took to heart his parents and grandparents teachings. We need more Riley Leonard's in this world.
Riley Leonard is from the small south Alabama city of Fairhope Alabama. It's a very small quite City that sits in the east border of Mobile Bay. The residents are mostly middle class and some are wealthy with summer homes there. He is a spiritual kid with deep faith in Christianity. His southern roots and humble beginnings has molded him into a fine young man.
More power to him & as great as this is, it's going to get messy. Once he starts with the handouts, everyone on the offense whether starting or not will put their hand out. And if they don't get paid then what. Next if anyone else is getting a NIL deal on the offense or defense, then they'll be questioned as to why they aren't sharing too. I can see applying the axiom No Good Deed Goes Unpunished. This will be a challenge for coaches.
Good for him! I'm glad one of these athletes is thinking of others. I, however, think this whole NIL process is a joke, and its going to ruin college athletics. I can see getting some money for play in order to survive, but some of these unproven kids are making more money than professional athletes, its a complete an utter joke! There is no loyalty, transfer to wherever and whenever you want, its pathetic.
That shows character .....no matter who drivin maybachs and who in the spotlight thats gods light right there..actions make character...no gold chains no rap songs lets his actions speak
Other QBs have been doing this. Nothing unique. He seems like a nice kid but you got other QBs buying the whole offense gifts, vacations etc. Good on him though. Wish him all the success
Ok, he isn’t sharing his money with them. His deal included a deal for teammates as well. Very nice he did that but this is also how players go broke giving to friends and family. I don’t know him or his talents so not sure if he’ll be drafted but if so I’d be careful with the generosity to an extent
This is not college football. It is now professional football. Imagine a Dan Marino a Lawrence Taylor. It’s a joke today. You have kids going to college struggling to pay bills and maybe a great student but get nothing. Separate these take yes from the college platform.
I think the title and the gist of the Today message is misleading. So he had an NIL offer and to agree to the offer, he asked for his offensive line to get a deal, too. That's different than him getting money, then distributing it to teammates.
Great story. Coach prime and his kids should take note. This kid isn't a fake christian. He doesn't spend his money on rolexes and Ferraris. He gives to people that help him
I'll take this story at face value and have no reason to believe that Riley Leonard is as kind and humble as this story portrays... however the "greatness" of ND is a tough sell after reading an article several years ago explaining that the school spent $250,000 to develop paint for the helmets that was an exact match to the dome. Notre Dame's hubris is what holds them back. That said, I do believe that Marcus Freeman exhibits the humility and humbleness to get them past what holds them back.
Riley make a million and got a company to give $10,000 to his entire offensive line. He can afford it and he does not have to pay taxes on that 10k. Not worth a four minute TV news story.
You are correct they all were doing it unfortunately some get caught some don’t I just don’t like it at all now. Teams are gonna go out and buy a national championship. There is no working for it no more! I’m not good enough to play here. I’m gonna transfer how much are you gonna give me and I’ll come play for you. I coached high school sports for 35 years never went to anyone and asked them to play for me,never!
Thank you Jesus for the gift of life and Blessings upon me and my family.43k weekly profit, Our lord Jesus have lifted up my Life!!!All thanks to Mrs Kathy Lien..
Most overrated team every year. They play nobody, get national recognition and don’t play in a championship game because they are too scared to play a real SEC or big 10 team.
What a gracious, wholesome, and grateful young man. Hope he goes far
NO ONE succeeds solely on their own. Just VERY rare for people to acknowledge that fact. This young man is setting an example of what EVERYONE should do!
What a great young Man☘️☘️☘️
Gonna miss ya Riley. Thanks for a generational season
Now there is a young man who was raised right....and actually listened and took to heart his parents and grandparents teachings. We need more Riley Leonard's in this world.
ND just got my support for bowl game and rest of season.
Lead by example young man! Well done.

That is a great teammate and a natural leader.😊
Wisdom beyond his years!! Good for you lesson for all of us… No one does it alone
Riley is an awesome player so is Aamil.
Pure Notre Dame. This should surprise no one
These are the people who literally made shirts saying Catholics vs Convicts..... Miss me please
God bless this young man. This country needs more serious men like him.
He's a Poor man's Eric Crouch. I have to admit, after the NIU game I had serious doubts with Riley Leonard. I'm glad he proved me wrong.
Good young man
They are both great young men.
Class act
God bless you brother. Your faith speaks volumes to me.
What a great Grandfather!
Great Job Mom & Dad!!
Riley and j love are my favorite players rn. Cant wait to see them in the league !
We are here for one purpose, helping one another 😊🙏
Smart kid. Sam Hartman started this new tradition in the NIL era.
Dang it, now I have to cheer for Notre Dame
Win this thing ND!!!!!
Video starts and I Instantly thinks i’m watching an old video from the 2000’s.
A Real One 😎💯
I don’t like ND, but this is a class act. Good on you young man
Dude's a baller too. Great to see this
This young man is an inspiration. He represents ND very well.
I became a Riley Leonard fan when he asked his Duke professor for an extension on a paper on national TV.
What a great guy!
Shane is stoked rn

Good job !!! Brock bowers did the same thing!! These are good kids
So cool...... I wish him well....Goooooooo! IRISH!!!!!!! 🍀
Make a difference! Go Irish! 🍀
Quality Leader 🏈
Thats nice but now all those guys are going to expect it every time they get a player with a high NIL.
Wow! You don't see this very often in sports these days!
Riley is only valued at 1.1 mill with his NIL deals. He’s making significantly less then some of the other NIL players , like arch manning …
This is what you get with great parenting.
The kid from 'A Christmas Story' is turning out to be a great young man!
Since ND is a Catholic school im sure they got their 10 percent.
Beautiful. Keep God first. God's Love and Blessings 💜 ✝️ 🙌.
Classy young man! Go Irish ☘️
Go Irish. Faith and football are all glorified through players, coaches, and students.
As they should!

This will have some income tax implications!
Grandpa got GAME………evidently.
….or money!
Bank all the money 15% interest, buy everyone a Rolex and still have the cash.
Quasimodo predicted all of this.

Great video! Until All Roker showed up at the end. W*F? Shut up.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!

Paying players has destroyed NCAA football
All you got to do is buy your team
Watch the Giants draft him. He’s basically Daniel Jones. 😅
Great story. Coach prime and his kids should take note. This kid isn't a fake christian. He doesn't spend his money on rolexes and Ferraris. He gives to people that help him

Bless your heart.🤦♂️
Buy them a Rolex do the same thing.
warrior, every other play is qb run up the gut against georgia, penn state, warrior
It’s all JESUS he shines through them that trust in him
NIL Is A Joke It Is Ruining College Athletics , He Deserves Nothing Period , No One Paid My Dads Tuition To USC He Had Too , Stop This Nonsense
Wish i was like him at 22-great kid.
Shouldn’t be paid! Ruined college football!
What did he share?
Right along with legalized gambling and the transfer portal…
They were getting paid anyway.

That's a major turn around. Praise be to Jesus our Lord. Hallelujah
Most overrated team every year. They play nobody, get national recognition and don’t play in a championship game because they are too scared to play a real SEC or big 10 team.
Started the season beating an SEC team, finnished the season beating a big 10 team....
I can season all my fries with this much salt.
@@stevenlumpkin4296 - you mean this much truth
@@andrewp4220 no definitely salt
I must have just dreamed they played ohio state the last two yrs
Caleb Williams didn't share a single red cent.
Would you if your team sucked and lost alot of games in a row
