Anything you can do in a completely overcast day without a portrait subject? It's grey cloud everywhere today, it's 30 minutes to sunset and there are no colours in the sky at all
EXCELLENT! For wildlife photos, the "catch light" in the subject's eyes is important. Sometimes by changing the photographer position slightly, that "catch light" can be captured at eye-level in the animal's eyes.
Would be interesting to have your thoughts on the following: I’ve been photo-ing for many years, basically shooting anything and everything that looks interesting. I’ve moved up through the ranks of cameras and have a large selection on lenses, probably mora than most. But I rely on the lenses a lot as I’m in a wheelchair. I can’t move around as well as most to get the best position/angle/depth so I have to rely on the most suitable lens length to get what I want, or at least near what I want. Now I often miss the perspective I’m after, -having to rely on a flatter look with a longer lens-, but at least I get a picture. I’d be happy to shoot with a shorter length and crop, but I don’t have any cameras above 25MP, so that can be limiting. Ideas?
I once made a nice photo using the built in posterise art filter in my Olympus Pen F, by playing with the colour temperature to change the background from a dull cream-brown colour to a pale blue. This was all done in camera. Understanding how to play with colour temperature can sometimes be very useful on occasion.
Forgot my camera in the car, but got back 200meters to fetch it, made my way up the mountain, only to discover there's no battery in it, 10minutes later. So got back to the car once again. Then, on top of the mountain, oh f..k, there's no SD card in it. From that day on, I take one extra battery and one extra SD card in my day pack and in my photography backpack.
sir does in rolling shutter some sensor capture row at same moment and even some camera capture 2 rows at same moment and some from left to right so it all depend on sensor am I right sir ? Thanks sir
It's true 'Photography is the Art of capturing Light' and you cover many factors of this process - but please lighten up on the Salesman technique if you want to increase your viewer numbers. You do talk good sense, but refinement required.
What planet areyou on, exactly? Literally EVERY Earth-resident youtube photog talks or yells about “light”. If you really want to push yourself, work out how to get captivating photos in “poor” light, rather than just going for the boring low hanging fruit.
Hey David, I checked out your portfolio and you have some lovely images. This video (and all our content) is made for beginners. I’ve only been shooting for 18 months and so capturing the low hanging fruit is still important to me. There are probably other channels that are more suited to your skill level.

You can work around bad lighting, you cannot work around bad composition.
Learn to compose your shots and you can shoot under any scenario.

bad light is very challenging till I nail it and now I I find harsh light is so easy to capture
Create your own light carry a powerful flash that you can use off camera
You can tell that shirt was chosen by a photographer, not a single line out of place!
Good advice thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
You are so right
Glad you agree. Thanks for leaving a comment.

Why use the American spelling “Color”? It’s Colour.. annoying 🙂
I know, I know. I standardised years ago in my other business at Salesman.com to use the US spelling for things and it’s now just how the team works.
