This podcast about your grandfather truly touched me. My family is in the mist of grieving my great uncle and great aunt who were the kindest people with the biggest hearts. For the last 6 months we have watched my uncle decline in health. My 81 year old aunt took care of him until the end and she did an amazing job. After he passed her health declined rapidly. Doctor said literally she was dying of a broken heart as they were together for 60 years. She had the last 3 months in and out of the hospital and most recently a rehab facility and we were hoping to get her home and then last week she gave up. They are together now and that gives us all peace but we are heartbroken they are gone. I’m going to take your advice and start asking my dad questions and videoing them because their past is important to know and it’s comforting to have that to go back to and also for my daughter to have. God bless your beautiful family.
I agree Mallory, such a sad dying breed, my father was exactly the same way, we lost him to Covid and our family has never recovered and has not been the same, he was our glue, my siblings, especially my sister and I, no matter how hard we try, we just cannot get the family back to the way things were. This makes me so happy that you are able to keep everyone together. I pray we get it back
Thank you for sharing, I lost my grandmother just this week. I watched this episode when it aired and now it’s even more poignant. I do hope to see you in the Nashville area I work there and hope you have more events for your fans and subscribers. Your messages are very deep and inspiring, much love to you and yours ❤
Being from Union County Ky and knowing the Ervin’s whether it’s through this family’s legacy is insurmountable. Such a wonderful family to claim as one of our own 💙
So thankful for your family legacy podcasts for encouragement to keep going and wanting the same for my family! So encouraging and full of wisdom from these amazing family members and I don’t have that in my own life and it’s so inspirational to see!
I love your family stories, thank you for sharing yours. God Bless ❤ My Gpa was and still is my hero that i lost at the age of 3. I still treasure those memories 😔Becca G
Thank you for the beautiful story of your Papa. What a great life he lived. I only wish my family could have been that close. I was so excited to hear about Lafayette. I was born and raised and continue to live in Lafayette, La. I had no idea that your Papa started his grocery store employment here
I lost my Dad to cancer and realized how much I missed his voice and his stories. So I'm doing Storyworth with my Mom now. Instead of having the questions emailed to her, I have her over to my home, pour us a glass of wine, and turn on my iPhone to record. I then transcribe that into Storyworth for the book. But I have those recordings and now I may just turn on the video for our next get-together. Mallory and her Dad are right, capture the stories, and now that we have the technology get a video or a recording. It's a treasure
Thank you for sharing your dad on this special podcast regarding your grandfather and his legacy😢❤ he sounds like he was truly incredible human being and just by you sharing him in the past with all of us on social media I could tell what a big heart he had what a gentle soul he was😊 your dad looks so much like him and you can tell that you all are very close to all of your family members and your grandfather taught you guys extremely well and I’m so sorry he went through all the hardships in his life, but it made him an amazing human being,❤ this brought tears to my eyes, especially with all the loss that he had 😢 and you are so 1,000,000% right when you say that they are a generation that is slipping away slowly and we will never have a generation like our grandparents and our parents. They are definitely going extinct and this world will not be the same without them.
