Can't believe that this game uses purely software renderer and still achieve full speed. The game has lots of details for things back in the day.

It's impressive but I doubt it ran at this framerate back then lol

@@AnonymousV4 For this video i used 640x480 screen settings, but there is also 320x240 option available. And as i remember from childhood 320x240 was mainly used, because of drastically framerate impact, so yea

@@AnonymousV4 At the standpoint of most people back in the day can enjoy 24 FPS and considered it a 'full speed', it's pretty hard to deny that it's impressive.

"Full speed" is relative, IMO it ran like shit compared to arcade racers (although even that was impressive to see on a PC back then). Screamer 2 later supported 3DFX acceleration with a patch, which was a revelation.

@@NeovanGoth Arcade machines are no contest compared to generic PC. It's totally understandable if you gonna compare the machine with generic PC than runs around 18 - 24 FPS compared to consistent 30 or 60 FPS on arcades.

Damn, I never seen this before, I would of loved this when I was younger and it would of run well on my families 300mhz beast, I was busy playing Need for Speed at that point.

That's all cpu rendered right - that's some demo scene level of cg coolness

I'm guessing you switch to cockpit view on that one track with the crane to avoid crashing in high resolution? Had no idea that works, good to know. I always just went back to low res for that one.

Yes, i didn't find another way to avoid crashes on that race in hi-res. Also i thought it could be informative to show how game played on cockpit view.

      Disk Operating System

Shortened from Disk Operating System, an operating system prior to Windows (well, olden age of Windows needs DOS for their essential interactions with hardware). It is command-line based, and is very powerful for file management back in the day, since the machine is designed for doing serious business and they need lots of files.
