Hey, I will try to keep this short. Try.. 2010 I had brain tumor/cancer. I got disability they kept denying me but when they gave it to me they gave me insur and sent a 8000 dollar check for all the time I waited I had to try to get it again they sent a 6000 check then I tried again they denied it and I got tired of waiting and tried to work b/c I was depressed had no money to do things I was living with my mom. I worked against drs orders and I got a job for almost a month and they “let me go” I couldn’t cut it I tried but I wasn’t exactly able to hold information so I got another job worked two years it was a lot on me but I was happy to be doing everything my drs said I wouldn’t do. I got another job and it was a lot on me but I didn’t believe in disability to have cancer brain tumor hydrocephalus they denied me. But I started getting sick headaches dizzy spells. Left that job got another still having issues doing the job but I got to work I felt like and I started having multiple seizures at home work in my sleep. So dr said I can not work wrote a letter to my job and that was the last time I worked last year. Filed for disability again I really had no choice. I had a stroke feb 4th which is the day I went to sign papers for disability to start left there straight to hospital. My speech is bad I been in speech therapy I had a feeding tube peg in my stomach had it removed 3weeks ago. Speech still bad. I like miss step sometimes get dizzy can’t walk straight but I’m trying to get a place because they don’t pay me much so I need it. I asked the ppl at the disability place for help and they said they didn’t know I’d have to find that out so I don’t know where to start how it works I’m lost and today I ran across your vid so I’m trying my luck. If its housing your looking for calling 211 or 311 to get a housing interview with a local COC.If this is about disability check from Social security you would have speak with lawyer.Im unclear on what you need.

You actually would do well with both a COC and HUD ,I think aCOC would produce housing my faster at 30-45 days but you will need to all the right things and ace there assessment test .

I just tried once and I’m back in it again and I’m not trying to kill myself just so I’m not on disability although I hate it. Thank you so much you gave me direction.
Thank you for your service. I helped a younger woman with a mental disability. The City took her only home and condemned it. So I took her to the Housing Authority to help her get Section 8. They interviewed her and gave a lead to Grace Properties here in the city and she was placed into a brand new apartment run by them. It had everything I needed frankly. A walk-in-shower stall instead of a Tub which I have and cannot get into. They have a 5 year waiting list now and I should have taken one of those apartments too but I was in a lease and couldn't. This is my problem. I can no longer walk and have special needs like a walk-in shower instead of a bath tub which I cannot get into and out of without injury. Presently I have trying to live with what I have. I really appreciate your information.

I'm not even an addict, I'm just completely without support or any help, and they EXPLOIT that, these are people who have a professional and ethical obligation, and are FRIGGIN PAID to aid extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people, who use their position of power and authority to psychologically torture and abuse the least deserving individuals, the ones they literally allege to serve and provide assistance to. It's SICKENING. Your video is a sobering (pun intended this time =] ) reminder of who the real criminals are, and that I do in fact have options to fight back against these bullies who appear to be doing everything they possibly can to push me off the edge and deny services, for whatever reason, their own prejudices, ignorance, and discrimination, as if their opinion means a damn thing, when there are LAWS in place to protect us!!! Waiting list just opened last October, hasn’t been open in yrs. I signed up, it still says up to 6 yrs waiting. I’m disabled homeless, can’t even find a camper or trailer I can afford that’s livable and a safe place to put one. Ever since the wildfires, housing here in northern ca is horrible 😔. I have documentation for me and my kids but every landlord had denied me because of an eviction on my record. My landlord went to sue me for unpaid rent and i took my landlord to court because they wouldn't let me out of my lease because they would do repairs of my unit when i moved in my apartment wasn't remoled at all because when the landlord told me that my key was going to be in the mailbox after 5 it was becoming cold and i told my cousin to see if he can found the heat thermostat so i can turn it on and she didn't even tell me that there wasn't going to be baseboard heat. So when i moved in there wasn't any heat and i had more roaches
Good Evening, really have been enjoying your videos (Although, for the past two years I've had nothing but problems finding housing of any sort!) I'm almost 65 and therefore qualify as a disabled (electric wheelchair) senior, I'm on SSDI, diagnosis of severe PTSD, Parkinson's disease and Peripheral Neuropathy; also, Sleep Apnea! I have two support felines (both of whom are documented by my physician). To date, I've been turned down for more housing that you can throw into the fire. I think the thing about certain ages may have come from certain rules for other benefits like disabled adult child similar ones that are for SSD and SSDI. There are so many different rules in those programs it is hard to know them all. They are the sort of things I would have to lookup myself since they sometimes even change or there may be a new one.
Maryland literally sucks I contacted HUd and they said they don’t have direct housing so what am I supposed to do HOC waiting list I been on for 3 years

So for my employer who's giving me a hard time about taking off work due to disabilities some of which you listed above, Why do i feel like i have to explain into great detail to my own doctor? Like .... I have been being treated by a psychiatrist for a long time... I've never held a job for longer than a year... I'm trying to change that but it's just not working... Why are section 8 wait lists so long??? I haven't even re-applied yet since the last time i applied they took YEARS to call me with an opening and by that time.... They couldn't get ahold of me and the case was closed!!! It's a joke.

NY. State i'm disabled and applied for lease housing and are currently 105 on the waiting list that was almost 2 years ago i was told that they are doing it by a lottery after being one of the first to apply when they opened the list.
6 years ago, i filled out an application for section 8 for myself. I am legally blind, and Diabetic. So, when my time came, i was denied because they wanted my adult kids information. My kids didn't want to give their information up. Cause they not going to be living with me in a 1 bedroom. The section 8 was for me. So, why they wanted their info? Just to be nosey?

Tax credit apartment complexes say you have to earn 11,000 or up to qualify! What person on Ssi gets that? No one! Its discrimination, why give these people tax breaks if they dont help the people who need it? Its just above what they get. Just enough to weed the Disabled out! Its disgusting. If they make enough monthly to pay the rent then that should be sufficient!
Several housing developments in Rockland & Orange county NY ... Theyre low income tax credit yet require a minimum of 11,000 dollars though most want more annually to get in. Very unfair...

My name came up for a 2 bedroom. It's subsidized apartment building but the apartment manager is making me jump thru hoops Im on disability. She asked for proof i have custody of my own child for 16 years wanted a court order cuz she said the estrAnged father could walk in and claim same thing. So i found a court order from 2016 and brought it to her THEN SHE said she needed MORE PROOF cuz I could be trying to sneak him in. WTF!!!!! So I brought her my last 2 tax returns. She has ALL THE OTHER PROOF SHE NEEDS AND I WONDER IF IM BEING DISCRIMINATED against cuz of my daughters father ( who btw in 16 yrs only met her when she was born)

First of all thank you for the info quick question if I work but I have a a problem where I pee myself constantly because a doctor cut me but there's a 2-year statute of limitation then I cannot Sue so I'm out of there in that department so I have to wear diapers until the rest of my life but I'm only 45 I want to have a second chance so I'm going to go get another surgery and see if it works but if it doesn't work how can I get housing if they think that I cannot do for myself but I can do for myself it's just hard I don't want to make a mistake of asking for disability before I get my home I want to still work I'm still young but if this doesn't work then I'm going to have to apply for disability and housing and I think it's so overwhelming

I have autism and hud has been the worst thing to deal with. Got a section 8 voucher and never got to use it in time. facing homelessness again due to harassment and discrimination and unsafe building along with inappropriate housing with huds public housing.

Those of us who are unable to handle or navigate housing issues are getting hurt esp when we dont have services or supports. I am unable to find housing or fill apps out without supports. I dont have friends or family either. I have specific needs for housing to work and none met. HUD doesnt take or return calls, My health continues to worsen due to the extreme loads of stress yet dumped. I have subbed as you explain the hud laws alot better than i can figure out.

I am 46 and 100% physically and mentally disabled. I DO receive 100% SSI as my sole income. My wife of 19 years (22 years total) and I have mutually decided to separate. I am leaving the house and all the possessions with her and our 3 teenage boys. I dont really have any established credit but I do have a decent amount of money to cover deposits, furniture, etc. I would like to stay as close as possible to my children....but having trouble finding an affordable place that doesn't require 60% of my income for rent. This is in behalf of my 77 yr old disabled sister with severe health problems as well as PTSD from being minutes away from the scene of her youngest son who committed suicide by standing in front of a train because he was so depressed over the car accident that killed his sister one yr earlier. Now she is soon to be evicted because the owner is selling her house. She gets SSA but has no place to go and won't pay for a hotel room. They took me off list stating I was contacted in October 2019 and January 2020 with no response so I had to be removed from list. My address had not changed nor my phone number. So I don’t understand how did they contact me I have same email address, where I’m staying with family is the same and my phone number is the same. How can I plead my case when I never received any contact from them. I had an application for just myself because I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, and other health issues. I also had application with my daughter and granddaughter but neither of us was contacted. Do I contact legal aid for this matter? Thank you for you help and time...

I have been diagnosed smi due to some things I have mentally and it's been proven by professionalls that It affects my ability to live a full life (jobs etc) . You should get him registered through an agency to get paid to take care of you. Medicare should pay for respite care. But with housing you'd have to make sure you're very clear with them that you're technically homeless.

That is a perfect example of qualifying disability for HUD.As mentioned in other videos the standard for disability is much low with HUD than Social Security Administration /Disability .

Hey, I will try to keep this short. Try.. 2010 I had brain tumor/cancer. I got disability they kept denying me but when they gave it to me they gave me insur and sent a 8000 dollar check for all the time I waited I had to try to get it again they sent a 6000 check then I tried again they denied it and I got tired of waiting and tried to work b/c I was depressed had no money to do things I was living with my mom. I worked against drs orders and I got a job for almost a month and they “let me go” I couldn’t cut it I tried but I wasn’t exactly able to hold information so I got another job worked two years it was a lot on me but I was happy to be doing everything my drs said I wouldn’t do. I got another job and it was a lot on me but I didn’t believe in disability to have cancer brain tumor hydrocephalus they denied me. But I started getting sick headaches dizzy spells. Left that job got another still having issues doing the job but I got to work I felt like and I started having multiple seizures at home work in my sleep. So dr said I can not work wrote a letter to my job and that was the last time I worked last year. Filed for disability again I really had no choice. I had a stroke feb 4th which is the day I went to sign papers for disability to start left there straight to hospital. My speech is bad I been in speech therapy I had a feeding tube peg in my stomach had it removed 3weeks ago. Speech still bad. I like miss step sometimes get dizzy can’t walk straight but I’m trying to get a place because they don’t pay me much so I need it. I asked the ppl at the disability place for help and they said they didn’t know I’d have to find that out so I don’t know where to start how it works I’m lost and today I ran across your vid so I’m trying my luck. If its housing your looking for calling 211 or 311 to get a housing interview with a local COC.If this is about disability check from Social security you would have speak with lawyer.Im unclear on what you need.

You actually would do well with both a COC and HUD ,I think aCOC would produce housing my faster at 30-45 days but you will need to all the right things and ace there assessment test .

Thank you for your service. I helped a younger woman with a mental disability. The City took her only home and condemned it. So I took her to the Housing Authority to help her get Section 8. They interviewed her and gave a lead to Grace Properties here in the city and she was placed into a brand new apartment run by them. It had everything I needed frankly. A walk-in-shower stall instead of a Tub which I have and cannot get into. They have a 5 year waiting list now and I should have taken one of those apartments too but I was in a lease and couldn't. This is my problem. I can no longer walk and have special needs like a walk-in shower instead of a bath tub which I cannot get into and out of without injury. Presently I have trying to live with what I have. I really appreciate your information.

Waiting list just opened last October, hasn’t been open in yrs. I signed up, it still says up to 6 yrs waiting. I’m disabled homeless, can’t even find a camper or trailer I can afford that’s livable and a safe place to put one. Ever since the wildfires, housing here in northern ca is horrible 😔. I have documentation for me and my kids but every landlord had denied me because of an eviction on my record. My landlord went to sue me for unpaid rent and i took my landlord to court because they wouldn't let me out of my lease because they would do repairs of my unit when i moved in my apartment wasn't remoled at all because when the landlord told me that my key was going to be in the mailbox after 5 it was becoming cold and i told my cousin to see if he can found the heat thermostat so i can turn it on and she didn't even tell me that there wasn't going to be baseboard heat. So when i moved in there wasn't any heat and i had more roaches

I'm almost 65 and therefore qualify as a disabled (electric wheelchair) senior, I'm on SSDI, diagnosis of severe PTSD, Parkinson's disease and Peripheral Neuropathy; also, Sleep Apnea! I have two support felines (both of whom are documented by my physician). To date, I've been turned down for more housing that you can throw into the fire. I think the thing about certain ages may have come from certain rules for other benefits like disabled adult child similar ones that are for SSD and SSDI. There are so many different rules in those programs it is hard to know them all. They are the sort of things I would have to lookup myself since they sometimes even change or there may be a new one.
It took me 15 of 24 years before know most of it, but yes.

NY. State i'm disabled and applied for lease housing and are currently 105 on the waiting list that was almost 2 years ago i was told that they are doing it by a lottery after being one of the first to apply when they opened the list.

6 years ago, i filled out an application for section 8 for myself. I am legally blind, and Diabetic. So, when my time came, i was denied because they wanted my adult kids information. My kids didn't want to give their information up. Cause they not going to be living with me in a 1 bedroom. The section 8 was for me. So, why they wanted their info? Just to be nosey?

Tax credit apartment complexes say you have to earn 11,000 or up to qualify! What person on Ssi gets that? No one! Its discrimination, why give these people tax breaks if they dont help the people who need it? Its just above what they get. Just enough to weed the Disabled out! Its disgusting. Several housing developments in Rockland & Orange county NY ... Theyre low income tax credit yet require a minimum of 11,000 dollars though most want more annually to get in. Very unfair...

My name came up for a 2 bedroom. It's subsidized apartment building but the apartment manager is making me jump thru hoops Im on disability. She asked for proof i have custody of my own child for 16 years wanted a court order cuz she said the estrAnged father could walk in and claim same thing. So i found a court order from 2016 and brought it to her THEN SHE said she needed MORE PROOF cuz I could be trying to sneak him in. WTF!!!!! So I brought her my last 2 tax returns. She has ALL THE OTHER PROOF SHE NEEDS AND I WONDER IF IM BEING DISCRIMINATED against cuz of my daughters father ( who btw in 16 yrs only met her when she was born)

I am 46 and 100% physically and mentally disabled. I DO receive 100% SSI as my sole income. My wife of 19 years (22 years total) and I have mutually decided to separate. I am leaving the house and all the possessions with her and our 3 teenage boys. I dont really have any established credit but I do have a decent amount of money to cover deposits, furniture, etc. I would like to stay as close as possible to my children....but having trouble finding an affordable place that doesn't require 60% of my income for rent. This is in behalf of my 77 yr old disabled sister with severe health problems as well as PTSD from being minutes away from the scene of her youngest son who committed suicide by standing in front of a train because he was so depressed over the car accident that killed his sister one yr earlier. Now she is soon to be evicted because the owner is selling her house. She gets SSA but has no place to go and won't pay for a hotel room. Is there anything she can do to get one of the vouchers you talked about?

it took a year to get into housing authority here in Omaha Nebraska i suffer from a TBI among other things i cald HUD they basically asked if i was in a wheelchair then sed they can't help me
They are slot like insurance they will turn down and run you off if you don't know the rules of the game.

They took me off list stating I was contacted in October 2019 and January 2020 with no response so I had to be removed from list. My address had not changed nor my phone number. So I don’t understand how did they contact me I have same email address, where I’m staying with family is the same and my phone number is the same. How can I plead my case when I never received any contact from them. I had an application for just myself because I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, and other health issues. Unless your in wheelchair or require nursing they can not restrict ADA housing to specific age group.
Tell them you are disabled and tell them your age, they will let you know what to do

@@Section8Consulting since March ive been going through all the channels I needed to go through to get on disability. I have been diagnosed smi due to some things I have mentally and it's been proven by professionalls that It affects my ability to live a full life (jobs etc) . So we are working on getting DDD as it's much needed. Id like to look into section 8 or hud so I can get help living on my own.
HUD housing requirements are lower than if we're trying to get disability check through SSDI so I think you will have easier time.

You should get him registered through an agency to get paid to take care of you. Medicare should pay for respite care.
But with housing you'd have to make sure you're very clear with them that you're technically homeless.

That is a perfect example of qualifying disability for HUD.As mentioned in other videos the standard for disability is much low with HUD than Social Security Administration /Disability .
