Here it is! Robbie Reyes' new HELLCHARGER for the latest season of Marvel's AGENTS OF SHIELD. Ghost Rider is back and he's not on a bike, no now he drives a badass 1969 Dodge Charger RT. In fact, two were built for the show. One for hero shots and one taking on stunt duties.
Bob Hartwig explains everything that went into these builds and how previous experience with the cars from FAST AND FURIOUS helped him to perfect these muscle cars for the new character.
If you like comic books, if you like marvel and if you like the avengers, watch how this car is going to make ghost rider into everyone's new favorite hero. I know he's gonna be mine.... because... car....

The Spirit of Vengeance went from horse, steel horse, and now horsepower. Love it
Actually from a literal Mammoth to a horse , steel horse and now horsepower
Yeah love it
The Ghost Rider's Hell Charger is one of the best looking use in tv and movies. The classic cragars look so much better than the big wheels on the F&F ones
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the classic Cragars.
Yeah the cragar ss rims are awesome!
yeah i hate how they keep trying to throw modern rims on the chargers in the F&F films.
As a proud owner of a 69/440/4 spd charger I love the car they did and the show. The 69 has been my favorite classic car since Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry came out I think around 1974. It's also a great choice for this kind of anti-hero. Lets not forget how cool it was to see blade driving his black charger.
please no. don't destroy the chargers. they are rare and hard to find.
Considering in the first ep they fired an rpg at it and a cgi car was used instead I think it's safe to say these two chargers will probably escape any sort of damage they would otherwise receive.
indeed. With the introduction of CGI to the movie and television world alot of these classics are being saved from the scrap heap, but there is only so much you can do with a computer... and sometimes stunts go wrong. Like the man said in the video "they need to start making 69 charger bodies" i couldnt agree more, make replicas for tv and movies, but let the originals live on, otherwise, as I commented above... they wont be around in the next 100 years...or at the rate they are disappearing... maybe not even a few decades...
marcus colvin hey man look dinacorn they are a company who makes old muscle cars like changers challengers mustang's Chevelles Camaros any muscle car you want they can build it PS. I'm a. charger guys well as A muscle car guy no imports stop make imports there all show and no go.
It's should be written in the law that you cannot destroy classic cars in movies etc..
I love the car it bad ass
"Cool" is not the right word to describe that car... It's freakin' beautiful!
Thanks!
I'd still choose the general Lee or Dirty Mary crazy Larry over it
@@Shade_tree_garage01 it's all the same car just different add-ons I'm dirty Mary and Crazy Larry the only difference between that car was no supercharger and a different paint job yes that was a good looking car to but you saw what happened to it
Honestly
Seeing the new ghost rider on the show was amazing
Love Johnny Blaze
But Robbie Reyes gave it a great new look to the character
The motorcycle is cool in the movies and it suits the Ghost Rider well, but being a car guy, I love seeing the classic Charger! And I think it's a great fit for the character!
70humbler agreed

Bit late seeing this because I just found your channel this past summer.
In any case,if he is still on the hunt for old chargers want to suggest that he does it in the SE US. I've lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and other states along the east coast and it's no problem seeing one every week or two. Either on the road, parked off on private property,or in the scrapyards. Maybe the Duke's of Hazard helped to influence their popularity in this part of the country, or Mopar being favoured on the race circuit back in the day.
In any case, hope this is helpful for the guy building movie car's or anyone that also appreciates old Dodge's. More of a truck guy myself, so still hanging on to my '64 D100, but maybe someday an old Charger or Challenger will be added to the stable too.
I disagree the ghostrider should always use a bike hell it's a classic Dave main painting put to life it's a biker thing it needs to be a bike and I'm a charger fan been my favorite car since watching dukes of Hazzard as kid in the 80s
@312vandal you and I like the ghost rider for different reasons get off my nuts
Ghost Rider is a title. You can have multiple riders. There is literally a T-Rex Ghost Rider.
This is aggravating....everyone has a 69 charger
I want one...
Jon's Garage ME TOO!!!
Me Three!!!
been wanting one since day one and even then the cheapest charger was the 73-74s
It's even worse to be an Aussie and want one
Jon's Garage yeah
I'm from N.C. and a huge Dodge charger fan. I have owned 2 Dodge chargers. One was a 1968 383 automatic. The other one was a 1970 440 Magnum slap stick 4speed with a 60Dana quick change rear end. It was a R/T.
That makes me slightly disappointed to see that the hero cars aren't supercharged and just set on top.
All show and no go.
Thats the saddest part about a hero car that has a fake blower that doesn't make power but if he had time he can put the real working blower that makes 300 to 400 hp and that would be really cool
Well that shit's expensive and maintenance heavy and picture car builders rly shouldn't have to go thru the hassle of making a blower setup functional especially if it's gonna be going thru heavy stunt work. They typically want a car to easily start up every time.
This thing sounds incredible. What a gorgeous Charger!
I have been a Chevelle kind of guy most of my life. My first, when I was 18, was a new '68 SS 396 (375 horse w solid lifters) and it was the beginning of my love affair with Chevelles. In recent years, however, I have been focused on Chargers. I may have overlooked a great car when I was younger. I'm looking for a new acquisition presently. You are never too old to try something new. A new old charger, that is.
Car is awesome. Love the concept of the ghost Rider switching vehicles. It all works.
The Hell Charger is of the most beautiful cars on the road even to this day. I'm from the 60's, I still also love the 1968 GTO and I'd take a Hell Charger any day of the week. Those cars I would see being worked on by people known as 'Motorheads' in the backyards for the next - 'back road race'- that would be coming up, and I tell ya, those races were fierce and so watching Ghost Rider in a Hell Charger brought back ALL THOSE MEMORIES - and I loved every bit of Ghost Rider in a Hell Charger.
I have always wanted to see Ghost Rider switch over to a car as his "Hell-Steed" and this is amazing because I have always been a fan of the classic Dodge Chargers, thanks to my Dad and his 68 Dodge Charger!! He likes the Ghost Rider movies so he will DEFINITELY LOVE THIS!!
Wish there was one of "The Car," still around. That Lincoln Continental was badass and sinister. Gotta have that horn too
That Hell Charger huffs like puppy dragon after an evening stroll of hell! Listen to that sweet sound of smouldering anger! Wow. Good job to everyone who took care and bred this Beast.
I'm one of few car guys/writers who hate the F&F franchise for destroying so many cars. So I appreciate that you only built 2 examples for the show.
I have a question, is it more expensive to built 1 stunt car like H.B. Halicki did in 1974 or building 20 to destroy? Always been curious since I get weak in the stomach when I see Dennis McCarthy bragging about how many cars they are totaling.
Jesus Garcia stunt cars are cheap. But building a hero car like the one for GR is fuuuucking expensive. Full Resto cost basically
The idea is to have one for show and one for abuse, right? Seeing this car in a feature film would be amazing. I do agree that they need to start reproducing Mopar steel bodies to keep up with the demand. Cool or not, nobody likes a blue collar muscle car that only white collar people can afford lol
Jesus Garcia that's a great way to put it!!
You read my mind!!!!
Why hasn't anyone started making fiberglass body panels for this beautiful car?
Hell, they did it for the Willy's jeep!
Surely, instead of wrecking these beautiful classics, for the sake of a movie car, can't somebody out there fabricate moulds of the panels etc and build what 'looks like' a classic Charger out of Fiber-Glass etc. Heck - all the Ferraris in Miami Vice were replicas, Hardcastle & McCormicks Coyote was a McClaren M6GT replica, no need to worry about the sounds - that can always be dubbed in later, than at least the ones that are left won't get wrecked/ruined, the tv/movie people get what could easily pass for a real Charger, and the poor people out there who so desperately want to own and cherish one still have their options open. :-)
the problem is time and cost. getting bodies ordered that way and putting them on chassis that will make them tough and work takes longer and costs more than finding a junk charger and making it work as it's hurled into the side of a building.
That's why we want dodge to start making the 1969 charger body like Ford and chevy does
There is the mill blackbird, which can be transformed thanks to cgi in every car you like.
you can't crash it though
production costs. all the exotics in the Need For Speed film (except the SLR McLaren) were replicas that were at least $300grand each. while a car manufacturer has the budget to build old cars as if they were new, film producers don't have it.
ua-cam.com/video/Nk-ypusAmPk/v-deo.html
I know this has been two years, but I figured you maybe interested in seeing this.
They better not wreck this Charger.
Poke , they did in the movie
NiTRo_ Recon No
NiTRo_ Recon no not yet
if they do ill killem. u in?
They will they always do
Unlike the previous Ghost Riders who rode on motorcycles, Robbie Reyes drives a black 1969 Dodge Charger R/T which he refers to as “The Hell Charger.” The Hell Charger is linked to Robbie in his Ghost Rider form to instantly teleport to or merge with the car.
It's not just Mad Max replicas that have a fake blower - the reason the replicas have a fake blower is because the original car in the movies (1 and 2) _also_ had a fake blower that bolted to the manifold with a bit of steel bracing.
It's stuff like this that makes this channel, one of the best on UA-cam that deserves more attention than it gets. As far as the Hellcharger, I dig it. Really appreciate how they made the faux blower move with the engine, really sells it in the show. That comment @2:30 made me lol during the first episode of the season. You have to love it when a TV show is self aware!
Great video!!
The second Generation charger is ( IMO ) the best looking muscle car of all time . My most favorite is actually the 68 with circle tail lights. Probably because I once owned one. The cost of these cars (in decent condition) are untouchable for the average person. I was priced out so I ended up with the next best Charger option, The third generation Charger!
They have gone up in price as well but can still be found for a reasonable cost. Especially the 1973 and 1974 cars.
Watching this video made me long for another 2nd generation like the one I drove back in the 80s.
For now I will go to the garage and admire my bad ass looking 1971, third gen Dodge Charger.
I feel these beautiful cars have been overlooked and overshadowed by the smokin hot 1968 through 1970 Chargers.
Any love for the third generation cars?
I'm really glad they used a charger for Robbie Reyes in both the comics and agents of shield
I love it! I don't want to see any muscle car disappear from film. That's what keeps them in people's eyes & hearts. And usually they're rebuildable.
Naturally, the Charger is beautiful. You've done an excellent job: the bodylines are perfect, the paint is ocean deep, and the "movie magic" extras are spot on. I could also see using a chevelle with some drag slicks on the back. Or even a murdered out fairlane. Great Job, I hope you all continue to prosper and your businesses succeed. 😎
gorgeous, it's a shame so many beautiful cars get wrecked for movies though
It is bs that this happens. I want to see a bunch of rice burners get destroyed instead.
There's literal copies of the cars and a lot of shots is CGI.
I'm glad that you guys exist, keeping the Mopar heritage alive in Videos, TV, and Movies. I absolutely love and appreciate what you guys do. Now I need to get back to my all Black 69 Dodge Coronet 440!⚡ 🔥🤘😈🤘🔥⚡
I love it! maybe because I'm building the "Black Widow" ... our very own 69 charger and my wife has a 68 we will build as well... and about the fake blower, no worries, I get it, but theres nothing fake about what we do... mostly because we dont have to film a movie, so that helps.
Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage Im a big fan
Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage but that number 69......
Any chance you can share some pictures of your beauties? 😍
Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage I like the way you think bro lol
Black widow? That's a great name for the car! If I were in your shoes I would've called it the Roisin Dubh (pronounced Rosheen Dove) it's irish for Black Rose, I do wish you the very best luck in getting that car back alive again
what a beast. My friends brother in the 80's had something similar. He had dukes of hazzard orange color but then he painted it black with chrome wheels. when ever he was coming home, you would hear the car drive by and it drove my dad nuts how loud it was. the late 60s early 70s were such an iconic time for many cars
Great car, well done. I can't tell you how warm and fuzzy it feels to watch this video and know that there is a '69 Charger sitting in my garage! Extended restoration but we're getting there.
Honestly I came up with a fanfic of where Ghost Rider drives a 70s Camaro with a blower, around the time Robbie's story was first being penned and I didn't even know he existed back then. I love the 68-70 Charger, but like the 68 grille and taillights more.
With that said, the car is gorgeous and I love it so much.
GENERAL MAYHEM lol 😂
That car is beyond gorgeous!
When I first saw ghost rider in the hell charger I got so giddy to see my favourite car woth my favourite marvel character.
Roadkill's General Mayhem spotted.
I'm not into Agents of SHIELD or Ghost Rider, but I liked the format of this video: getting to see all the little details and Bob's narration were interesting.
I know nothing about cars but that Charger is something else, man! 😍
It's not like we haven't all seen a black, blown charger before, Dom. I love what you guys did with her. Now if the was Eleanor we would have to fight.
Love the hell charger. And I agree the aftermarket needs to catch up and build reproduction 68-69 &70 charger bodies for the Tv and movie industry and is regular guys that want a charger but can't find one that's attainable. We need to start a petition lol. Keep up the great work
He has the A-Team van too! That cool! You remember the Fall Guys truck. Always liked it and the pink helicopter in Riptide was awesome too. TV was so much better but then.
Love the hell charger!!!!! I just bought my first Dodge challenger recently and i'm in love... I'm a full blown Mopar man now...
I really like how you give us a look behind the scenes of all these movie cars / vehicles. Somehow shows that it's a small world - everything is connected, but the real dudes are passionate about their work. :) Keep 'em coming!
I love the Agents of SHIELD version of GHOST RIDER and his Charger is AWESOME! Thank you very much for this video!!!!!!!!!
Thats a good reason to start watching AOS again!
Damnnit Dennis!!! Supras, Skylines and now Chargers
The last thing what he said would be really cool. Let them manufacture the body again(with some improvements). Even if its an old style, people still like it. They could even sell it as an electric card(like the zombie). I would import the body alone if i could.
And the blower is really a none issue as its a movie car..
I remember hearing something along the lines that Dennis had a mold or something similar that allowed him to basically build the "Chargers" off basically a blank frame and using a standard motor that he used for all the other stunt cars. Doesn't help much for the hero car of course but I wonder if that's something that would help? I mean, if there's enough demand for this stuff it's always possible that Mopar could run a body-in-white version of the '69 the way that Ford did for the classic Mustangs. Either way, looks good, glad he took that BDS off the blower cover since that would be a dead giveaway that it's just Dom's car. With the different suspension setup, the center console differences, and the wheel change it's definitely just about different enough. I would've loved some ghost flames or something though just to really bring that feel even when it's not been done up with CG. Great video!
I know I am late for the party, but i like the car. The fake blower makes more sense than a functional blower motor and taking a risk of back firing and blowing the blower off and so on. Great job on the videos to!
Yes I love what you guys have done with the charger. Especially blower that is what makes it . I've always wanted one when I kid and still do. But like you guys said they very rare to find ...
Nice video, love the blower switch at 1:51 -reminds of the GTO in My Science Project, of course we all know a real blower is on all the time, no switch, but the idea of flicking a switch for more power is just cool.
I like it, the work wasn't half-gassed which is a major thing and it shows, the shake that the blower does gives it an aged feel that goes quite well with its new look on it. The sound of the exhaust when fully open has a classic muscle car sound to it kinda in my mind similar to the DOZENS of motorcycles that roar past my window EVERY NIGHT, but its that sound that in a way commands respect or at least you WILL know that Death is coming to visit, and it ain't to give you a high five when he passes through. My final thought is that if they do a movie or something similar with this vehicle THANK GOD WE HAVE CGI because if they do a scene of an antagonist running from the Collector in a parking lot or dealership lot full of these models where one of em is the Hell-charger waiting to strike well without CGI that would probably be a pipe dream of a scene....if you want a panel of scores you can expect 10s from me no doubts right now you all have earned it ESPECIALLY with the fact that you guys created these with such quality in such a time constraint....
This car is the reason why I'm a dodge guy This I so freaking awesome
That car is iconic!!
Love the hell Charger , I have been looking for one with no luck yet.
I really love the 68,69 and 70 Chargers and I really think they have one of the best looking designs in automotive history. Gorgeous cars. The car in this video is really cool, but I don't care for the fake blower. I think it goes against the beautiful lines of the car and looks out of place. With this said, it's still a beautifully built Dodge Charger. This channel is really great and the video are really professionally produced. Subscribed!
OBAC One bad ass Charger! Just reached season 4 of SHIELD and was so damn surprised to see Ghost Rider and then car, oh man!!!
Great clip! I am a huge charger fan. I have owned a 70 since 98. Seriously Bob- are you hiring?
Looks great, but I feel it still needs a distinguishing feature even if it's a subtle decal line, like a red line or a skull or something. Maybe the story will give it an excuse to have some modification later on.
Marian Rodu I guess you gotta look at those details like the skulls for locks and stuff. But you're right, some kind of major distinguishing feature would be great. Bob put a front splitter on it to change it up a bit
Like the fire doesn't make a difference xD
These videos are so well made and they keep getting better. Keep up the amazing work!
Damn, I love this BADASS car!
They're great.
He did a fantastic job and I will actually want to watch the movie because of the Charger
love all the chargers they showed but was funny to see the general mayhem from road kill
Charges are the best! I have a 68 with the 440 myself. Don’t forget though, Dominic Torretto had a 70 charger in fast and furious. You guys are definitely doing your own thing with the 69! Keep it up!
Car looks great! I'm really glad it has a big block Mopar engine in it!!
Awesome job on the build of the Dodge Chargers
I've been a fan of the 69 Charger since the early 80's thanks to the Dukes of Hazzard. So the choice to move to that particular car in the comic book was AWESOME. I love that they gave the show what they wanted, but made little changes to make it their own. Yes it looks like Dom's charger, but I was never a fan of the 70. So this is nice. Love the Cragars. Great job on the car. Note: I spied with my little eye an A-Team van. Hell yeah! (cue A-Team theme song).
Never heard of the hell charger. This things is effing awesome and nuts!
I've been building cars my whole life. I've been on four hot rod power tours and met David freiburger the editor of hot rod magazine. And I built camaros with my dad most my career. I'm currently building my own bike to. I love ghost rider since I was a kid. So when this came out. I couldn't contain my self. . I wish smith would've made it 69 Camaro but I love all muscle cars. Try dynacorn or amd. For more panels n such
One of the best episodes you've put together! Well done!
A Charger is a Charger, and the "Ghost Rider" Charger is a beauty for a beast and as always, it's Mopar or no car.
The lever has "Guilty" on it.
Ghost Rider shifting into Guilty Gear is somewhat hilarious.
Definitly not a big block but damn it sounded sweet even with a fake blower.DAMN IT MAN.
even though it looks similar to the F&F Charger, it still looks like it's own form of awesomeness. so this it a job very well done. the Charger is the king of road.
I have an infinity for Chargers. I wish I had this car. This is such a great story.
Great docu. Keep it up, Chris!
This guys' the real deal! What a guy
Damn.....that charger is to die for bro
I love the charger, best part about Robbie Reyes!
Just found this..wow..I love chargers..had 2 general lee replicas years ago..now have a rosco car replica and done a few short films with it..always had a fondness for 69 chargers..and ghost rider..would love to have a job at bobs shop..even just derailing the cars..way cool video..I frigging loved it..oh..and that drift general lee you showed for a split sec..is here in michigan and I get to chase it lol
Love the hell charger y’all did a awesome job I just hope I can get my 70 charger to look that good soon
I always look up pictures of chargers, 69 or 70, and I could never find a good enough picture of one with a blower. I honestly love the car, I definitely think it's a perfect ride for Ghost Rider. And I really hope they make a movie featuring the character of Robbie Reyes and someone like Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Norman Reedus as John Blaze
I want a Charger exactly like the hell charger in the agents of shield show so bad!!!
GarciaGamer Ik right
That's a great look on a Charger. Not a fan of the blower, but the rest is just right. Great stance, great wheels, great tires. Old school. And oh so black..
I was excited when i heard that Ghost Rider is going to have a Charger!! So yes season four of Agents of Shield was awesome!!!
Damn i love the Hell Charger, because il love Doms Charger but my favorit is the 69, so this is the perfect mix of both, Bob did an amazing job, can't stop looking at this video, actually I got my hands on the blower the hood, and other pieces from the stunt car that was sold to Germany last year, so now I'm gonna make a replica with original parts, I also would love to see Bob's shop one day, thanks to Afictionauto, and Bob Hartwig for making all of this happening, and can't wait to see the Ghost Rider series that supposed to come out this year, greetings from France :D
I think that Charger was a perfect car for Ghost Rider. If the older one end up being too hard to source maybe using the Modern version could work also. Great work all around though all the same :D
I think that's a great point. If for some reason the hellcharger gets messed up too badly to fix it, they should work it into the story and then get him a new charger. perfect transition point.
The modern one doesn't have that "look"
I think it's in the details. If they did a new charger they should probably keep the blower, as a design recognition thing. Decent wheels and maybe some pin striping as suggested elsewhere in the comments, give it a similar drag strip style suspension. At that point it's practically matching the old charger anyway.
no the new charger can't possess the same look unless dodge does a massive redesign
1423 171 the challenger could pull it off
Awesome! But why didn't put on a real blower to that engine?
Most badass car ever🔥
Love the new Charger too with The Hell Cat Hemi !!!
Fckin loved it man.....I hope they do make a movie of it.
oh my god it looks so good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 keep up the great work
No wonder the 60-70’s Dodge Chargers are hard to find. I love to own a 1969 Dodge Charger myself and customize the hell out of it, including replacing the original engine it had with either a GEN 2 or GEN 3 426 HEMI V8.
i saw the General Mayhem. this is awesome.
best car illusion ever!
There,s a few dodge charger,s in Utah a good majority of them are in small towns like richfield,Fillmore and delta Utah! Awesome I love dodge charger,s.
The car looks great.
Love the CAR!!! The blower is dope!
this is just the sexiest car ever made. dam. cannot wait to buy one
