  • I decided to bite the bullet and go with these. After thinking about how much I would pay for another pair of markers and then to have them painted I just decided that this was an easier solution. Unless they already had some painted up you could be waiting 3-5 weeks for yours to arrive so keep that in mind.
You will need to know your vehicle's paint code so take note of that.

That’s a lot of work for the side markers! Thanks for the video and sorry about the bumper 😭

Yea, it is a lot of work but the look makes it worth it. I only notice the bumper when I was it but it makes me sick 🙁

@@midtenn_life Sorry but the look does not make it worth it by any standard.

Great video. I have an SQ5 myself and You’ve encouraged me to get that maxton kit, looks great on yours. How were you able to remove that maxton badging? That was my only concern with this kit

Thank you. The Maxton badge is just a sticker, it peels right off. No issues.

Thanks for the video. Did you have to recalibrate any cameras when you put the front bumper back on. I’ve got the front lip and the side markers just don’t want to have to recalibrate the cameras. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey! Nope, did nothing when I reinstalled and it all works fine. I think the difference is when you have to remove the sensors from the housing they are mounted in. If you leave the bumper intact you should be fine.

LOL! I know! That isn't the worst part of it now sadly. My wife was pulling it in the garage a few months ago and managed to misjudge the entry and she jacked up the other side! That was just an excuse to get it all fixed at one time though.

I'd have just painted them from outside lol

This process should never, ever be recommended or attempted. Painting the reflector is a much better, easier and more practical option. You not only seriously damaged your bumper, which, by-the-way, will cost you dearly when you take it in to repair. They will need to paint the entire bumper and hope they get the color right! Also, the clips you damaged cannot be repaired. After a while the ones that have hairline cracks will fail. The hot and cold cycles, after a few seasons, will cause them to break entirely. Sorry but your vanity got in the way of your better judgment.

LOL. Thanks for your input John. I tried a new method when I did the markers and yes, it bit me but that in no way means that someone shouldn't try this, just use a little more discretion and time. Things break, damage potentially happens, we learn from mistakes, but if you are a true car modifier you know that these types of things might happen and you deal with it. I could have just hidden the fact that this happened, but I didn't, I showed everyone my mistake so they wouldn't make it.
