- Oh Wow! What a difference. Two different foundations that look very similar on application, and couldn't look more different after 8 hours! If I hadn't have done a wear test, I'd have loved both foundations....I'm so glad I did. I'm in shock. Hope you find this review and wear test helpful. xxx

Hi Everyone, A quick update for you....I've done an Instagram video with my mum today where she tries out the Dior Forever Matte. If you want to check that out you will see what the foundation looks like on a more mature skin. My Mum really likes the foundation. It sat really well on her skin, it looks very natural (no mask-like film on her face at all) It airbrushed a lot of her pores but if you have very large pores you may still need a primer. It also lasted an incredible amount of time, it didn't sit in any drier areas and looked incredibly hydrating for a matte foundation. She's looked stunning all day. This foundation is not a flat matte....it's a natural matte. She also took this home to try over a few days and said that it's definitely worth the cash. This is her favourite matte foundation that she's tried for a long while.
My Mum also took home the Dior Skin Glow Foundation to try. Although she liked the look of the foundation initially, she said that it didn't last anywhere near as long as the matte version. It also wasn't transfer proof which disappointed her. The oxidation is still a disappointment, but it's easy to buy a lighter shade next time.

I love the matte version! Ordered 1.5N and then had a little panic when I watched this as I am usually a lighter shade than you but it matches perfectly! The lasting power is amazing and it looks basically unchanged by the end of the day. Amazing!

I had a sample of Dior forever glow foundation and I fell in love with it. It is my fave foundation. It lasts all day, feels comfortable and looks like bare skin and it’s not too shiny. I don’t know if it will work for me in summer, because then my skin changes again.
I tried so many foundations - CYO, N 7 hydra luminous moisturising , Shiseido self refreshing, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, MAC face and body-almost all of them made my skin look dry exaggerating my wrinkles and lines. We all have our unique skin types and finding the foundation which suits you is a hard work.

Based on this video I went to my local Sephora to try this foundation. The sales associate asked me if I wear a primer and what brand do I use. I use the Hourglass Veil primer and it gives a skating rink smooth surface to my skin. Based on your review I was ready to buy the matte foundation but she said that because the Hourglass primer dries matte that the matte Dior may be too matte and drying. So she applied the Hourglass primer to my skin then the Dior Glow foundation over it and she was right. The type of primer is critical to the appearance of the foundation and important to the goals of the wearer. I am THRILLED with this Glow foundation and its elegant look on my skin. It also lasts most of the day. For me that is wonderful. Thanks for this!
Hi! This video was 3 years ago but it’s new for me. I just received the matte foundation last week after watch your video. Amazing! I had more than 10 years wearing MAC foundation. But now my skin is mature. It’s looks so beautiful that I’m afraid or wear my powder over it and damage the look. I’m not a “high cost” makeup user but always do with foundation. Thanks so much!

love the matte over 60 here with dry skin I find glowy accentuates flaws and texture ,with this matte I can add add glow I need/ or want

This is so helpful! Thank you. I appreciated the comment that dewy foundations tend to exaggerate text;ure (pores). That's been my experience so I have been looking for a matte foundation that has a lovely finish.

The matte side!!! Yes! I'm struggling so bad right now to find a good foundation. 46 is right around the corner and it seems like my skin is unhappy and showing it's age (all at once!) with anything I put on it. With regards to skincare if you have really dry skin I would use both. A serum penetrates the skin deeper, and then you lock it in with a liquid cream. Foundations depend on the foundation. Gel or serum foundations tend to be more hydrating but I'm generalising. xxx

I love your foundation reviews cos we have the same shade so I can always order the same shade as you and I dont have to be matched up. Which is so very usefull. I have tried the matte foundation and had high hopes as I really liked the old formula but this really did not sit well on my skin. So I got bare minerals bare pro instead which suited really well but I had to be matched which I hate cos its so difficult.

Been using a sample of this from Sephora. Shade 1CR (cool rose). At 57 this is quite nice. Covers beautifully. Sets very quick. Am still trying to learn what skincare will work effortlessly underneath.

These 2 foundations from Dior look fabulous on your skin. I think I will try this one. My usual Holy Grail for many years in foundation was Chanel Vita Lumiere (spelling?).
These both look beautiful Gemma. I bought the EL double wear water fresh on Wayne Goss's recommendation (I'm 46) a year ago but still haven't used up all the wee tester yet never mind open the bottle. I would love to find any foundation that made my skin look nice without drying it out and making me look older, I don't even mind if it's not long lasting I would reapply gladly.. but it just seems to be like the golden fleece. That is a huge difference between the two! The glowy one is nice but it seems like it would take a lot of extra steps to make it last better. I empathize with your painful blemish-I get them too! Elf has a salicylic acid roll on treatment that I’ve found really helpful at nipping those in the bud😊

I bought this in the states abt 10 days ago at Macys they didn't carry the full range of colors so I returned it 1n and order the 1w from Dior web site and it's great. Looks great on you.

Gemma, I just had my makeup done @ Ulta all in Clinique. Now, I have 65-yr old large-pored skin and the makeup artist used Clinique Acne Foundation and I LOVE IT. She used Moisture Surge products and Chubby sticks on the eyes with Honey Bee (???) on the lips. She used a palette for bronzing, highlighting, and contouring. There was also a powder in the palette but it was not used. She used a roller ball moisture surge product on the circles under my eyes which tightened up the skin. All in all, I was so pleased. I never would have picked an acne foundation for myself. If you have time, maybe worth trying???

Thanks Jennifer but I didn't use any products. My eyes are quite deep set so sometimes it looks like I have eyeshadow on in the crease when actually I don't. In this look I just had foundation on my lid and some RCMA no colour powder to set it in place. Very simple look xxx

I did a search for this as doing a clear out i found the two samples of this. I prefer the matt too on my combo sensitive skin. If i hadnt just bought the Shiseido one i might be tempted.
You should keep this shade for summer, and get the 1N for winter. I am usually the same shades as you, and I think 1N will suit your body better when you are fair. I had bought the 1.5N and loved it so much, but it dries down a bit flushed in comparison to the rest of me, and then I went to buy the 1N to use in winter. I love it sooo much. I have normal to dry skin and I’m using the glow version and it does not become greasy on me. I believe that if anyone has combination to oily skin, they sure should go for the Matt version.
It looks very nice indoors, but out in the bright daylight, you can see the shimmer. I hate shimmer on the face, but you may like it.

I scored a sample while in London, 2N glow. It applied gorgeously! (I’m not a glow girl, but they didn’t have my shade in matte.). But wow! It oxidized awfully. I didn’t use a primer. But I’m wondering if I used with makeup 4 ever color correct primer would help, because I too think it’s a beautiful foundation.
Let's just say, I TOTALLY understand the cat hair/foundation problem. Heaven forbid I'd do make without it. Did I miss you saying something about the bunny ears? Lol.
I love these foundations on you. Just beautiful, even in natural light, and I am always hesitant to say what I think about natural light. This seems like a really nice matte, especially. Out of my price range but, lovely all the same. I was late on this one. More phone drama. Good to go for now though. 💜

Perfect color
I purchased both and I absolutely love the skin glow more than the matte. I have dry skin and the matte was drying my skin and sinking into my fine lines. Whereas the skin glow is dewy and hydrating. I finished mine off with loose powder if it's too dewy. I am light to medium with neutral undertone. The 2N and 2.5N work perfectly.

@@kaylireid6373 yes, it's always out on Sephora so I have to ordered it directly from Dior, which took 2 weeks. You can order from Sephora when it's available in your shade, try it, and if you don't like it, can always return it.
Hi there!!! 24 min, WOW, loooooove it!!! *EDIT*: the Forever Matte seems to be perfect! My skin is super oily, and maturity is hitting me hard, AH AH AH!!! Couldn't find it in local Sephora online (yeah, not released around here yet), could find only the DIORSKIN FOREVER UNDERCOVER FOUNDATION, R$245 = US$66. Great video, excellent product, awesome review

I saw your review on Dior Backstage foundation. Compared to the new Dior Forever (matte) and Dior Backstage, which one do you like better and why? I have the new Forever foundation and have been considering of getting the Backstage one. Is it worth it?

Backstage is gorgeous, buildable, demi-matte and very fresh. It goes dewier throughout the day but still sticks to the skin. The Dior Forever Matt is so natural looking with a natural matte sheen. I would say if you have the Forever Matte, stick with it. Maybe get a sample of the backstage, but don't buy it. I think out of the two my favourite is the Forever Matte. xxx
I had such high expectations for Forever Glow….I’ve tried it over several different skin care and sunscreen combinations, I’ve tried with and without primers, I’ve tried different ways of applying - but I always get the same results. Looks nice when first applied, but later, it looks obviously like makeup, and not glowy- just oily in the t zone, and I don’t even have an oily t zone. I’m going to pass it on to one of my nieces. They are always happy to take my high end mistakes.

I have the older version of diorskin forever and it oxidizes a lot on me and my pores get a bit more noticeable :( Need to try that new one.

These two replace the Dior skin forever perfect everlasting makeup. The closest one is the skin forever matte but it’s definitely a new formulation.
Dior skin forever glow is completely new. The new matte one is not as heavy, thick or fast setting as forever perfect so may not be as good as the old one for oily girls.
You can still get the Dior skin forever undercover but that’s fuller coverage than the old forever perfect one.
I actually really like the new matte one as it doesn’t look as cakey and doesn’t oxidise as much as the forever perfect. Forever perfect is being discontinued.
Ps the glow is supposed to be self setting too, so you shouldn’t need to powder either. The Dior sales lady told me that.
The Dior Sales Lady was incorrect as far as my skin goes Lynsey. It's a beautiful foundation but I find that you definitely have to set it in place to make it last xxx

Love your review and Dior is my holy grail. I haven't tried this new version yet but I am in love with the old Forever foundation, and also the Backstage. But why oh why don't they do a light warm shade? I am 0W in the Backstage and it is perfect, (also Dream Urban Cover in 100 Warm Ivory is a shade match for me) but the lightest warm shade they do is 1W in this and it's going to be way too dark for me! I would buy the shop out if they had my shade! I can't wear anything with pink in it, it looks ridiculous on me xx

Ooo Gemma, I need this foundation in my life. I saw it in Sephora and dithered about deciding wether to purchase it or not. I didn't buy it, but come the end of the month, the matte foundation will be mine.
Gemma, can I pick your brains, I know you were a beautician until recently. My 15 year old daughter has acne, which is being treated successfully by her doctor. The main issue she has, is that her nose is covered in blackheads. We use various masks, cleansers, facials etc and nothing is working. Is there a product or treatment you could recommend? We live in a small town and the quality of beauticians.

Try Salicylic Acid, I've heard Nadine Baggott, the Beauty know it all, talk about it on her channel. She says it removes blackheads. I bought some from the Ordinary, which is the Deciem company for my son. A little bit goes a long way too. It really helps to clean out pores..
I use the Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% and I put it on my face neck and chest. I was rubbing my chest with moisturiser when I found 2 loose blackhead come away onto my hands. I didn't even know I had blackheads there. So maybe give that a try as well. Although you can only use Glycolic twice a week. When you can use the Salicylic Acid daily, until the problem is gone.. Try steaming the face also as this helps to open up the pores then apply Salicylic while the pores are open...
Hi Lo,
Detox deep clean clay masks are excellent once per week. Also salicylic acid is great for deep cleaning. I would use salicylic in the morning, and then use lactic acid OR glycolic acid at night. This is a resurfacer. You don't need to exfoliate all the time if you're using them daily. If the doctor hasn't prescribed some skin cleanser, add an oil cleanser and get rid of any harsh products which can actually dry out the skin and cause the body to create more sebum (I recommend the bare minerals Oil Obsessed because it doesn't have any pore clogging ingredients)
What I will recommend however is that she remove any vitamin c creams from her regime. For some people vitamin c helps target acne, but for others (like me) it creates blackheads.
Steam is your friend. Steam rooms and saunas will help open the pores so that you can sweat the blockages out. Try visiting the steam room and take in a facial wipe with some salicylic acid on it. Whilst in the steam room, every 2 minutes just wipe over the affected areas.
The other thing I will say is stop using pore filling primers. They are the devil when applied to skin that is susceptible to blackheads. High coverage silicone foundations are great for covering acne scarring, but they are terrible for the skin and can create more issues. Start using a foundation that breaths. (YSL All In One Glow is excellent....it might not be enough coverage for her, but believe me it will help breakouts and skin congestion go a lot faster in the long run)
