    Like you I ordered my unit over a year ago. Yeah it's here. I was disappointed, like you, that a paper manual was not included. At the least there should have been a "Congratulations: Do this first" card. I've now stacked my unit and have it plugged into the wall for it's first charge. 14% battery upon unpacking. Thanks to your video, I know now to be cautious with the side sliding locks. Looking forward to testing this for my household once I get 100% battery. So glad I found your channel. ~Debbie

    Truly Fantastic Review! I see why you were so enthusiastic. I don’t have your depth of knowledge in the details, but you conveyed the clear bottom lines for me: Modularity, Flexibility, Portability, Reliability, and Reasonability (fairly priced for being a real powerhouse). And you shared some great practical tips (to not wait until time of need to learn how to use it). This is an exceptional episode in your excellent series. Thank you.

    BEST REVIEW OF THIS PRODUCT I HAVE SEEN YET TO THIS DAY!!!!! I have been saving up for a year now to purchase this unit and with Christmas coming around, I think I will have enough. My goal is to have this unit as an emergency back for my garage freezer and house refrigerator.
    Based on your personal experience, do you feel that his unit with one battery could run these units for a day or two?
    My end goal is to have 2-3 batteries with a solar unit as a backup.
    Many thanks for this amazing review.

      Here is a quote from DIY Solar Forums "Ugh. I got caught up gambling on this dumb product. After over a year of missed deadlines and messed up orders, I finally got my flex 1500 on Sep 14. Wouldn't you know it? The paper-thin latch that holds the module to the battery bent and broke immediately. I didn't even notice until I picked the unit up after doing the full charge. One side of the battery dropped and bent the other latch. Now the unit is stuck together with one bent latch. Because I couldn't detach the unit, they had to send me hazmat packaging to handle the unit as a whole.

    Finally someone with my idea. The Rayzr FB camper partnered with the flex is the best option thats out their for doomsday. I plan on getting these 2 for my Duramax along with a 3,000 mile range, 5,000 rounds, 3 guns onboard, rotopax tucked gas tanks with my Honda Generator and much more. All exclusive unit. Excellent video. I wished i could have done it first but been building my truck. Any camper thats more than 14k or is a pull behind is useless for true doomsday. I've spent thousands of hours sorting this out.

    Per the standard wall charger. I think it charges at 100 watts but the batteries may be wired as 24 volts which would explain the display showing half amount. I asked inergy this question and they said they couldn't respond to my question lol. Run the flex down to 50% and time the charge time. I did this and the charge time came out to at 100 watts (basically 5 hours). Great review I really enjoyed the info.

    This is a great presentation and most likely lots of people (just like myself) would consider this Flex 1500 based on your presentation.
    So at this point I am outfitting my conversion van for Off-Grid style and was thinking about a regular Predator or Honda Generator,
    but after this presentation I am thinking to switch from the regular Engine Generator to this Flex 1500 unit but still have some questions.
    I would like to ask you if the FLEX 1500 POWER STATION can be used for my Conversion Van which is outfitted with the following:
    1) Penguin 2 A/C which needs: 13 Amps for Running the A/C
    25 Amps for Start-Up the A/C
    2) My van also has a Refrigerator, Microwave and Coffeemaker made for Semi-Trucks.
    3) Also have USB plugs for my Phone, Tablet and Laptop.
    So would the Flex 1500 Power Station be enough to run the above mentioned when the van engine is off?
    For how long can the Flex 1500 can sustain the A/C for 6-8 hours sleep over night?
    Thank you and look forward to your reply

    • @ExpeditionLightbulb
      @ExpeditionLightbulb  2 роки тому

      First of all, thank you for your feedback. To answer your questions:
      1. The Flex can power your AC, it can handle 30 amps. The question is if you run it for 6-8 hours, you will need a big battery bank. Our 8,000 BTU window AC will run with 1 Flex battery for only 1 hour. I do not think it is feasible to buy that many batteries just to run the AC and the question of recharging it is a big question mark. In my opinion, the Honda generator will be a better option.
      2. The Flex is perfect for your small appliances. I do recommend you have both systems, a gas inverter and a solar power station.
      How much solar do you have coming in?

    What I see is a few things they could have added or just made better:
    A Handle on the Battery in the middle, like on a ammo can.
    2-3 USB ports on the Batter just to add more...
    LIFE CYCLES??? (so just buy ONE battery and if the company is still around then get a newer battery. (or just build your own)

    Thanks for the very informative video. I'm building my off grid tiny house. I will use a propane for refrigerator and stove also wood for heating and cooking. For the rest I would go solar. Could Inergy Flex 1500 be my main source for it, as well convenient to use and provide me enough power for lightning, smaller appliances, like vacuum, steam cleaner, fans, blender, and maybe a laundry machine? Also how many batteries and solar panels would I need? I will be located Taos, NM with a winter (snow) season. Thank you so much in advance!

    • @ExpeditionLightbulb
      @ExpeditionLightbulb  2 роки тому +1

      I cannot definitively tell you that it will run everything that you have described because all appliances have different consumption. But I can tell you that we do run our cordless vacuum, our washer 100% run by the Flex, and you have seen me run my kettle in the video. If I was to build a home like yours, I would do at least 500w of solar panels, 1 Inergy Flex 1500 and 2 Flex batteries equalling 2 kilowatts. I strongly advice to check Ryobi's ONE+ family and see how you can apply it for your beautiful tiny home, like their cordless vacuum, fans, lighting, etc. Please stay tuned for our follow-up review of the Flex. 🤔. The biggest liability I see is the NMC chemistry. This chemistry is subject to “thermal runaway”.. Yes it has a high power to weight ratio, but at the expense of safety and greatly reduced cycle life compared to LFP chemistry.
    I would not have this in a building, boat or RV. The car carrier that just was destroyed off the coast of the Netherlands was transporting 400 EV’s with this chemistry. Once the thermal run away begins the fire fighting technique is to “let it burn” and protect adjacent structures. Water makes the fire worse.
    Safety involves probable risk analysis: probability vs consequences. Roll the dice and understand/accept the consequences.😎

      Our 8000 btu AC is gonna be 750w, we ran it for 1hr and it got down to 13%. The beauty about the modularity is you can buy more batteries. The solar panels (2 x 100w) can charge at a rate of conservatively 150w/hr, would take 0-100% in 7 hours.

    • @MattPritchardOfficial

      One upside is that the times you need AC the most, there usually a ton of sunlight to charge from solar.
