I was a kid when this commercial first aired and I've never forgotten it. The music, the stunning CGI against the black backdrop, Ed Herrmann narrating, wow. I watched it intently every time it came on. Iconic commerical and my favorite ever.
I saw this commercial in a movie theater before a show and was blown away. The music and sound in a theater as well as the pre-CGI visuals was an experience.
I remember when this commercial ran. It’s my favorite commercial ever. The music is awesome. I got chills watching it just now. It’s a masterpiece. I hate the commercials of today.
I kinda like this (my Dad had a 1995 Dodge Stratus ES V6 for a company car). I like the etherial music on this as well, though I never saw this running at my local theater before any of the movies I saw that year.
Can you elaborate? Several years ago, I actually traded emails with the cinematographer of this commercial. They had to take pictures / video of all the models at different angles. So, I assume that you worked on the transitional planes and scintillating transitions?
Well, for one thing, it sure looks better than a VHS recording of the same commercial, though you could argue that the video version has a better framerate.
I used to have a 1998 Dodge Neon, back in 2008 a drunk driver in the afternoon crashed the back of the neon was badly damaged and the drunk driver got arrested and sadly I sold the Neon.
42luke roblox The Neon ended up on a body shop for a month, then a got it back, but it had rear electrical problems (tail light, etc...) so I took it to the Chrysler dealer and they fixed it, but to me the poor car had enough so I bought a Dodge Avenger.
@@chrisg.sellers3295 yup. I believe the NHL on Fox had this, since Dodge was the official car of the National Hockey League before Honda ripped it from their hands in 2010.
These older dodge commercials are the some of the best auto commercials ever made. I remember them well when they first aired.

Same here.
It's Ed Hermann's voice that makes it as good as it is. RIP
Agreed
the music in this commercial is so great.
I want to know what it’s called I like it so much!!!
This is hands down the coolest commercial ever.

this wasn't pre-CGI it's full of CGI and I helped make some of it
@@SeanCChow did yall do it?
The best car commercials of my childhood. Im 35 now and im stunned watching this after all these years. The Durango was a year away.
Loved this one!! This commercial won a Cleo Award, I believe.
I still think this is the greatest commercial that I have ever seen.
25 years later and I still remember this commercial like it was yesterday. Very well made.

This ad hit different
This brings me back to my childhood. Dodge commercials of the 90s were the best. Every one of those vehicles are still good looking

I helped animate this!
That's very cool!
Any way to find out the music track?

What I'd also love to know is who did the music because that is also critical to why this is an amazing commercial.
Nice
The actual name of this commercial is "Time".
Despite Screenvision doing this, I still think it looks pretty dang neat in 35mm.
So do I. It brings that movie theater picture quality back into our minds.
best car commercial ever!
That’s much appreciated thank you for posting this
🐍 viper is very much my favorite car but I honestly think of this commercial often
This Dodge commercial was shown in movie theaters before Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition (1980/1997).
It was also shown before The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997).
Also Shown before Hercules
TheCinciBoy02 Channel
And Anastasia (1997).
Guys, it was a generic car commercial.
@@TheInkPitOx thank you
Dodge in the 1990s
Who the F made this masterpiece. Stunning.
The CG and morphing effects were handled by Metrolight studios. I'm not 100% certain on who made the models used for the cars, however.
@@Newsystuffs this was Digital Domain

This Dodge commercial was shown in movie theaters before the 1997 Special Edition version of Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980).
I'm sure it's a mere port of the video master to film source the way these were done.
@@NVC77 except the commercial was done at film frame rate not video, and film runs at 24 fps while "24P" video runs at 23.976 fps
Best commercial ever!
I would go INSANE if someone turned my viper into an intrepid by driving through a window.
THIS is Dodge.
I miss this narrator

Was the neon scrapped? What replaced it? That is sad :(

@Scott P (I’m a new owner of this acc) I agree and disagree at the same time, but I mostly agree, it was very unsafe and cheaply made
"..... and a company"
also before space jam
Don't forget Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition (1980/1997).
This is actually from 1995
Looks like something out of the early 1980s
i my idea or dodge is embarrassed by the neon???
Great ad, even if the cars themselves weren't all that great.
And coming soon the durango
What Movie Theater has this rare commercial?
United Artists Theaters.
Not rare - it was on broadcast T.V. also in some markets
@@chrisg.sellers3295 yup. I believe the NHL on Fox had this, since Dodge was the official car of the National Hockey League before Honda ripped it from their hands in 2010.
Screen vision sure makes them crappy! enjoy folks
The New Dodge.
the wheels aren't turning and thus it is the glass plates and not the car that is moving
You assume the vehicle is moving on a surface versus moving through a medium....
Who*s th narrator?
Sounds like Jeremy Irons
Dodge used to be awesome! Now they suck!
