I had Penny’s Jersey, shoes, and watched Orlando Magic as much as I could when I was young. He was such a great player in his prime. I liked Hardaway more than Jordan!
Man I wish he stayed healthy! I always shed a tear when I remember Penny. So much fun to watch before his injuries. Would've been a first ballot hofer.
I always tell younger cats that if Penny didn't get injured the discussions would be MJ vs Penny. Kobe is my boy but I really don't know what would have been for Penny. Thanks for uploading this, I remember watching this on a Saturday morning like it was yesterday.
I was at this game. Nobody really understands how amazing the Shaq Penny team was. If you went to a Magic game back then you would leave deaf...Penny was unreal. I get teary-eyed watching this team. So many memories. If the Magic woulda stayed together, The bulls would NOT won those last 3 titles..If Nick Anderson didn't miss 4 straight free throws up by 3 they woulda won the Title against the Rockets. These teams rhese days such as Golden State could never handle the Magic. They were like a freight train. Penny would school Curry. Uggg. It's hard to think about. If Shaq didn't leave Penny wouldn't have gotten hurt. He literally carried the team. I still hate Shaq to this day. Especially since he has admitted he wish he never left and the yeam was better than the Lakers....
Technically, this team was together during the Bulls championship year of 1995-96. No team was going to beat them, especially with memories of how they lost to the Magic the year before. But they definitely would have been the Bulls' biggest rivals the next 2 seasons. I still don't know why the Magic organization were so slow in trying to resign Shaq. He was becoming the most dominant big man the league had ever seen, and you lowball him, paying him less than Alonzo Mourning?
LOL Domini saying Curry would beat 6-7 Penny with Shaq in the middle, good one. And the Magic weren't beating the Bulls again with Brian Hill as the coach, they needed a defensive minded one.
Domini478 He was himself against the Hornets who won 50 games and had Alonzo Mourning, Kukoc got shut down by Horace Grant after he lit up Charlotte and Pippen was inconsistent. Take Grant off Orlando the Bulls win that series Shaq and Penny didn't have the experience to do it alone.
Penny Hardaway's Skill=Magic's passing ability+MJ's flair&grace. It's really a damn shame his knee gave him problems(same with Grant's knee and McGrady's back). These guys were the next generation of stars after Magic,Bird,MJ,Drexler and Barkley.IMHO when healthy and in their prime, all three were better than Kobe.
6:50 this hits me right in the feels. A young healthy Penny on this Magic squad with a limitless future with Shaq, before it all came apart in the summer of 96. Makes me happy and so sad at the same time.
Remember everybody, LeBron James idolized hardaway and some of his game is due to hardaway! Hardway would have been in top 10 guards of all time and in top five point guards of all time if not for injuries!
sorry to say to this guy t-Mac was only a scorer Penny was a all-around beast could give you 40 points with 15 assists 10 steals 8 rebounds 6 blocked shots and was deadly outside T-Mac never impacted the game like Penny neither did Kobe and as good as Grant Hill was Penny use to destroy him Penny was too quick and explosive his skillset was ridicilous hate the injuries hit him smh.
marcus. Yes sir you already know people act like they forgot how skilled this mane was he wasn't a average player if he was in his prime with no injuries playing in this soft era of basketball he would by far be the best player in the game today no one could guard him and made defenses look bad with the passes one of the best that ever did it Mr.1 Cent
Too bad you didn't include the part where Pippen called a unnecessary timeout which might had cost the game for the Bulls at the end of the regulation. Penny in his prime was fantastic.
Not trying to be rude, but that game was played as part of a NBA on NBC Sunday doubleheader. But you're right, it would have most definitely been MJ vs. Penny or even Grant Hill, had it not been for their injuries. As great as Kobe is, he wasn't as skilled or good as Penny was during his prime. Penny and/or Grant Hill would've been the "next superstar" after MJ, if not for injuries...SMH
Kid: omg dad, the intensity. Was this game 7 of the NBA finals? Dad: no son. See... back in the day players competed hard, that's all. Kid: Wow. So this is what competition looks like? Dad: yup.
Im from a third world alike country called Poland and we have colagene-something-condom membrane for kneecap cartilage (I have one, its like 2000$ so no biggie for you guys) and Im sad that Penny didnt have it when he needed it. Sick player back then.
I had Penny’s Jersey, shoes, and watched Orlando Magic as much as I could when I was young. He was such a great player in his prime. I liked Hardaway more than Jordan!
100%
Penny was the best he still my favorite of all time
Yeah and dont forget bout Tyra
Man I wish he stayed healthy! I always shed a tear when I remember Penny. So much fun to watch before his injuries. Would've been a first ballot hofer.
+Picasso Before badly injured, I saw Penny devastated Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp's super team (Sonics), single-handedly, without Shaq.
which game
Penny IS a Hall of Fame Player Simply Amazing
Penny is near Jordan at this point. If only he could stay healthy for 5 to 7 years, he could improve his game a lot.
I remember watching this on a Saturday morning like it was yesterday
deeply moved by you
In that game winning dunk Penny took just 3 dribbles coast to coast
Best pg ever! Stayed healthy top 5 player of all time
Facts. He gave Jordan a lot of trouble. Penny was basically unguardable.
@@michaeledwards2146 same with Reggie Miller
oh my god, a really rare clip, Penny was so damn good!

I always tell younger cats that if Penny didn't get injured the discussions would be MJ vs Penny. Kobe is my boy but I really don't know what would have been for Penny. Thanks for uploading this, I remember watching this on a Saturday morning like it was yesterday.
The NBA was so much fun to watch in 1990's........the games are so boring today zzzzz
with defenses today, Penny would hit 40ppg easyely. Just have to check how bulls defend on him. Its way much tougher
Remember watching this game like yesterday. Penny with the game winning break away dunk!
NO SHAQ,NO JORDAN NO PROBLEM. IT WAS PIPPEN VS PENNY.

I agree. But if jordan hadn't came back in '95?
Magic win the title over the sonics.
LOL Domini saying Curry would beat 6-7 Penny with Shaq in the middle,

Penny Hardaway's Skill=Magic's passing ability+MJ's flair&grace.

That arena was turnt up that night
Omg you took me back. I remember this game on a Sunday on NBC
very very smart and def has great fundamentals. See him work the post.
Great Player. Sadly Injuries Did Not Let Him Keep The Same Level Later On In His Career.
6:50 this hits me right in the feels. A young healthy Penny on this Magic squad with a limitless future with Shaq, before it all came apart in the summer of 96. Makes me happy and so sad at the same time.
The results of Pippen without Jordan and Penny without Shaq...
What an explosive player at the prime of his career to bad injuries wreckec his career
Penny was magic with moves and hops. I think had not been knees we Mj, penny, LeBron or magic take your pick.
Remember everybody, LeBron James idolized hardaway and some of his game is due to hardaway! Hardway would have been in top 10 guards of all time and in top five point guards of all time if not for injuries!
looks like penny has some crazy mitts too.
too bad he got injuried..

Damn! I miss the penny he was sweet as hell! A scorer, who could pass like magic!
Only thing that could stop Penny was knee injuries
Too bad you didn't include the part where Pippen called a unnecessary timeout which might had cost the game for the Bulls at the end of the regulation.
Penny in his prime was fantastic.
1:24, wow, JJ Redick has been on the Magic longer than I thought.
Not trying to be rude, but that game was played as part of a NBA on NBC Sunday doubleheader.
