i miss 90s. Benetton, BMW, Toyota, Bar Honda, Williams , Brigstone vs Micheline... World so boring now(generaly) But im lucky because i saw that times. And It will remain as a memory in my heart.
you´re right but you forget the presure between the drivers to have the enemy in your neck round by round.... only the best drivers can hold this presure without making a mistake, and even if your cars was faster than that in front of you, drivers like Jarno Trulli, JP Montoya, Alonso etc. were always hard and difficult to overtake. Today the cars/tires aren´t designed to drive many rounds in the slipstream... so they go into the 1 second zone and overtake without problems, or they have to make a gap to not destroy the tires in the slipstream and overtake with strategy... it´s a hard and cool job too, but not that satisfied like seeing two cars 10 rounds behind each other with only cm between front and rearwing in every corner!
+JustLooseMe DRS is a good idea, it's just way to OP. it'd just be follow the leader back then and then when DRS was introduced it was way to OP. they need to reduce the gain from DRS so that you still get an advantage but it's not just simple, you actually have to be very close and make a move into the breaking zone, rather than just being 30 car widths back and still being able to fly by them

But it´s a little anooying to hear "we are slower in the slipstream, please make a gap".... Because thats the reason why we don´t have many wheel to wheel fights

Some of the most frustrating things are "okay we need you you conserve fuel" "we need you to back off and conserve the tires" or back off because the engine is over heating etc etc. I'm a die hard F1 fan but it's put me off a bit. Like do you watch the Bathurst 1000. Man that's amazing. Literally the last hour they're yelling at the driver to push as hard as they can, they are urged to save fuel but nowhere near to the extent of F1. If F1 was as exciting as that imagine the viewers it'd gain back

Das war ein klasse episches Duell zwischen den beiden Brüder über die volle Renndistanz. Das war typisch für diese Zeit, da wurden Überholmanöver sehr hoch wertgeschätzt, Rad an Rad Duelle zwischen den Besten über die ganze Saison gesehen. I looked everywhere on youtube for this great GP, the Schumacher bros battle lol. This R.Schumacher had a great Williams, most powerful engine so perfect for this track, great tyres cos Michelin were only great in hot conditions and this year Ralf was at his best (like '02 & '03).
I think Michael saw that Ralph really wanted to show his brother that he is competetive and Michael decided that if his brother really wants that Win, he should have it, its still sad to see that none of them race in F1 anymore :/
Oooooooooooh don't you worry, Ralf already had a victory before this, Michael obviously wants his brother to do well but not at his own cost. Ralf simply was faster (car) that day. Well played by both for not running each other off the track ;)
Frank Fang - Ferrari was crap when Michael joined the team in 1996. It's Michael's ability to analyse a car WHILE driving in the middle of test runs that proved to be the difference when it came to helping out his team figure out how to improve the car. Nobody else worked harder in testing than Michael (perhaps all time). He was one of the few people who could drive flat out while giving a detailed analysis of the behaviour of the car in every section. So if Ferrari ended up having a good car, Michael had a lot to do with it. Of course, a team needs to have the resources to incorporate what they need to be competitive - and Ferrari certainly had all that. But so did Williams at that time, and Ralf just didn't have the same analytical mind Michael had (the same goes for Montoya). Michael wasn't gifted a competitive car. He helped build it. It's a skill the select few had: Senna, Prost and Lauda were among the few that had a similar ability (and dedication to work with the engineers). Other drivers are simply that - drivers. The true greats contributed more than just the driving.
+Jovan P a little correction here. The BMW Williams car, in that race, was the best, not the driver. The most powerful engine and Canada is a power track. Ralf was known as "Half" schumacher, meaning he was half as good :)
2001 war meine Lieblings-Saison der Formel 1 mit Abstand. Sauber war auf dem Höhepunkt (Hopp Schwiiz) und die Autos sahen einfach am besten aus und hatten die besten farblichen Unterschiede (Jaguar grün, Prost blau, Ferrari rot, Minardi schwarz, Sauber einzigartig, Jordan gelb, Arrows orange, BAR weiss, Williams typisch BMW). Zudem hatte Sauber mit Heidi und Kimi einfach die perfekten Rookies (Rucki-Zuckies) am Start, die machten einfach nur Freude! 13:20 - Michael 1 oder Ralf 2 sagte ich immer. :)
Mit die geilste Lackierung ever. Design fast primitiv im Vergleich zu heute und doch optisch Welten vor den heutigen Tuningkarren. Die ganzen Tabaksponsoren wie Lucky Strike bei BAR, Marlboro bei Ferrari etc, richtig anarchisch im Vergleich zu heute. Weniger ist eben oft mehr. Leider interessiert heute nur noch das technische Design und nicht das optische ☹️
tolle Zeiten waren das noch. man konnte als zuschauer noch mittaktieren was heute schon nicht mehr richtig möglich ist bei den ganzen Reifenwechsel alle paar runde :(

+sas147741 Why? Nobody really likes overatking in the box. The rules must so defined, that the cardesign allows to use the lower stream (lee) behind a car. Then we will see more real overtaking.
Reini M. Oh come on!, i prefeer overtaking in the box next to no overtaking at all, at this point of the Formula 1 five seconds are almost an irreversible adventage for the car ahead, refueling allows a whole strategy play that really could shake the races and make them more fun to watch.
Which driver will risk to overtake, if he knows that he could overtake in the box? Overtaking in the box is like soccer with goals only by penalty. That´s boring. You´re right. The reglement at the moment is terrible. In the lower race championships the cardesign doesn´t need the airsteam to be pressed down. There´s much easier to drive in the lee of the front car and to overtake with more speed. The F1-Cars can´t drive behind each other to near. They loose the downpressure and the tyres get worse. The cardesign must be changed by the reglement.

Ich finde die ganze Kritik an der heutigen Formel 1 nicht berechtigt. Ja, es hat sich einiges geändert. Aber was sich geändert hat ist, dass heutzutage die Fahrer, und damit meine ich beinahe alle Fahrer, ihr Auto am absoluten Limit bewegen. Das war eben früher nicht der Fall. Darum finde ich die Überholvorgänger, außgenommen DRS, heute viel anspruchsvoller.
Ich wünschte mir eine F1, wo zb nur die maxmimale Größe des Autos, die Reifengröße und der maximale Hubraum vorgegeben ist. Dann würde man sehen welches Team technisch am besten ist. Und was solls, wenn ein Team ein Jahr lang komplett dominert? Die anderen Teams werden in nächsten Jahr sicher nachziehen.
Früher war die Formel 1 einfach noch viel spannender als heute. Schon alleine die Boxenstopps waren einfach noch viel anspruchsvoller als heute, mit dem Tanken so. Das mit dem Kers finde ich eine gute Idee, aber es könnten mehr PS dabei heraus springen. Damals ging einfach noch vielmehr die Post ab, Überholvorgänge waren noch anspruchsvoller. . Alles geht nur noch um Aerodynamik und wer den besten Diffusor hat und so'n kram -.- DRS finde ich ist auch so'n scheiß, Klappe rum und vorbei ist man.
Zu schreiben, dass früher alles besser war, ist immer einfach. Mehr Überholmanöver, mehr Autos und gleichzeitig schnellere Autos haben wir heute. Trotz V8 sind die 2012er Autos deutlich schneller als die 2001er Generation. Dazu mehr Fahrer, die siegen können. Einzig 2 Dinge waren 2001 besser: Die Optik und der Sound der Autos. Ab 2014 wird wieder alles anders. Die Autos, die Motoren... Und dann geht es wieder los: Früher war alles besser. Nur dass sie dann die Jahre 2009-2013 meinen...
ich finde beide generationen haben ihre vorteile, heute wird wegen der reifen und drs wieder auf der strecke überholt, früher haben die kämpfe länge gedauert und leider meist in der box entschieden. die FIA war der meinung das die f1 zu schnell, gefährlich und teuer wurde deshalb sehen die autos jetzt anders aus und liegen dichter beisammen, ich finde die teams sollten am kerssysthem entwickeln dürfen sodass manche vielleicht 120 ps und andere nur 80 ps haben oder die einsatzdauer verlängern
Großer Preis von Frankreich 2002. Schumacher gewinnt nach einem Fehler von Räikkönnen der auf einer Ölspur aussrutscht (Adelaide Haarnadel)das 11. Rennen der Saison vor Räikkönnen und Coulthard und holt damit seinen 4. Titel. Als Folge auf das Jahr werden 2003 die Regel in zb Einzelzeitfahren im Quali geändert. 2004 wurde Schumacher erst in Spa zum 7. und letzten mal Weltmeister.
Das zwei Fahrer über Runden um einen Platz kämpfen gibts fast garnicht mehr. Nach 2 oder 3 Runden pfeifen die Teams schon ihre Fahrer zurück, weil entweder Sprit gespart werden muss oder die Reifen zu schnell abbauen und ähnlicher Mist.
Weil Michael der inteligenteste Fahrer weit und breit zu der Zeit der Formel 1 war, und er wusste das an diesem Tag gegen Ralf und BMW nichts zu holen war. Also lieber Platz 2 und 6 Punkte, als sich das Auto kaputt fahren und null Punkte!
In der Schumacher Prozessionszeit war nicht wirklich viel besser als heute. Nur die Optik und die V10-Motoren. Heute sind Rennen unberechenbar, das war von 2001-2008 viel seltender der Fall.
Und? Erstmal muss man in diese Postion kommen. Und da heute alles viel enger zugeht, ist das ebenfalls deutlich anspruchsvoller als früher. Es ist heute viel komplizierter ein Rennen zu gewinnen als früher. Heute kann ein Fahrer, der nicht in einem Top Team fährt, trotzdem vorne mitfahren. Das war früher unmöglich. Das fahrerische Level im Feld ist höher als vor 10 Jahren. Trotz einiger Paydriver.
Willst du lieber langweilige Rennen wie damals ohne Überholvorgänge oder die Rennen von heute mit vielen Überholvorgänge? Außerdem sind die Autos hier 2004,2005 1:13 gefahren.
Sry wenn ich mich einmische, aber du bemängelst an der heutigen F1, dass sie wie an der Perlenkette fahren? Es gab Zeiten, da konnte man das in der F1 behaupten. Aber heutzutage !? Als Vergleich Bahrain 2010: 15 Überholmanöver 2012: >70. Und es liegt nicht alles an den Reifen. Wann vertehen das mal die Leute. Klar wenn die Reifen extrem abbauen hat man keine Chance mehr ( siehe Raikkönen), aber dann muss man sich halt darauf einstellen.
der teilweise über 5 runden dauerte bis einer die ober hand gewann oder es entschied sich in der box. heute fahren die auch lücken zu aber du wirst fürs wachbleiben nicht mit klasse überholmanövern belohnt sondern siehst wie er aufn knopf drückt und mit 20 bis 30 kmh unterschied an dem vorder man vorbei fährt. dann? wieder ne lücke von 5 sekund die es zu zu fahren gilt. heute ist das alles nur rundenzeiten vergleichen. und das finde ich schade
sie fahren ohne KERS und ohne DRS auch gute rundenzeiten weil der messpunkt von DRS ist ja an der drittletzten kurve und da furen die 2011 1:14:... und 2001 furen die eine runde von 1:18:... ohne den scheiß
seh ich aber auch so die ganze strecken sehen aus wie wenn du jne schnur nimmst zwei graden machst und den rest verwurstelst. für mich ich mag die strecken nicht die sehen alle gleich aus. die sind alle von diesem tilke. wenn ich f1 gucke muss ich teilweise ins inet schauen wo die grade fahren weil ich die strecke mit jeder andren neuen strecke verwechlse.
genau. es ist nurnoch das beste auto. wer das hat gewinnt, wer das größte budget hat gewinnt. es hat einfach nichts mehr mit dem fahrerischen können zu tun.
btw why wasnt ralf trying to draft off the ferrari on the long straight i think if he would use the draft all the way he could of passed michael sooner but oh well
leider ist die F1 zu "Actionreich" Imo.. Überholen mit DRS kann im Prinzip jeder .. Zu dieser Zeit waren das noch richtige Fights, da konnt man um die Position kämpfen auch wenn man eig langsamer war.

ralf war und ist ganz klar unterschätzt. jedoch fand ich damals wie heute montoya noch einmal deutlich beeindruckender als ralf.

Montreal has no fast corners for the dirty air harm the car behind. The cars have struggled to follow each other since the late 90s.

+sas147741 Why? Nobody really likes overatking in the box. The rules must so defined, that the cardesign allows to use the lower stream (lee) behind a car. Then we will see more real overtaking.

Oh come on!, i prefeer overtaking in the box next to no overtaking at all, at this point of the Formula 1 five seconds are almost an irreversible adventage for the car ahead, refueling allows a whole strategy play that really could shake the races and make them more fun to watch.

Overtaking in the box is like soccer with goals only by penalty. That´s boring.
You´re right. The reglement at the moment is terrible.
In the lower race championships the cardesign doesn´t need the airsteam to be pressed down. There´s much easier to drive in the lee of the front car and to overtake with more speed. The F1-Cars can´t drive behind each other to near. They loose the downpressure and the tyres get worse.
The cardesign must be changed by the reglement.
+Reini M. So actually is no overtaking in the box? Since V6 engines there are tons of undercuts in the box lol.. DRS with the new 3 Tyre rule AND refueling will bring way more ways to overtake. In Box AND on track
+R 19 FIA needs to scrap the speed limits in the box too. Then the overtaking due to pitstops will get less.

Ich finde die ganze Kritik an der heutigen Formel 1 nicht berechtigt. Ja, es hat sich einiges geändert. Aber was sich geändert hat ist, dass heutzutage die Fahrer, und damit meine ich beinahe alle Fahrer, ihr Auto am absoluten Limit bewegen. Das war eben früher nicht der Fall. Darum finde ich die Überholvorgänger, außgenommen DRS, heute viel anspruchsvoller.
es macht heutzutage nicht mehr so spaß zuzusehen wie damals.

Ich wünschte mir eine F1, wo zb nur die maxmimale Größe des Autos, die Reifengröße und der maximale Hubraum vorgegeben ist. Dann würde man sehen welches Team technisch am besten ist. Und was solls, wenn ein Team ein Jahr lang komplett dominert? Die anderen Teams werden in nächsten Jahr sicher nachziehen.

Früher war die Formel 1 einfach noch viel spannender als heute. Schon alleine die Boxenstopps waren einfach noch viel anspruchsvoller als heute, mit dem Tanken so. Das mit dem Kers finde ich eine gute Idee, aber es könnten mehr PS dabei heraus springen.
Damals ging einfach noch vielmehr die Post ab, Überholvorgänge waren noch anspruchsvoller.
. Alles geht nur noch um Aerodynamik und wer den besten Diffusor hat und so'n kram -.-
DRS finde ich ist auch so'n scheiß, Klappe rum und vorbei ist man.
Zu schreiben, dass früher alles besser war, ist immer einfach. Mehr Überholmanöver, mehr Autos und gleichzeitig schnellere Autos haben wir heute. Trotz V8 sind die 2012er Autos deutlich schneller als die 2001er Generation. Dazu mehr Fahrer, die siegen können. Einzig 2 Dinge waren 2001 besser: Die Optik und der Sound der Autos. Ab 2014 wird wieder alles anders. Die Autos, die Motoren... Und dann geht es wieder los: Früher war alles besser. Nur dass sie dann die Jahre 2009-2013 meinen...

ich finde beide generationen haben ihre vorteile, heute wird wegen der reifen und drs wieder auf der strecke überholt, früher haben die kämpfe länge gedauert und leider meist in der box entschieden. die FIA war der meinung das die f1 zu schnell, gefährlich und teuer wurde deshalb sehen die autos jetzt anders aus und liegen dichter beisammen, ich finde die teams sollten am kerssysthem entwickeln dürfen sodass manche vielleicht 120 ps und andere nur 80 ps haben oder die einsatzdauer verlängern

Das zwei Fahrer über Runden um einen Platz kämpfen gibts fast garnicht mehr. Nach 2 oder 3 Runden pfeifen die Teams schon ihre Fahrer zurück, weil entweder Sprit gespart werden muss oder die Reifen zu schnell abbauen und ähnlicher Mist.
Wieso war Michael am Ende dann so weit weg?
Weil Michael der inteligenteste Fahrer weit und breit zu der Zeit der Formel 1 war, und er wusste das an diesem Tag gegen Ralf und BMW nichts zu holen war. Also lieber Platz 2 und 6 Punkte, als sich das Auto kaputt fahren und null Punkte!
Mit den Fernost Strecken muss ich dir aber Recht geben. Die Kotzen mich auch richtig an.
In der Schumacher Prozessionszeit war nicht wirklich viel besser als heute. Nur die Optik und die V10-Motoren. Heute sind Rennen unberechenbar, das war von 2001-2008 viel seltender der Fall.
Und? Erstmal muss man in diese Postion kommen. Und da heute alles viel enger zugeht, ist das ebenfalls deutlich anspruchsvoller als früher. Es ist heute viel komplizierter ein Rennen zu gewinnen als früher. Heute kann ein Fahrer, der nicht in einem Top Team fährt, trotzdem vorne mitfahren. Das war früher unmöglich. Das fahrerische Level im Feld ist höher als vor 10 Jahren. Trotz einiger Paydriver.
Willst du lieber langweilige Rennen wie damals ohne Überholvorgänge oder die Rennen von heute mit vielen Überholvorgänge? Außerdem sind die Autos hier 2004,2005 1:13 gefahren.

Sry wenn ich mich einmische, aber du bemängelst an der heutigen F1, dass sie wie an der Perlenkette fahren? Es gab Zeiten, da konnte man das in der F1 behaupten. Aber heutzutage !? Als Vergleich Bahrain 2010: 15 Überholmanöver 2012: >70. Und es liegt nicht alles an den Reifen. Wann vertehen das mal die Leute. Klar wenn die Reifen extrem abbauen hat man keine Chance mehr ( siehe Raikkönen), aber dann muss man sich halt darauf einstellen.
der teilweise über 5 runden dauerte bis einer die ober hand gewann oder es entschied sich in der box. heute fahren die auch lücken zu aber du wirst fürs wachbleiben nicht mit klasse überholmanövern belohnt sondern siehst wie er aufn knopf drückt und mit 20 bis 30 kmh unterschied an dem vorder man vorbei fährt. dann? wieder ne lücke von 5 sekund die es zu zu fahren gilt. heute ist das alles nur rundenzeiten vergleichen. und das finde ich schade

sie fahren ohne KERS und ohne DRS auch gute rundenzeiten weil der messpunkt von DRS ist ja an der drittletzten kurve und da furen die 2011 1:14:... und 2001 furen die eine runde von 1:18:... ohne den scheiß

seh ich aber auch so die ganze strecken sehen aus wie wenn du jne schnur nimmst zwei graden machst und den rest verwurstelst. für mich ich mag die strecken nicht die sehen alle gleich aus. die sind alle von diesem tilke. wenn
ich f1 gucke muss ich teilweise ins inet schauen wo die grade fahren weil ich die strecke mit jeder andren neuen strecke verwechlse.
genau. es ist nurnoch das beste auto. wer das hat gewinnt, wer das größte budget hat gewinnt. es hat einfach nichts mehr mit dem fahrerischen können zu tun.

leider ist die F1 zu "Actionreich" Imo.. Überholen mit DRS kann im Prinzip jeder ..
Zu dieser Zeit waren das noch richtige Fights, da konnt man um die Position kämpfen auch wenn man eig langsamer war.
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Siegfried & Roy und den Schuhmacher - Brüdern? Der Gesichtsausdruck, wenn der eine dem anderen hinten reinfährt!

ich muss ganz erlich sagen. ich weiß immer noch nicht warum DU es spannender findest? du sagst immer nur die leute heute sagen dies sagen das. was man ändert und was es bewirkt weiß ich selbst auch nur ich habe dir gesagt warum ich es langweilig finde aber du sagst du wenn mehr um den titel fahren is es spannender. aber warum?

schau mal österreich 2001 montoya gegen schumi. und dann stell dir vor das wäre heutezutage passiert. montoya würde für 1 rennen gesperrt . damals sagten schulz und surer das wäre großes rennsprt. heute würden die sagen das montoya nicht auf die straße gehört.
