To use a northern Irish expression, the people in the Anna K are a bit agricultural looking. 🙈 I got that deck cause I felt it was a classic and I should. I really like it and will keep it but, I don't know, it hasn't quite got under my skin like some.
the king with the cake in Everyday Witch Tarot always reminds me of Marie Antoinette, "let them eat cake" (although being historically correct, she never said that). BUT I still love my EW Tarot
We’re planning to have the first book read by the end of Jan but realize that people will be reading at different times, so these Raven’s Prophecy videos will be prerecorded in addition to our regular monthly lives 🖤😊
I wish people would stop attacking the Empress card for being pregnant. It’s the only card in the deck that typically represents women in that light and is representative of the pregnant women population and direct association with motherhood, however “pregnant” is interrupted. It also depicts a primary context for women in centuries past, that although limiting, narrow, and gender role stereotypical, pays homage to our ancestors past who filled those roles. There are many other lady cards in the deck that are not pregnant and can still represent creativity and abundance. Nevertheless, I am still enjoying this serious and the myriad of perspectives on various aspects of decks and cards.
I feel the same way. It is the only female card that is pregnant, and only sometimes. People get mad that it isn't inclusive, but what about women that have/are pregnant? That is the lived reality of many many women. Now and through the ages. I always wondered why the depiction of a pregnant woman causes such anger or annoyance. Childfree or not, if the depiction of pregnancy is so triggering that seems like a personal issue and shouldn't be struck from a deck of human experience.
I’ve not personally seen anyone angry about a pregnant Empress, they are usually just saying they are bored with it and wanting to see something else. Saying you don’t want to see a pregnant Empress is not the same as saying you don’t want pregnancy to be represented in the deck at all. Just, why always the Empress? Why not make the woman in the Strength card pregnant, or in the Star? I actually don’t mind a pregnant Empress, but I do think seeing pregnancy in a different card would be very interesting.
@@Heather_Tarot oooh a pregnant Strength card... that speaks to me, having been through all that recently - strength. Or even Judgement would be interesting other ways to include pregnancy. The Breastfeeding Empress in the Shimmering Veil stole my heart. Breastfeeding is so rarely depicted in our culture anywhere. So I like pregnant Empress but I get that it's been done a lot.
Yeah, exactly what Heather said. None of us have any objection to depicting pregnant people in the deck…just, why always the Empress? There are many other ways to symbolize the creative, generative, nurturing power represented by the Empress and many other cards where it would be interesting to depict pregnancy.
I enjoy my Anna k

Do you already have a time scheduled to read the raven circle series? I am so excited for that 🙌

@@HazelJaneTarot I have never seen the cards in the Shimmering Veil but that does sound like it would be a powerful card. 🙂
