This is why both my 20 year old sons are not dating, in to relationships, or interested in having a family. The threat of ending up having there career or entire life destroyed is not worth it to them.
In the interest of public safety, the courts have had an adverse affect on our society.

I would argue that it was never for public safety. It was 100% feminist doctrine.

Bodily harm is very broad, in itself. Who determines harm? Is a body piercer guilty of sexual assault with bodily harm for performing nipple or labia piercings, bearing in mind that a person cannot consent to bodily harm?
How far can the law reach?

      Consent likely a factor

@@sunsetlights100 as our lovely lawyers mentioned, you can't consent to bodily harm. This is the bit that can trip up the BDSM community and create a sexual assault even if there was consent.

So... Boxing? Hockey? Football? Physiotherapy? Surgery?
Why can there be consent in these areas for injury but if sex is on the mind then there can be no consent?

The law can reach as far as feminists demand it reach

@@janesrob1 ah, very good question. It seems the power of the law wants to reach into the bedroom. It also paints women as victims rather than as adults with responsibility, authority and agency over their own lives. If a woman, drinks then drive, she is held responsible for consenting to get behind the wheel of the car, despite her diminished capacity. If however she has sex after those drinks she is not a responsible person and she has no consent to give. Apparently.

Sexual assault being so broad is it also non gendered? If a woman touches, seduces, or has sex with a man when he is drunk, is that sexual assault? Interestingly we never hear about such things yet men and women are the same?

well even with full on grape, there is a world of double standards, specially if the woman doing it is precieved as convetionally attractive. but also, there are ex. videos of women who started grinding on a guy only to get offended when he walked away. not to mention there are guys(bartenders, doorman) who regularly get touched innapropriately. i am pretty sure its a big "good luck reporting that".

The theoretical law is more or less the same. The defacto law is completely different.

JD Unwin studied 86 societies going back 5,000 years, and every time women achieve equality the society ends - no exceptions!!
Anyone have an idea why? And no, it's not acceptabke that the Crowns' offce loses it's authority to decide if a charge is in the public interest!

So I can consent to a boxing match and then sue my opponent if I get a bloody nose?
Or is this just in a sexual context? If so, how does that make sense?
