We put The Fallacy Detective in our Morning Basket the year my kids were in 8th and 5th grades and they loved it. I learned a ton from it as well. I heard from another Christian YTer that there's things in Wordly Wise as well. We don't use it so I don't have personal experience with it. Love Evan Moor's geography. We did the whole series from K-6th and my kids were always disappointed when they aged out of it.
Prodigy started putting THAT stuff in their games so we kissed it goodbye. Stuff like THAT is why I try to get mostly Christian curriculum. I do shy away from anything Catholic, as we are Protestant, but beyond that I just choose based on what will work for/fit us best. I might not agree 100% with their specific doctrine, but ehh, I know there won't be THAT in it. There might be other propaganda in it however (regarding history and sometimes science), but we cross those bridges when we come to them. After having my children in public school, I'm not playing that game. My then 13-year-old was told she "must be asexual" because she didn't want to engage in certain activities. Um, no. She's 13. She shouldn't want to that with *anyone* at that age. These people are sick and desperately need Jesus. Sorry for the rant lol

I would love to hear more about how your co-op is structured. We are part of more of an enrichment based co-op and there is not much emphasis on any core subjects.
Yay for new books, we love Notgrass, we love Dr. Jason Lisle curriculum, my son just finished his Logic course and he really liked it. I always wanted to try worldly wise and if what you heard is true, I am glad we haven't lol. That Astronomy curriculum looks awesome, I might need to look into the one for my space lover child.

We used WW for a year when A and E were in elementary. We didn’t encounter that particular issue, but it did include stories supporting evolution as fact. We skipped the stories like that to finish the year, but didn’t use it again. Hopefully, you have a good experience with it.

Apologia Who is Gods great but we definitely shortened and skipped some of it - it’s A lot 🤦🏼♀️ Great curriculum choices ! Love your glasses and pretty waves ❤
You mentioned that Apologia has been hard to use at home and the lessons are rather long. I have only used a couple of their books, but I've always broken the lessons up into smaller chunks. A couple of the books I really like and I remember another that was just okay. I'm really curious to hear how your children end up liking them.

I am wondering if the Masterbooks life science is the correct version. You mentioned it was for your second grader. The version you bought is for 5th grade. Masterbooks has a God’s Design Life for beginners that is for grades 1-3. I just thought I would let you know the 2 different versions incase you needed the other one.
We do apologia with our co-op. We do the reading and some note booking at home. They do all the experiments and some pages at home. Sometimes I don’t make them do the pages, or I pick the ones I want. Sometimes we do a UA-cam video instead of reading all of it. I hadn’t heard that about wordly wise either! Curious what you find. In the end, maybe it’ll open up some good conversations.

(Haven’t finished video, but wanted to comment) Hi! I looked at this specific book bc my daughter is also doing it. If I’m not mistaken I saw two things, which I addressed already (besides she already knows the truth) about climate change and evolution section. My daughter started the curriculum last week and the words stuck nicely by 3rd day. (Ok continuing..😅)
