This is a really good EV, not a dinkey toy like Tesla or cheap Kia's, it still feels like a "real" car. Price and range could be a tad better but I really like it and have no regreats buying it.
Range is about 330km in normal driving with ours on 20" wheels.
By the way, regen is stepped by the steering wheel padels.

The rear is powered, and hold the trunk key button down. They also have the kick feature. The setting may be disabled in vehicle customization

The Tesla user interface is not initially intuitive despite its advanced technology and time on market. The RZ450 user interface is simple to use. If you have ever driven a Lexus you can drive this model. Tesla has pros and cons. Lexus the same.

Canadian spec has different steering wheel controls than the US model, interesting. I recall all the other reviews having a powered rear hatch with the ability to open hands free. Weird that the one you reviewed didn't have it. I am cross shopping this and the EV6 GT, special car for different reasons though, so I am trying to inform myself as much as I can of the quirks of each and see if there are any deal breakers for either. Thanks for your review.

Yea Canada sometimes gets different trim levels or options. I was surprised the power hatch wasn’t started but it is on the higher level.

Very nice video! I bought the Luxury version of this car in Dec’23 and absolutely love it. I have a friend who had been looking for a new car. He test drove mine one evening about a month ago and bought a new RZ450e the next day. This car keeps getting “slammed” on UA-cam due to its lower range (196 miles). My mileage keeps going up the more I drive. I’m now up to 216, but would still not take this, or any other EV on a long road trip. Thankfully Lexus gives us a free loaner car under the Lexus Reserve program (up to 30 days for 3 years). I charge maybe once a week on my level 2 charger. When solid state batteries finally get here (hopefully 2027 or 2028), then EVs will become good long road trip vehicles.

I own the 300e because of the increased driving range. I’ve been very happy with it.

This model definitely has the power tail gate. I own one - I think you should correct your comment. You must not have activated it correctly. I enjoyed your review - thank you!

@@luvnca this one didnt have one. It had conventional struts vs screw motors

@@simplygregsterevit’s a base trim, not the top luxury trim. Those wheels are on the base model and no power trunk on the base. This also doesn’t have all the safety features of the luxury

Yes I agree I have the top spec Takumi in UK and it has 20” wheels (looks like you have 18” so yours isn’t the top spec) and powered tailgate too
I think you also said CTS fast charging but I think you meant CCS?
Also the regen braking can be adjusted to suit with the paddle levers on mine
Also I think you need to edit your videos better as a few times you cut yourself off talking into the next clip
Overall I’m happy with my RZ which is my first Lexus and first EV, but think my next EV will have better range tbh

First common sense review of the 450e. Great job.

the car is garbage in frozen canada. not even great for long trips. its vastly overrated and expensive for the low range. This model will be gone in another year. Its a clasice case of lexus sheeple buying something they are not sure about. they are trouncing on tesla and they have no idea hat they are doing and bowing to the sacred cow that toyota is. Me wants a Tesla S with 400km range and 3.0 sec 0-60 for the same price of this jigsaw design.

Pretty much all of these will be charged at home and driven very little on road trips.

Hey Greg. Do you rent out the vehicles, or people lend you them to do reviews? The more I see these videos, the more I want to get an EV. Keep up the vids!!!
