Dio escaped in the coffin he designed. 2 compartments with a reasonable conclusion that DIO had a secret way to open this compartment if he can rig a gem to blast someone's skull
Another interesting fact: As you saw, there´s another power system in play now, the stands. This make so much success that even Marvel copied the concept and some designs in one of the comics from the 90s.

Whelp, I finished part five today... I can’t wait to see your reactions to this season and the rest of the anime!! You already enjoyed the first two parts, so I have no doubt you’ll love this one even more.
Fun fact the manga Jotaro and Joseph (In Part 2) were reading is another manga made by Araki called Baoh By the way you two should watch the end of the credits because sometimes there is an extra scene
Just so you know, by this part, Araki changed the whole power system from Hamon to Stands (we'll see bits and pieces when Hamon is used but it won't be much)... This is because Araki's editor at the time told him that Hamon's tricks are getting old and that he needs a new power system to make things fresh and non-repetitive... That's why he created stands, which, until the current part (Part 8), is the main power system used for each part since this one...
If you want to have an early sight on DIO and his hot new and improved Jostar bod, you should keep watching til the very very end of epsiode 1-3 or 1-4.
For the coffin being both dio's resting place and Erina's escape route, there's three theories fandomside and no explicit explanation. One theory, technically the simplest, is that there was just two coffins (which doesn't actually make sense given we only see one being moved onto the ship but whatever lol). The second is that the coffin has a secret compartment that can open from a different side than the lid & that Dio snuck inside while the boat blew up, which is often touted as the more logical one despite it making no sense how dio could manage to maneuver himself and jonathan's utterly *giant* corpse into the bottom of the coffin without Erina noticing and being justly terrified by it. The third, IMO superior, explanation is that there really just isn't an explanation and the exact details of the ending of part 1 shouldn't matter *that* much to part 3. Its a plot hole if you think about it too hard but like its early Jojo, coherent explanations are for wimps and the main consistencies are with emotional stakes more than issues of physical continuity. Also the intro to this Jojo where he calls his mom a bitch and she's just like "Ok! :D" is probably my favorite introduction of a main joestar. Jotaro isn't even my favorite but the timing on that is brilliant.
6:50 It doesn't look like him. It does look like Jonathan Joestar though. In part 1, Jonathan Joestar told Dio, that if Jonathan dies, he will haunt Dio as a ghost. To me, this is insane.
Kujo Jotaro used to be a sweet cute son who used to respect his mother but now he’s calling his own mother a bitch and the mother says ok. How come the mother is not discipline her son or her father aka his grandfather well disciplined him. Kujo jotaro is cool and my no 1 character but at the same time he like his friends and his mother and his grandfather
It´s the same Coffin, but Dio was hidden in a secret compartment. After Erina was rescued, the coffin just sink to the depths of the ocean.
Which doesn't make since when you think about it how it floated till she was rescued but sinks when she leaves

Thanks! We loving Jotaro. 😏
@Juan Arnesus Pretty sure I watched it on christmas day through patreon, thatd be around 2 weeks ago
5:35 "This is a *STAND* off."
I'm surprised neither of you guys realized that pun.
Sailors: Finds a treasure
Araki: you thought it was a treasure but It was I, DIO.
It's barely shown or said but DIO escaped in 1983 and now we are (i think) in year 1987 which means that DIO is just walking around since 4 years
If u thought last season was crazy then this season is one hundred times more bizarre
I was just passing by, going through all of Jojo's reactions before the Stone Ocean grand finale.
Expect to hear some great music as well in part 3 such as Jotaro's theme, The Noble Pope and one of the best Op songs throughout the series.

You thought I was Dead, but KONO DIO DA!
DIO janai , Katsura da!
😆😆
no word of a lie, I knew a guy in highschool that was 205cm at 17. guy is a literal giant.
It’s not that Dio wants to take Jonathan’s powers as (idk if it was mentioned yet) a stand is the power of your own mind and soul that manifests
I can't wait for you to see Dios stand! but don't worry, I'm not going to spoil it :)
