- From our homes during isolation, we've recorded this song which has become something of a King's Singers classic over the years.
'You are the New Day' is a love song to each new dawn, with all its hope and opportunity. Recording these words this week felt particularly meaningful.

This has always been my favorite song by the King's Singers. It's a true timeless classic.
Oh my gosh, I’ve watched this so many times. Anyone else? Or am I weirdly entranced by this?
I sang briefly with the Kings Singers after they performed in Washington, DC. THEY ASKED ME WHICH OF THEIR VAST REPERTOIRE WAS MY FAVORITE. I SAID "THE Rose because of its tenor part. They began singing and so did other people. I am a true tenor and since I quit smoking, my upper range tops out at Second Soprano
Thank you for posting this performance. I am smiling with happy tears brought on by this extraordinary performance. One day, we will all be able to sing as much as we can. Wouldn't be wonderful if singers all over the globe would begin singing the Hallelujah chorus? 🎶🎵🎼 .
My husband and I listen to this together every morning to start the new day.
I've been a fan of kings singers since I was 3 years old. My parents were obsessed and played their music all the time. I was a kid of the 90s. New Day has been my favorite song from the first time I heard it. I didn't think the original could be duplicated. This new generation of singers has completely blown me away! I cried tears of joy through this whole song. I'm a music snob, so that's a big deal. Thank you.
Can't listen to them without crying. Just beautiful.
It is a time of lead. Things are collapsing and the promise of tomorrow is more collapse, Therefore how refreshing to hear this incandescent song that promises us hope and rejuvenation both in the dawn and the dusk. Thank you, King Singers, you may think you are only singing but YOU ARE DOING A LOT TO BUOY US UP
I heard this behind a PBS promo and spent the next two years trying to find it. So whenever that was to now is how long I have been obsessed with finding it, and hearing it if only one more time.
This is a new day.
This is the best mental treatment I've ever got
Magical.Ever wonder how awesome Jehovah is that he could create beings to sing this? Its like enjoying your favorite food and realizing not only do we need to eat to survive but its quite enjoyable.Praise God.
My thought, as well, when I first heard this, seeing Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as The New Day that greets us with life, to better know His love, and grow closer, by the gift of His Grace, to know him, ever more deeply and be immersed fully in His overwhelming, sustaining, life-giving Love Eternal.
Thanks, King Singers , for singing this uplifting song. 👌😊😊😊🙏🏼🎈
I love to wake early in the morning to hear the birds singing the air is fresh and new, and the sun is beginning to peak through the trees. Bring in the new day!
Thank you so much for sharing so much music, from your homes to our homes! Such lovely harmonies.🎤💗🎶
Had I heard this beautiful song 60years ago in high school, it would have been my favorite my whole life............the ultimate In a Capella singing.
A beloved National Public Radio host in my area played this every day on his show, which I how I discovered it. I had left home after high school, looking for a better life, and this is one of the things I discovered. It's fun to watch this "work at home" recording and see the singers as individuals as well as part of an incredible ensemble.
perfect.
22 years ago, a choir of our dearest male friends sang this from the choir loft at my husband's and my wedding.
What a beautiful gift and a precious memory.
This is a lovely song for a wedding. A friend of mine asked me to sing the bass part as part of a quartet for her wedding. :-)
I like these singers very much. They have divine voices, which is good for the soul.
Flawless acapella singing. Thank you for posting. Much appreciated.
Ms. Glenda Casey was the most amazing choir director and introduced us to this song and the King’s Singers. We had the honor of singing with the King’s Singers at the Myerson Symphony Center and that memory will forever be a highlight of my musical life.
Completely exquisite. Completely King's Singers. New faces, same great music, perfectly executed. Deserves to be listened to as the start of each one of all YOUR new days... Thanks Gentlemen!
Remember I was overwhelmed by this song when Irish MARY O"HARA (born 1935) sang this in her 2nd career . On her LP Scent of Roses, published 1980 , so some 40 years ago already. Now I am overwhelmed again by the King's Singers' version. What a vocal gem. In the new line up of a young generation, fans can only be extremely grateful for the high vocal level. I hope these six will stay for quite awhile. All voices, without exception, bass, 2 baritons, tenor and 2 countertenors are a blessing for the ear. The two counters blend very well and the last newcomer Edward (2nd from the left) has "popstarlooks" by the way! , if you will excuse my off the record remark. But also the other voices (1 counter and tenor) sometimes pair so well , same with the 2 baritons. There is always something to discover. That's why you have to listen many times and each time concentrate on another singer. Six vocalists keep you busy!! Boys, 12 votes from the Netherlands!
You are so 'as one' , you are so young, you are so fresh, you are immense !
Superbly beautiful! THANK YOU.
A great bouquet of voices, and of human beings!
My favourite KS song by a mile, always takes me back to childhood ❤️
Love it! Thank you King’s Singers for singing beautiful music.
Good song I like it
I’ve loved this song since I was a kid! I grew up listening to the King’s Singers, and I have some fond memories of this song being the start of a KS tape my parents played on road trips to visit family in South Carolina (we’re talking 8-10 hours on the road) to help pass the time. To this day, that song strikes a chord deep within me and has the power to take me back to those journeys and the excitement of visiting family and the beauty of the views in the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. Thanks for the memories!
Sublime. Thank you so very much
Io vi amo e vi ringrazio per il vostro canto!
Liked and shared from ACSHEKORA Network Boston Massachusetts 💜🌹💜
This is the song that meant so much to me when I came out and fell in love with a young man...
You are just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
One of my all time favorite King’s Singers tunes. They sound fantastic, as per usual. 😊 ❤️
This song was the reason I joined a ale singing group in the Netherlands named Dubbel Zes. Founded in 1964 and still going strong. every time i hear this song a gives me a new hope for a better world.
I remember singing this back in, oh, maybe 1997? with my school choir. We were on a trip up to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and we were actually sleeping at the aquarium. We all gathered together and sang this to, believe it or not, whales. It is the best out of only a few good memories I have of being a teenager. Thanks for the reminder that there were some really good times back then too. :)
what an experience: here's to more in the future.
That was an amazing trip, eh?
Singing to the whales and their response to our voices was a Spiritual moment of oneness that forever touches my heart.
@@ChristineOlson569 Oh! I remember you!! :D It was one special night.
Merci, c'est très émouvant !

This brought me to tears. What a gift this was. 🌈🖤🌱
Brilliant as always.
YES! This has been my favorite King's Singers song since I first heard it (and sang it) almost 30 years ago! So happy to see it on YT so a whole new generation can experience it
I fell in love with A Capella when I heard the King's Singers as a child. Thank you xx
This song got me through some very tough times in high school and college. Then yesterday after a tough day at work, I log into UA-cam and this was the first video recommended to me. I've lost track of how many times I've listened to it again in the past 24 hours. Thank you for this recording.
How beautiful! I hope things are better at work now.
Wunderschöne Stimmen!
Thank you for recording this classic King's Singers song. I have multiple versions saved and enjoy each one for its own beauty. Thanks!!!!
something about this song always sets my soul longing for something I can't define
Today I need one
its just a sublimely beautiful and wonderfully arranged piece of music and the Kings Singers always do it so well
Your great and sublime singing opens our hearts encouraging the faith in the good of the world.
Mucho muchos años he comenzado cada día escuchando esta canción en la versión antigua porque no encontraba mejor modo de despertarme cada mañana. Vuestro trabajo manteniendo el legado que os dejaron los anteriores cantores es importante.
Verry nice 👍👍👍
I sang this in high school show choir around the year 2001. We adored all the arrangements from King’s Singers! You all sound just immaculate. Lovely!
I’ve enjoyed this group since I was around 5 years old, and every configuration continues to present peerless quality. Thank you for sharing your talents during this stressful, challenging, but hope-filled time 😊
Thank you so much. Absolutely beautifull!!
Absolutely beautiful. A much needed message of hope during these troubled times.
Thank you for covering this again!! My wife and i played the 1987 original version from the New Day album at our wedding and it remains a favorite to this day. Blessings!

Absolutely stunning. Makes me smile and cry at the same time. Well done gents!
Love this song. Thank you, for singing this lovely song. 👌👌👌😊❤️😘🎈🎈
Beautiful Gift Of Music Gentlemen. And So Much Needed🎵
This is a lovely new recording of a great song. It beats the other King's Singers videos of the song on UA-cam. It is great to see this choral group still going, through so many incarnations.
The New Day... A new born Baby arrives... Let's sing this!!
I have loved this piece since I was in high school. It's so pretty. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voices and beautiful music with us.

M’y favorite King’s singers song. Thank you.
Thank you all, I needed this! Well done.
This is the song I heard on PBS 20-odd years ago that moved me. I looked up The King's Singers, and I've been a fan ever since.
Exquisite!!!! I am crying at my work! THANK YOU!
I remember that song I heard on PBS promo in the 90s
I was waiting on this one!!! Beautiful
The lyrics are moving and beautiful in their simplicity. 🎼🎵🎶 I have sung the tenor part when our choir performed this composition.
You are the new day
You are the new day
I will love you more than me
And more than yesterday
If you can but prove to me
You are the new day
Send the sun in time for dawn
Let the birds all hail the morning
Love of life will urge me say
You are the new day
When I lay me down at night
Knowing we must pay
Thoughts occur that this night might
Stay yesterday
Thoughts that we as humans small
Could slow worlds and end it all
Lie around me where they fall
Before the new day
One more day when time is running out
For everyone
Like a breath I knew would come I reach for
The new day
Hope is my philosophy
Just needs days in which to be
Love of life means hope for me
Borne on a new day
You are the new day

Still remember workshopping this song with you (former members) in 1997 at Festival 500 in St. John’s, Canada with my high school choir!
soooo many memories from all state chorus in this songs, gives me chills! AMAZING fellas!!
This has been my favourite piece of choral music for as long as I can remember. It's beautiful and simple and powerful. I'm so excited to get to sing this piece with my university chorale this spring.
Favorite of all time🙌🏼❣️
중학생때 들었던 그룹인데 벌써30년전이라니. 하.... 믿기지않네요 오랜만에들어도 노래는 영원하고 가장가까운 타임머신 입니당
I love the way the dynamic ebb and flow of the original King's Singers' performance just rolls over you. But this performance, in stripping away the "ahs" and "ooos" and instead tightening everything up, the result is an emotional punch in the chest. I do believe It is a remarkable improvement over an already incredible delivery. This is professionalism in its purest form. I first heard this performance a couple months ago, and I just keep coming back to it. I'm moved every single time.
Yes. The original was gorgeous, with the more flowery arrangement. But I love this one more. Sort of letting the words convey a more straightforward message. My husband had a brain hemorrhage as a young father, and I listened to this on my way to and from the hospital. Means a lot to me.
@@chrisdenio3769 Hope your husband is doing well.
I’m amazed by the range they all have with their voices, and Every part of their ranges has such clear and preside pitch and tone
Fine!!! Hi from St.Petersburg
