If you shuffle the cards sideways, the cards that were reversed prior to the shuffling will continue to be reversed after the shuffling, so the reversals would no apply to the reading.

I find reversals so frustrating, and they're not classic tarot reading. The deck has every card you need. Reversals don't mean the opposite of upright, they just mean a lessening of the intensity or impact of an element. But really, they're unnecessary. I find a lot of readers don't know this fact about them, anyway.
I agree that reversals are quite frustrating. It was like that for me in the beginning, but later I studied reverse cards further and realized that they give a bit more depth to the reading, but it's absolutely optional. Tarot on its own is sufficient. However the meaning of the reversals can vary, but in tarot there are no rules so one should trust their intuition in order to know what the cards want to indicate.

Pile one.. tarantula.. pile two is probably my soon to be former partner because he’s a snake in Chinese astrology which is why I didn’t choose that pipe BUT cosmic egg with the snake showed up in Pile 1.
