The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

Well, I would say a lot of these plays are unconventional, but he rarely got his money in poorly. He also was able to fold out a lot of better hands when he did make moves, people just want to gamble and he ran poorly. 9s10s is never a call there let alone there is still action behind. Not to mention he flops him near dead on both boards. Yes, he could’ve avoided those situations. No, he was not just punting his whole stack. guarantee you have seen similar plays from pros but you don’t question it bc they’re “pros”.

Can someone please explain to me the rules of the 'nit game'. For instance, why does a player have to pay a 'nit tax' after losing a particular hand?

    • @chakong
      @chakong Місяць тому +5

The nit game is an agreed upon side game. After the side game begins, each player is given a marker token (nit button). The only way to get rid of your nit button is to win a hand and show your hand. The last person with a token has to pay the nit tax. The nit tax is an agreed upon amount which is determined before the nit game starts (e.g. $300 paid to each player). On a hand with multiple board run outs, only the first runout is counted towards the nit game. If you go bankrupt and lose the nit game, you are still required to pay the nit tax out of pocket.

Unless you’re already famous, you are being selected to fight to the death for the audience’s entertainment, AND NOT TO WIN AT POKER.

9 10 suited plays better than ace king suited vs 44. Pretty far from the best case scenario.

It’s doubtful that they played with their entire bankroll. That is never a good idea even tho the internet likes to romanticize it

Can't watch any Poker at the lodge clips due to the video titles. Literally nobody likes click bait titles, don't know what makes this channel do it so often

Didn’t even make it 5 minutes in. I clicked this video expecting to see a young guy just having bad turns or rivers, or getting out in tough spots. Maybe mis reading the board or his opponents possible holding. Instead is see nfl punter tryouts for the first two hands. Like bro it’s not a tournament. Why would you let the board ride with those holdings? This is the kind of play that just kills me. No skill just f&@k it all in let the board decide my fate without seeing how other people play. Dudes been watching too much rampage.

      This bad ??????
The guy was selected to be on a live stream that’s predicated on
      -insane action
      -huge pots
      - relentless aggression
      - and the fans in the comment section criticizing every step of the way.
You learned nothing about dudes poker game.
He was not there to show off his poker skills. He was there to induce action. Which he did. And unfortunately lost big because of it.
I mean you can have whatever opinion you want….but this isn’t a legit setup.
This is a pre Determined ,
      “okay let’s gets crazy”
      Poker stream.
You can’t judge anyone’s poker ability based on a live stream.
People’s lives can change from these. Look at Robbie. All it takes is for some random person to do something crazy, and next thing you know Social Media is going crazy about them, and they are in high demand.
I couldn’t think of a worse place to try to watch high level or even sound fundamental poker….than a Lodge Live Stream Cash Game.

Patches, you should have blocked your face then reveal it at the end with a pic of you editing the video.
