i have those exact earcups and they really do make a big difference to my M50x's. much more fuller hold around the ear-->much better focus on the audio quality
What a coincidence! I just did the exact same thing to my headband a couple months ago and about to change my ear pads. I have the M50 and my problem with it is the foam is so hard. It hurts the outer part of my ear if I wear it for any longer than an hour.
i have the microfiber ear pads they are amazing for extended wear , although the sound quality goes down a little bit since its not a tight seal around my ears .
I have a big question regarding the headband. In short, I need to know where to find some (universal) headband covers with cushion. Of all the headphones I've tried recently, I was the most comfortable with Audio-Technica ATH-PRO5X (regarding the sound, the size, and the clamp), but I personally have one big problem with them - the headband is a thin leather that pushes into my skull, causing unbearable discomfort I feel even after removing the pairs from my head. And for the things to be complicated enough, the PRO5X seem to have a larger headband than the M-series, so I am not sure whether any M-series headbands would fit. It would be great if there were some universal headband accessories like the Braiwavz earpads, but I was unable to find anything. (Plus, I would prefer a cover over a full headband replacement, as I would not want to break a brand new pairs right at the start.)

I think I've got the same ones and they also fall apart after a couple of years...
Nice. I just ordered the band cover after noticing my headband was peeling. Hope it works out. My pads seem okay for now.

Hell, I bought some wicked cushions for it too. The velour ones. YOLO

I wonder if there's a stuff to apply on the headband to prevent flaking, moisturizer or something ?
I wish there was, but pretty much all faux leather will eventually tear apart like this. I think companies should just stop using faux leather.
moisturizer helps to postpone the flaking
Zippers come on the bottom side.
Looks horrible
