Vanguard got booked up and Kuro Games redid the game in the 10 months before it released. All music in the game currently was made by Kuro Games and not a music studio, so give them some credit

Honestly this should be a main and recurring theme of the game in some way, one that appears throughout the game in other themes similar yo Genshins photon of fluctuation. It pretty much was one of the main things that made me interested in WuWa and it's too god to just get scrapped.

Funfact: PGR's OG login screen bgm was also a vocal banger. But the vocal part only comes on later part of the song so some people tend to forget/skip on it since most of the time you want to login the game quickly. Kuro making this login screen bgm such a banger from the start (especially that early violin) is a good move.
God I just fucking love how Wuthering Waves looks like. The world, the music, everything gives off that "Calm before the storm." type vibe. Reminds me a lot of Death Stranding.

Edit: as of June 15th, 2024 - vanguard apparently changed the youtube title into "CBT theme music", which may give the indication that this OST may have been scrapped by kuro and/or it'll probably no longer be used anymore... if this is true then I am sadly disappointed by this decision.

Considering how the CBT2 Login theme was reused for the Dreamless OST, I think they'll definitely reuse this OST in the climax of the story. I really hope WuWa's story becomes very dark in the future bcuz right now I'm not feeling the post-apocalyptic vibes compared to CBT1.
This song... I can't help but think about what was changed... The game doesn't feel like this. It feels like the players from the other game were the loudest. This song was the thing that made me look forward to the game. The music from the game is good, don't get me wrong, but this feeling is missing and it's not because of the music to be honest. Wuthering Waves right now feels so much like the other game, but with better combat. Kinda wanted the atmosphere, aesthetic and seriousness that I get from PGR. because this song feels like "Initialize" (first start screen theme) from PGR. I hope Vanguard stays on the game if they're the main composers, I like their artists. But I'm just one person. I hope those who complained will continue to play the game... because it was changed for them.
Yeah man, it really feels like the whole tone of the game has changed and they are purposefully avoiding tracks like this because it doesn't fit in with the new direction. When I first saw this game what piqued my interest was the grimdark sci fi post-apocalyptic setting but with every new showcase of the game and each beta, it would just slowly move away from that until now in the official release the game just gives off a completely different vibe from what originally caught my interest.

But I can't be sure since I play it while watching other stuff, although there's a level 120 (or something) bear and the theme there was cool. Most likely the theme that plays with all high level normal discords (I'm grasping at air in terms of lore names lol). Also, I got that audio bug where music stops working. I'm expecting a different style of music since the game is more traditional looking than techy. So more strings. Sorry, feels like a tangent. It could be them, just lowkey to fit the world. But I get what you mean. Like Wintermute said, Kuro might be avoiding certain tracks/styles. All assumptions on my end though.
Tbh i see your point, but i think kuro will still try to do their best in this game, considering early game for pgr was also a bit bleak(i skipped most of the story for the first few chapter) but it got so much better in the middle and now we have the current pgr. FR. I honestly always thought back then that Wuthering Waves would be some kind of music fighting game but open world specially because of this song. The game is still good and I'm so addicted with it being UL 31 as of now but the overall feeling or atmosphere that I think made the game feel so unique before is long gone. It just doesn't hit the same anymore. That's why I keep coming back and back again to this song from time to time wishing they'll bring this back and step up the atmosphere.

Honestly it's a shame they lost good chance for banger ost to make strong initial impression for game. Remember how banger was Wildfire in Honkai Star Rail even tho story wasn't much better than WuWa. With Genshin masterpieces boss ost, PGR's and HSR's bangers wuwa need desperately asap good ost.
I first thought that Kuro changed the whole story to be appealing to casual players. But after the 1.2 story quests, I noticed how dark they got. So if Kuro is trying to start with a light-hearted and then slowly make it darker overtime. Then it's possible that they'll use this OST in the future.
PGR was the one game I could never get bored of, and the music there was absolutely godly, Kuro games and Vanguard studios have proven time after time how capable and skilled they are at what they do. So I really hope the game gets the attention it deserves, it should be ranked extremely high up.
I've been playing this while being in a middle of a very strong tropical storm in the Philippines, really gives you feeling that the world is slowly about to be destroyed and you watch in awe of the sheer power of nature.
Im pretty sure this was used in one of the cutscenes. But only the beginning violin portion really. Im also bummed though that there wasnt more. Was diappointed when i finished the story and thats all there was for music.

This kind of music is actually a well representation of a game with "sound and wave" theme. A current in-game bgm did so many orchestral music like genshin yet unmemorable. Like really, I don't even remember how the bgm, except that the early second phase crownless, inferno rider and a part of an area bgm with a wobble bassy sound-like in the end.

I've been playing this while being in a middle of a very strong tropical storm in the Philippines, really gives you feeling that the world is slowly about to be destroyed and you watch in awe of the sheer power of nature.

Im pretty sure this was used in one of the cutscenes. But only the beginning violin portion really. Im also bummed though that there wasnt more. Was diappointed when i finished the story and thats all there was for music.

I can't seem to find any other songs made by Vanguard used in the game, which is okay if they want, but I don't understand why there wasn't more ost of that type when I finished the story, or when there wasn't that one incredible drop in the BGM when you fight against Crownless although it was here in the CBT. The music right now is good, but it could be way more better because I know Kuro is able to.
@Elysis. Exactly. I heard they parted ways with vanguard which is why alot of the vanguard songs are gone in global release. My favorite ost was the impertinence heron ost but they replaced it with a mid ass generic sound track
This kind of music is actually a well representation of a game with "sound and wave" theme. A current in-game bgm did so many orchestral music like genshin yet unmemorable. Like really, I don't even remember how the bgm, except that the early second phase crownless, inferno rider and a part of an area bgm with a wobble bassy sound-like in the end.
Yeah i agree, there are only Jiyan quest ost, Deerslumber lake track and Antinomia ost battle bring Flow vibe, the other is just orchestra. ;-; Hope they could bring back Flow vibe

It really did, the game is still fun though but you can tell the game had this sick vibe to it in the tech test compared to now...

The funny thing is that this is somewhat of a repeat of PGR's initial beginning as well
It was constantly compared to another game and labelled as a copycat (PGR with HI3, and now WW with GI) and with all of its issues on launch, people had thought it was going to be very short-lived
It has been three years since its incredibly rocky beginning in 2021, but PGR ended up being one of the most successful games, with a great story and for a lot of people the very best of ARPG combat
Have faith in Kuro, the initial start may seem weak but it will get better

now the "we rewrote the whole story" sounds very depressing

I wish somehow they put settings to customise saturation of environment. Dark environment theme fits better than more vibrance in wuwa imo
