    I still have an entire E180 VHS tape I kept solely for this.
    I once wrote a blog entry on reworked songs. This is what I wrote about this number: -
    "Here we have a complete reworking of a 5 piece rock band's pop hit into a minimal brooding drone which gradually intensifies to a defiant shouter. There are nice contrasts: -
    P.J. Harvey's motionless cool demeanour and Björk's fiery inability to stand still,
    Björk's rudimentary keyboard accompaniment of droning chords and PJ Harvey's loose, distorted choppy guitar playing,
    PJ Harvey's restrained sardonic vocals and Björk's unrestrained free-form improvisatory vocals.
    I think their performance turns the whole song on its head, and what seems a cocky male complaint about consumer and sexual gratification becomes an almost feminist statement of resistance to that attitude, ending in the final shouted line, "That's what I say!""

      I think that they got to the "top pf their game" later in the nineties, I mean, they had really good albums at this time, but for me, their primes are in the late nineties (post, tbyml, is this desire?, homogenic) and in the early two thousands (vespertine and stories)

    • @whssy
      @whssy 7 місяців тому +66

      The funny thing is that the "nine year old" is actually five years older than the "14 year old goth sister".
      They're both masterful in this... but Polly Jane was only 24 or 25 and only 2 years into her recording career, while Bjork was about 29, with 18 years in the industry behind her. And the mother of an 8 year old.

    • @laliloub
      @laliloub 7 місяців тому +11

      @@whssy Thanks, so interesting! I don't know if they have themselves to thank for for how young they look (thank you DNA), but it always blows me away, particularly Bjôrk who never seems to age even to this day.

      @reuireuiop0 6 місяців тому +9

      @@whssy Ah, thanks for that, I got the impression right away they're quite a bit younger than today. Plus, my thought _howe would this have sounded with Sinead instead of Björk_

    When I watch your video, it feels like an ecstatic and pleasant wind brushes my cheeks as the sun goes down in the field and evening. Even if it's just a passing relationship that I've never seen offline or don't know the name of, even if it's over a mountain or across the sea, even if it's far away, like this in the online UA-cam world. Thank you for the algorithm that you can meet with great images. Like a grain of sand on the beach, I am very lucky to have accidentally encountered an algorithm introduction video among countless videos. Even if strong waves are swept away in the vast expansive and fantastic space of UA-cam, I will not forget the relationship we met with your beautiful video for a long time. When I watch your videos on UA-cam, everything feels like a dream. Your videos shine the brightest on my UA-cam window right now. I'm happy that I finally found what I'm looking for. I want to share the stories that happened while making your UA-cam video by sitting next to a bonfire by the river with a beautiful view. Life is like a bonfire that disappears without a word, leaving ashes in the smoke. Please continue to upload your wonderful videos often. How did you have such a wonderful talent that is full of the mysterious charm of your video? Just because the thumbnail caught my eye, I accidentally saw your video, and I liked it the most and fell in love with your channel. Your video is the best. Your video, which I feel was made with unsparing sincerity, has a feeling that positive energy will surely come to you in the future and will receive a lot of love soon, so my heart is very happy. At this moment when a little nostalgia approached, I caught my eye on your UA-cam window, passing by an unknown and mysterious algorithm. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. My past memories that shimmer in your video are stained with nostalgia.
