    We saw that little chunk of wood that stopped up the conveyor. We wanted to point and say, "Could this be it?" White pine Grandpa loved that. He thought you did a masterful job. Watch out for the mallet. That thing could really smash some fingers!

    Well, the hammer, is one way for ZZ to get "hammered". That pumpkin took his fate well. You sure do have good friends. Those guys drove from far away, brought gifts and gave a helping hand. It looks like the logs behaved themselves and gave you a good yield. It is good to see you and your friends. Good job on the video.

    Six o’clock in the morning nice pine boards coming off the mill and sliced pumpkin, I’m up early dogs insist on breakfast at six and I’m having English breakfast dogs fancy my breakfast as well , I’m having the week off this knee is healing slow anyway you guys have a nice day

    I enjoyed the pumpkin! We grew 3 acres of them this year. We started with 1800 and are down to the last 400 we are doing donations on from now until they are gone. 300 of them are Dickinsons, Dutch Fork and Kentucky Fields that you make pies out of.

    With our Head Sawyer we knew we was gonna have a rough day when he started listening to Bluegrass music. That saw would be flying and the forklifts would have a hard time catching up. He was just having fun.

    Hey Mark,
    I have been following your channel for nearly two (2) years now ! I have really enjoyed following along, but have one big question. I mean no harm and ask with all due respect :-
    "When do you, if you do, clean up under over and on your sawmill ? I've noticed a fairly large build-up of debris, off cuts of logs etc, around your equipment and wondered when you have a big cleanup day/s and getting things ship-shape ? I certainly realize this is not a medical facility, but I'm sure you clean up at some point ? As I said earlier, this is not meant as criticism, but merely a query. I certainly will continue watching your channel, regardless !! God Bless y'all !!

    I do love (especially the 2nd log) the purty pink and blue pine. But does the pink fade over time? Sure would make some unique paneling in a house, shop, etc.. Poor, poor, pitiful pumpkin 🎃 😢!

    You guys should make a short trip out west to Groveport, OH and check out Peerless Saw Co. If I'm not mistaken, that's where the saw-bodies are manufactured before being shipped to Payne for tipping and finishing...

    😊😊 HI MARK all of the old people many years ago use 2 fix homemade pumpkin 🎃 😊 pies 4 the holidays 😋 😅 they are great 👍 😊 alot better than what U can get out of the stores those people knew how 2 cook 🍳 and season food the watermelon 🍉 😊 is great 👍 😊 also the colder it is the better it taste U have 2 get the good 1S the seed less aren't much 😮😮 OMG 1O 28 2O24

    Up here in Maine, we do Pumpkins vs Potatoes. The pumpkins try to hold their ground, the potatoes are launched at them with a canon. The pumpkins mostly lose, because the canon has a laser sight.

    that belt was stuck for quite few minutes. Hopefully it’s still in good shape. You should paint a few white/yellow whiteness stripes on it would make it visually easier to see if it stalls.

      no damage to the belt , this was the first time something stopped it. the belt has lacing on it that you can see go around but I was looking at the log and Eddies fingers.

    @ 11:30 with Chewy having the advantage of hydraulic pressure against the log, seems like the aggressive teeth could be replaced with something ( Like A Wide Ribbed Rubber Fan Belt ) to cause " less " tear out on the cant. I really don't care that much until I see a " Fine Specimen of Hard Wood " being damaged fight on the board face !

    I am not an engineer, I do some remodel drawings for a friend up in Pennsylvania every now and then. I send him drawing in PDF format and he has them printed out at his printshop of choice.

    Nice cutting! . Great video . Why dont you just cut the last one by , when you're at 3" .and leave a 1 1/2" x 8" . early carpenters sheathed a frame with one by . after plywood was introduced it morphed into "sheeting" how it was sold . To sheath is to cover.Thanks Mark.

    what do they do with a 20 inch wide boards and how do you keep it from cupping and warping besides just good stickering practices ( and spell checker doesn't like stickering and cattywampus LOL )

      It has to be sawed properly like he does by turning the log taking a board then turning and taking again so the growth rings are laying the correct way in each board having weight on your bundles and staying out of the sun with help with cupping and staying flat

      it wouldn't last for one log , the steel points on the turner wear out and some of the logs we saw weigh up to 4 thousand pounds.

    Why can't I see the laser on the forward end of the log before the first and all the cuts- but I can see the laser on the middle of the log when you turn it?
