The lyrics "Hold on, and there will be Tomorrow, In time, you'll find your wayyyyyy" especially resonated with me and helped me to reach another day when sometimes I didn't know if I would. Those lyrics above are like a mantra for me when life it tough, I'm ill or running out of patience I just say to myself, hold on there will be tomorrow, in time I will find my way " Thank you Mariah for the inspirational song and helping me. I love you. I was also blessed to see Mariah sing Hero Live in my home City Glasgow in Scotland, UK last year in 2016 at the Hydro on the first night of her European Tour. An unforgettable night. Because of vocal nodules it depends on how inflamed they are which depends on how well rested she is, the humidity in her room at night etc. The nodules often create a raspy hoarse sound in some parts of the voice but other parts of her vocal cords remain unaffected and able to fully close with great eduction!! I'm thinking that may be a polyphonic tone. Sometimes if she pushes too hard her whistle tones try to come out. Check out her performance of "Bye Bye" on American Idol for a similar sound.

I think the music industry is lacking in powerful and authentic singers :( a lot of singers also seem to be lacking some sort of star quality as well but that’s just my opinion.
Now, check out this performance (which, by the way, was during a phase where she was already experiencing some "vocal decline") and compare it to the Abu Dhabi concerts in 2024... back in 2009, even with the vocal "decline," her voice still sounded clean, agile, and with considerable power! Even in that period (2009), many folks were surprised by her voice, significantly changed compared to the '90s (like the Music Box album). But then, let's time travel to 2023-2024. Do you notice how what was considered a "decline" in 2009 now seems even worse? Like, the vocal quality seems seriously compromised... she only sings bits of each song, humming here and there, but that's about it. The only song where I noticed her singing without lip-syncing or anything was "Hero," and even then, there were lip-synced parts. Anyway, I hope she gets back to singing. I want to hear her voice come straight from her, no playbacks or anything. Yes, she's human, and I totally get that! But turning a blind eye to evident issues isn't love, sorry. And, she doesn't need to belt out like before or do all sorts of unimaginable vocal acrobatics... It would be nice to hear her sing, even with a simpler voice without many techniques, etc. I'm rooting for the best for her. 🎤

The way she dresses lately makes me mad at her because she's way better than that, she doesn't need to uncover her body but even if she had to it still wouldn't look nice because she has a sophisticated "je ne sais quoi" persona. Now, I just realized that this might be my most favorite feel good about oneself and the whole world song, specially in this scary and uncertain time.
