Thank you for the feedback. We really enjoy doing these and its good to know other people also feel the same. If you have any ideas for topics, let us know and we'll try to do a show about that. We want to talk about things our viewers are interested in.

    Great video.
Definitely expats should conform to the local language and customs; not the other way around.
I have a question. Techncally, aren't you supposed to register your presence with the police;after so many days? For example, when you go to Italy to stay in your property?

Its actually complicated, and then not. According to the law foreigners are all required to register, but if you arrive on a direct flight from your country to Italy to the stamp you get in your passport is enough. We have never flown directly from the US to Italy and have never regstered and never been asked by the police if we have. The first time we came to Scalea we rented an AirBNB and at the complex we were renting at the security started to hassle us about registering and our Italian real estate agent told them to mind their own business and leave us alone. They were very nice to us after that.

@@OurUnspoiledItaly I understand that it's not a rule that's really enforced. That's the reason why hotels get a copy of your passport, supposedly to give to the police..
I have dual Italian citizenship through ancestry and enter Europe with my Italian passport and the hotels make a copy of my passport as well.
