@@johnwynne-qx6br I know how that is. ! I spent many years wishing I had my own mechanical instrument but I also thought it was out of reach for me. I can’t drive for one. So that limits the size of instrument I can have. And I like upstairs But then an opportunity came up and I just had to ! And it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. So keep on aiming for the dream and I hope some day to find some videos on your channel you playing your very own! I also have plenty of friends that have hand turned organs though I don’t always see them. And I’ll always ask to crank and make a video so I can upload a variety of instruments. My organ is the little green Raffin 20/31 I also have 2 other organs here but they need to be repaired or completed first. One is a small pinned barrel organ with children’s songs. And the other is a John smith senior that wasn’t complete when it came my way
Oh my gosh, I finally know what this song is! In my neighborhood there is an ice cream truck that plays this song, and I always wondered what it was! Also, I love this little hand organ, thank you for sharing!
You are very welcome ! I’m glad I can help you work out the song title. - It was a joy to play this organ ! Whenever I see one I always ask for a crank!
Thank you! Oh no I still have many more to find in person! But of course I always ask for a go and if it is possible to film with permission to upload the video! I love travelling around finding different organs! The next two days are busy with 2 organ fiends and our organs. And I am sure we will have yet more content! That and my recent visit to Germany. I have plenty of materials to upload to the channel!
I’m not sure it is either actually! Definitely not mine. But I don’t know who has arranged this version. I need to see if I have the same one on my organ. I have a couple of different version here
@@thecrankjonkie2391hi im from Mexico. here we have that we call "Organilleros" but those machines are to old, and those cilinders are damage, and sounds ugly. theres a way to buy new cilinders ???
@@orionburton3829 hello ! I have seen people in Mexico and Chile making new cylinders but i am not sure of the exact source. Let me see if i can find someone to reply to you and guide you on where you could look over there
This organ is within the means of many craftsmen. Are the pipes all wooden? The plans on paper, and tutorial on DVD, will sell. I'll be waiting... please hurry up. And do you have the roll for flying trapeze?
This particular organ was built by Alan Pell. Not a kit organ. I’m not entirely sure if there are any existing purchasable kit organs still around. I certainly haven’t heard of any in recent times Maybe in Australia…. ! Here. You can buy plans for John smith organs (I believe this one has a recorded instruction as well as paper). and Walter Höffle organs and build it yourself according to the measurements As for flying trapeze. The man with the flying trapeze I assume? I just listened here on UA-cam. I recognise that music but I haven’t heard it playing on a small crank organ so far. Though I think it should be possible to arrange the music. I do make arrangements for 20 notes but at the moment my list is stacked up of music to have a go at I’m getting through it slowly but the problem is making a good arrangement takes time. Thinking of music to arrange takes far less! If you want to hear a piece I have arranged check my UA-cam channel for recent videos. One from Roy Orbison, Penny arcade I shall be interested to know what you think!
