  • In the final chapter of this lecture, Ram Dass stresses the importance of finding harmony through freeing yourself from your own ego-driven melodramas, the "spinoff" effect of treating others with love, and living in the light.
Recorded on April 18, 1970 in Dublin, New Hampshire at the Cumbres Growth Centre.

I remember a long time ago, long before I’d even heard of any of this awakeking/enlightment stuff, I attended a yoga festival in Rishikesh (in India) with my mom. And before dinner every night there was this gathering by the river where we sang songs like theese and remember the first 3-4 days I was so angry, annoyed, hungry, irritated, and the singing seemed to go on forever. But after 3-4 days I sort of gave up and that experience was the most important of the whole India trip - just to for the first time for me actually witness that agitative ego sort of state I operated from back home 100 procent of the time (this was before I had kids). It was so important. I wish to go back there some day and see everything (even the cows that blocks traffic) with new eyes.

The bead story is so funny… hope Ram Das was not too attached to them… but I see he addressed that - the moment I thought that!🙏💕🌎🔥
