Great video. Answered 3 of my questions as I process using dante more in my setups.
Wondering if it has the info integration feature with shure dante enabled wireless mics, where wireless parameters automatically show up on console.

As I am not a very technical deep diver into recording, I still am curious on why it is so hard to make the USB/thumbnail record more than just the two stereo out channels. I meen, look at the Presonus StudioLive series iii. They can record multiple channels to thumbnail, making it a standalone recording mixer. And they are no that expensive compared to their pears.

I think the answer to this is that 1) many bands don't care if their console can record or not, so few people push the manufacturers to include that ability, and 2) there is a HUGE variation in the quality of USB sticks and SD cards. So much so, that many cheap USB sticks can not keep up with the required data rate of recording 16 to 32 channels of 24 bit 48KHz uncompressed WAV audio. Meanwhile, even the cheapest garbage grade USB sticks can usually keep up with the bit rate required to record stereo audio. When a multi track recording fails because the USB stick is garbage, most customers will blame the console, not their tight a55 wallet that refused to spend an extra $10 on a better USB stick or SD card. I've tested a vast array of SD cards on my x32 with an X-Live card (multi-track), and some work, some don't. I keep a little box with all the cards that passed testing ready to load into the mixer for multi track recording of shows. I've even found USB sticks so slow they don't work in the USB slot for stereo recording... and that means it's a dog awful garbage of a USB stick.

Multitrack output does not have anything to do with being a standalone mixer.
A stand-alone mixer would output in stereo 2ch . You’ve already mixed it you don’t need stems unless you want to mix it again.
If you are wanting to recording to a usb drive then take it into a daw , that’s not a standalone recording mixer, you’d just hook it up to the daw.
Logically multitrack print to usb doesn’t make a lot of sense.
If you want that you can get the Tascam model 24 though. It does it.

@@DG-ss1gc - Strongly disagree, sir. Strongly. It's incredibly convenient to just CLICK ONE BUTTON on the console or the remote app & immediately have a full multi track recording happening. Perhaps you work for a big sound company as the lead engineer & have lots of assistants at your command, but I personally have no time to spend on bringing yet another laptop & cabling to a gig, configuring it, testing to make sure all channels are recording & at the proper levels... yes, I've done this on Yamaha & other products without a multi track recorder built in, and it's just way more hassle.
"You've already mixed it..." again, I sense the attitude of a lead engineer at a large company in this statement... in small clubs where musicians insist on using their own amps, the FoH mix can be wildly different than what is heard in the room. Frequently a mix that sounds good in a small room will be light on acoustic drums, light on guitar, and perhaps light on bass, depending on the size of the bass amp. On most mixers with 2 track stereo recorders, the FoH mix is what is recorded to the 2 track... thus your stereo recording is going to sound like balls... heavy on vocals, heavy on keys, light on everything else. The only way to ensure that a recording sounds great no matter what is to multi track it. And the easiest way to multi track it is one touch multi track record to USB, SSD or SD / microSD.
And being able to one click multi track record the band you are mixing is an amazing learning tool. Even when I have no intention of publishing the recording or sharing it with the band, being able to go back & play with the tracks to see if there was a better way of doing things is the best learning tool ever invented, IMO. I would probably never do this if I had to take the extra time of setting up a DAW at the show.

I don't understand yamaha, they have the tf series which fall below behringer only because the lack of flexibility, if they only fixed the tf series and not spend money on a already limited utility series.
