Not sure how people see this music as eerie. It's just gorgeous with a hint of mystery. This whole OST is beautiful. Then again I was...hmm, 14 when I played this i think? Prolly older than a lotta the commenters in here
This one, and the Kunka Ruins sort of remix are for sure my favorites. As a kid, and even now, I have a weird obsession with beautifully eerie video game music (for some of my favorite tracks see 'deep castle' from Mario and luigi's inside story, 'shrine' from breath of the wild and '4am' from animal crossing new leaf)
Totally agree! There's something really special about tracks like this, they really do stick out. It's pretty funny that as a kid this track scared me to a point where I had to mute the TV :P But man I have nothing but appreciation for it now. The caves and the ruins just feel so... threatening and mysterious, that sort of feeling that something's always looking over your shoulder. The tracks here really do help that feeling. It's a little ominous but also beautiful in it's own right, much like the locations themselves are. Not sure how into Pokemon you are, but I think that sort of beautiful eerie-ness and that subtle feeling that something is off/something is watching you is exactly why something like the recent Area Zero theme from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet hits as much as it does. Totally recommend that track if you're into those sorts of songs!
@@subjectx3391 OMG it's amazing! My brother was telling me that Toby Fox, the creator of undertake did a lot of the music in that game and just as I started playing it it sounded so much like undertale, you can totally hear Toby Fox in there! Undertale has a bunch of songs like that. Fallen Down (reprise) and Another Medium are great examples. Song of Healing from Majoras Mask is another eerie song that I adore.
@@subjectx3391 I totally agree, I love songs like this and Pokemon ones too! I grew up with Pokemon games and they are among my favorites (song wise too) as far as video games go. Thanks so much for uploading The Dog Island music btw, how did you do it? I can't find them anywhere else.
@@paravel I ripped them directly from the game files! I initially just wanted the high quality versions of these songs for myself (as I'd been looking for some of them for YEARS) but decided, hey, why not just upload here!
It really was horrifying, I was four when I played it but the caves were way too scary so I got my mum to do that part for me
Oh, my God! Same! I was WAY too scared to play in the caves so my mom would either play it for me or sit beside me as support. 😂
That is adorable lmao

This part of the game scared the hell out of me as kid! Especially those bats.
This has to be one of, if not the most underrated game soundtrack of all time !!!
