I have the S variant of the compass and I would say that the features provided are really amazing. Especially the 360 degree camera which is very useful. The ventilated seats work amazingly and are a life saver on a hot day. Apart from the features, I would say the S also gives cosmetic upgrades from the limited which like the body colour gliders and grey roof etc....Which was an absolute must have for me as it looks much better.

Perfectly explained especially on which variant is value-for-money and I totally agree it is the sport variant. I really don't understand why jeep did not make a 4x2 diesel automatic since the real-life mileage for petrol automatic has been terrible.

Jeep should come out with a 4X2 diesel with automatic transmission. There are a lot of people who may prefer the Jeep Compass exclusively for their every day use, city and long drives, and do not need the off road capabilities. That one would definitely be a hit.

You mentioned that Longitude is not worth the extra 1.8L. Can you please tell howmuch according to you should be the price difference between sport and longitude? Trying to understand if I should consider longitude at all or not.
Sport variant unfortunately does not come in the 2 new colours - metallic green and blue. So if someone wants compass in these 2 colours longitude is the cheapest option.

I absolutely loved the review and believe sports is the right choice for me. But these fabric door inserts don't look good. There should have been an option of black soft plastic - if not leather.

Yes, you may opt for the non-fog lamp variant and if you deem it to be a must have feature then you may have it installed afterwards.
What about roof rails,can it be installed😁
See even if you buy no fog lamp variant then too you can get installed from your Jeep dealer itself. I had done this with my Elite i20 in 2018. I bought Magna variant and told him that install a reverse camera and fog lamps for my car in my variant price itself and they did so.

Considering both harrier n compass comes with same diesel engine. Would u recommend compass diesel manual over harrier diesel manual. My shortlist is harrier xz n compass limited variant. Compass commands a premium of 6.5 lakh over harrier. Compass is smaller and got no service center in my town. Still feels a lot more premium both exterior n interior.

Anyone who doesn't want to overshoot the Budget by almost 10 to 12 lacs should never test drive Jeep Compass and should close his eyes and strictly not see the next variant.

Dont with 80th anniversary . Its juat a cosmetic update on limited optional and also misses out on few useful featires found on limited variant. Better to go with limited if you are ready to pay premium else sports fits best to every laysman requiremwnt

Is the diesel engine more powerful?
The diesel engine we drove continues to perform just like before. It offers good performance and continues to perform excellently under the 3,000rpm mark. You never really feel the need to rev it past that as it offers good bottom end and mid-range grunt. And if you do, it revs all the way to the 4600rpm red line without a fuss. It however does make a racket when you do so. The 9-speed auto gearbox in our test car also continued to perform just like before. It’s quite smooth in its shifts but if you are looking for an electric driving experience, then the gearbox does feel a little slow in its shifts. Overall though, this powertrain combo works quite well in the city and out on the highway as well.
