Me, having only ever seen footage of Cylons doing the big slow "Terminator Walk" around the place: "How hard can it be to headshot something that's slowly walking towards you?"
Me, Seeing Cylons moving at a dead sprint and leaping a solid 10 feet through the air like an Olympic Long-jumper: "oh."
I love how the first one comes through the door, scanning around and the second one comes barreling through even bumping into the first one and just keeps going.
I love how even with the cognitive inhibitors, the centurions are still act vicious, feral and resourceful in combat. They're not just wind up tin soldiers, they're animals.
They are definitely Alive, and when you watch them close enough, you can see them express emotions like rage and frustration!
lol your opinion does not matter with that avatar
True. While the OG bsg was good, one thing they needed were centurions that actually made me sh*t bricks when I saw them. Too many actions scenes from movies and TV just have these rando redshirts with stormtrooper aim, and then you have the reimagined BSG, where five ordinary enemy soldiers can just go commando and yeet an entire battleship/assault carrier into confusion and chaos. I also like how smart the centurions are with science and engineering, it truly makes them feel like robot soldiers, like they're intelligent. That one episode where a small squad of cylons build an AA battery out of the wreckage of an _enemy_ ship made me sweat buckets
They're animals *with* the cognitive inhibitors, because they restrict higher brain functions. Freed from the inhibitors they become more human and less animalistic.
@@PS-mw9cc Yup. The scene where Helo was in close-quarters combat with that centurion on Caprica (the one that was dragging the bound and beat up Sharon) was terrifying, even when it's corpse fell on him.
At times like this I can't help but quote HISHE: Alright "everyone-not-a-main-character," try not to die!!!
And everyone not a named character..... Good luck, random unnamed marines. I'm sure you'll be fine. You are no doubt more experienced and better combat trained for infantry fighting than the pilots you're rolling with.....
Billy, Jammer, Dee, and Kat don't make it to the end of the series, so that really doesn't apply here.
2:34
First Cylon: "Reach for the sky, meatba-"
Second Cylon: "Move, stupid!"
Second Cylon Outta my way he's mine!
First Cylon: Hey wait for me!
Dibs on Kat!
Last one to the humans is a rotten raider!
"headshot, reload, headshot, reload headshot." Ever since I first saw this scene I find myself reciting that in any shooter when I'm trying to concentrate.
Nothing like the stupidity of reloading when there's still 28 out of 30 rounds in the mag, hahaha Gotta love games
@@jonny-b4954 but what if I really need those extra 2 rounds man? Confessions of a chronic reloader.
@@williamcostigan91 I have had it make a difference before. Mostly in tightly balanced games like Halo where that bullet can make a difference. But really, more times than not I'm caught needlessly reloading and killed haha
@@jonny-b4954 I hear ya, when you've only got 36 rounds in your BR and 14-15 in your DMR you need every last one.
Lol, me too.
Never noticed before how the second Centurion just barges past the first one that opened the door at 2:36.
I think it is like Cavil or Scar. Lived many lives and is just bloodthirsty for payback.
Centurians don't resurrect like Raiders though. They're mass produced so it's not worth the hassle to resurrect one when more are constantly made anyways. So it makes zero sense for one to have " past memory."
@@IWasaTeenageTeenWolf actually it does make sense, resurrecting the centurions means that the centurions will still have all of its previous experience, meaning with death, it will only get more skilled.
The cylon version of Leroy Jenkins.
'Get to Aft Damage Control RIGHT FRACKING NOW Mister. Get there before the Cylons or we lose the ship!'
'Aft Damage Control, RFN, On our way, Apollo out'
The scene before this one is one of my favorite in the entire show.
Every scene involving Col. Saul Tigh is epic.
@@VaniFoxOfficial Agreed!
I have the say, the Centurions in this are a lot scarier than the original series. Then, too, the laser pistols the original show used were a lot more capable of taking them down.
the best sci-fi show ever created!
Ștefan Crîjanovschii Well, if the end of the Pegasus wasn’t that ridiculous, I’d agree 100%
Hold on The Expanse gives it a run for its Money
@@alanfontaine586 Wrong, B5 holds that honour.
And that's why people should have at least basic firearms safety and operations training before being allowed to hold a loaded weapon.
Lords of Kobol know I loved the original show, but this version transcends it. The 1970s BSG was essentially a kids' show, and those Cylons weren't frightening or effective. These Cylons are truly terrifying.
I miss this series. Thank the gods i got the Collector DVD set.
How do the Centurions have enough ammunition for this? Their bodies do not look large enough to hold a significant amount of the calibre they fire.
They used an infinite ammo code.
they typed in sv_cheats_1 and exploited the givecurrent ammo command, seems they forgot about using godmode though.
IDFA
BSG is sometimes playing it fast and loose with plausibility & realism, if you hadn't noticed. ;P
maybe their ammo is like really really small and thin.
super high tech ammo they built. less accurate but balances out by the sheer volume.
thats my headcanon
I didn't catch this as a kid back in 05, or whatever, but having been in the Army I now know most explosive munitions, named the M203 round, requires X-Rotations before arming. Apparently that isn't true for BSG's rocket propelled munitions, but that seems like a good way to set off a frag grenade in your face... kinda like what Lee just did.
Centurions enabled built in MG-42 unlimited ammo & cooling cheat.
Maybe the Cylons got caseless ammo to work properly and thus have large ammo stores compared to the firearms the Colonials were using.
@@PumpkinHoard i assume they stored the ammos within thier chassis, so they would have a great deal of ammo.
And speed hacks
Colonials: *Fires pistols*
Cylon Centurion: That's cute... *Fires Machinegun*
Hopefully those crates they're using for cover aren't full of munitions....
2:54 Cylon, “What was that?”
Can you please... *PLEASE* upload the scene were Laura interrogates baltar&threatens to throw him out the air lock
Yeah I don't know how Colonial Marines can fight those terminators with basic firearms...
Ah yes the Cylons Guns... making bullets out of nothing... Wonderful.
They share the same bullet supply as the turret bots in Portal 2
I really cant wait for the new series!!! Any info on that?
Wait what?!
@@cam_p_bells Details are very fuzzy. Apparently it will be on Peacock.
Well I saw a vid over it, it sounds like it will be a prequel to this show, so quite probably in the first War, though the details are vague
Hopefully it will not be a woke sh*tshow
I really wish Billy would have stayed with the show. The character was written out because the actor that played him, Paul Campbell, did not want to commit to a 5 year contract. I have a feeling he might be regretting that decision. I have often thought that Billy could have been one of the Final Five, or, even better, the Cylon mastermind behind it all.
I would've preferred Billy as a cylon over Tory I think
This was intense !!!
This is the only part I hated when they said they needed he rounds to kill the centurions but never mention it again
explained away that these are specially-armored boarding-party centurions, but the cumbersome distinction was discarded
@@dreamcore for real I missed that like all 6 times lol so the cylons had specific boarding units? And do you know if thier were any other specialized units like special forces etc or were they just massed produced and interchangeable
@@nfldend501 from the Galactica Wiki:
_Some versions of the Centurion wield markedly improved armor. A platoon of Centurions that boarded_ Galactica _were unaffected by standard weaponry; subdued only by armor-piercing explosive rounds ("Valley of Darkness"). Other Centurions appeared to be constructed from an alloy that is much lighter than that used in earlier models. During combat aboard the Colony, loyalist Centurions of the newer type were cut down by Colonial fire more forcefully than the earlier 0005 models ("Daybreak, Part II")._
Personally, though, I suspect the writers just write themselves into a corner sometimes.
@@dreamcore Well, considering they board by crashing a heavy raider into a ship's landing bay, it stands to reason the 'boarding party' has to be made of tougher stuff than the average bot.
@@nickmitsialis Not to mention the fact that the Counter-Boarding Teams know the ship interior which means that they can easily setup ambushes. If the Colonial Fleet was smart, no two ships would have identical interior layouts. It leaves the enemy essentially bumbling about, thus they would know the general location of where their objective: Aft Damage Control is if they've boarded ships of the same class before. But they would still have to find it first.
Not to mention, any boarding action would be close quarters hell.
Marines always the ones getting wasted
Good show, good scene, but....... their marine recruitment requirements are quite bad. What kind of a soldier just stands upright - mid-firefight - from behind a good cover like that? I know it's all a show and maybe they deserved to be shot but jeez, why do the writers make them so stupid? :D
Does anyone know the name of the song that starts when Roslin finds out about the bullet holes?
Metamorphosis One by Philip Glass.
@@Arkalius80 thanks a lot!

@@VaniFoxOfficial
Show some respect. He is the chosen one.
In the future..... guns will become single shot and somehow that will be an advancement.
Not watching it again to check but it had something to do with the large explosive rounds they needed to use, so presumably those are not their usual sidearms
Only because of the special ammunition they were using against these Cylons.
This was not in the future.
