Can you leave the poster as default? I don’t want emoji or photo or abbreviations, just let’s say black background. Is it possible?
When someone calls me, it doesn't show anything ? How can I fix it ? I did edit their contacts like putting their pictures and so on
how to change and apply same colour and text to all contacts (irrespective of photos)
You can’t apply it as a whole to each, you have to do it individually. However, you only create a poster for your contacts if you don’t want to see their poster. The way it works is your poster will show up when you call them and their poster that they create will show up on your phone when they call. If you change their contact poster then their created poster that they made will not show.
I’m still trying to get it to work, one of my contacts text me and I seen there’s pop up the contact ID they set up but how do I know for sure mines is
If it’s created it is set up but you have some settings if you go back into your contact card and under your card you will see an option called contact photo and poster. Tap it and set it to what you want. I have it set to always ask, then if I call someone it prompts me and I can send the contact card or not.
I just updated my iPhone to iOS 17 and a lot of my contacts already have a photo for their contact photo… do I have to go in and create a new poster for all these contacts?
You can leave them as is. If they update their contact poster on their phone and they are in your contacts, whatever they created will pop up on your phone when they call. Now if you want to create your own contact poster for them you just edit their contact and add what you want. Sometimes you might not like the contact poster they use.
mine worked the first time now it doesnt, if i do this a thing says to set up my contact card in the app but I already have?
Check it again. There is a new setting Apple added now you have to say share or to contacts or to always ask.
for some reason when i create a poster and i zoom the picture out , it auto blurs the background and it doesn’t let me change it
The option on the bottom right “2 square icons” are the depth effects. That should fix it.
hii how do you set this for your own contact? like so that when you name drop your memoji appears?
Should work once the card and poster are set up.

Glad to help! Make sure you check the settings in the card section to allow your card to share to everyone or just contacts. Apple added that in.
If someone has an android and call, can they see the contact poster that was set for yourself ? And can they also see this if they called on WhatsApp?
From what I understand it’s iPhone to iPhone only. I haven’t tested it with WhatsApp but I doubt it would work there.
Is there a select contacts option that can be used so that every contact in your phone doesn't see your poster?
That’s interesting actually. Unfortunately as of now, there isn’t a setting or option I can see for this. You can create a 2nd poster and then manually switch to that one when you call the specific contact.

Yeah, you can use any photo or a mimoji though. You don’t have to use your real picture.
So looks like a new setting popped up. You can go into your contact card options and turn on sharing for the card. You can set it to contacts only or always ask. So this way when you place a call you can choose not to send it. Hope this helps!
@@DHTV Apple made it sound like we could set a separate poster for whomever we wanted. Like assign one poster for our business contacts and another poster for our personal contacts. It’s a little disappointing if we can’t.
What does it mean when contact photo and poster has been “shared” with you????

Yeah pretty much means they updated theirs and chose to share it.
What if the contact has an emoji, the whole contact name and emoji is the same color. Is there a way to change that

@@DHTVthe font for the contact name changes the emoji's color. I'm struggling with this myself. I have an orange heart and sunflower next to a contact name but when I go to customize, it changes the entire name and emojis to a dull color.
I called my friend and he said my contact poster didnt appear on his phone. Only my name in old way. Any way to fix itt? Both phones are iso 17 up to date.
You have to go to the contact poster settings and set your share settings for it.
I created one but it didn't appear for my contacts however they have the latest update , why?
Hmm, well something interesting just popped up on my phone now when I checked my contact card. You have a setting in the customize > edit section. You need to turn on name and photo sharing. It needs to be on for contacts only or always ask.
@@DHTVi enabled it and tried contacts only and ask only, didnt show up for my mom when i called her
It pops up after a ring I believe. I tested it a few times and it did it each time. Try restarting the iPhone and see if it fixes.
you forgot to mention that you actually have to activate this feature in settings so when you call people yours pops up
When I created this the setting wasn’t there. It got added with an update shortly after. You are right though.
Where can It in find the settings ?
In the edit section where you create the card. It is 2 green switches.
