  • Explore the lovely and quaint Warren Street in Hudson New York. With it's art galleries, jewelry stores, antique stores, vintage furniture & clothing stores, there is something for everyone.
    As New Yorkers and Bostonians try to remain close to home, New York's Hudson Valley is as popular as ever. Thankfully, the town of Hudson hasn't rested on its laurels one bit. The past few months have brought a gorgeously designed boutique hotel, a stellar bakery that excels in sourdough, and a slew of new shops to browse. Hudson is often referred to as the Brooklyn of the Hudson Valley, but it has so much more to offer (although if you're looking for that Brooklyn vibe, you can definitely find it here). Fall is the ideal time to plan a weekend (or longer) getaway to Hudson. vogue.com

    How lovely to see so many little independent shops thriving, I really enjoyed seeing some street art and the singer at 10.45 too. Thanks for the introduction to a bit of Hudson, I like it!!

    Fun camera work in a city we love. Wouldn't mind some voiceover too for it.

      Thank you very much and I'm glad that you liked it! I love Hudson as well and live right nearby in Ancram. What area do you live in up here? I hear what your saying about the vo. I have definitely considered doing it for my vids but kind of want them to be more POV type vids that make you feel like you as the viewer are the one that is exploring etc. Plus I really hate the sound of my voice 🤣. Just checked out your channel by the way, like what I'm seeing/ hearing and just subscribed. Cheers 😎

    I have not been to Hudson in a great many years. I grew up in Germantown about 10 miles south of Hudson in the 60's and 70's. Germantown was an old farming community and there was (and still is) no real shopping. We had to go to Hudson for most of our shopping There was grocery stores Grand Union and A&P. Later in the late 60's more shopping was built in Greenport which encircles Hudson. We had Jamesway, Ames, Barkers, Price Chppper and Shoprite. Warren Street was the main street of Hudson and was where most of the stores were.

      I was just in germantown a few weeks ago. That must have been a great place to grow up in! There's still a huge farming community up here which we love. My gf and I live in the Hudson area, so know it well. Warren Street still has some great shops and restaurants etc and we go there all of the time. I hope you get to visit the area in the near future. Cheers!

      You're very welcome and thanks for watching and making a comment. I'm guessing that you were referring to Amsterdam NY? I hope that you enjoyed your visit to Hudson if you made it there on your way. And sorry for my delayed response to you, I've been working on rebranding my YT channel and converting it into an all Hudson Valley related channel. Cheers.

    This is the best walking stream of Warren in Hudson. That lady sitting outside of Olde Hudson thinks you were spying on her. That's pretty hilarious. It's like a NYC scene up there.

    • @DiscoverHudsonValley
      @DiscoverHudsonValley  Рік тому

      Haha, I feel like everyone thinks that I am spying on them when I shoot these pov videos. Yeah, it is very NYC (especially Williamsburg) feeling there. I'm glad that youy liked the video. Thx Beacon, NY!

      @@DiscoverHudsonValley I feel Hudson is more of the other hipster sections in Brooklyn. It's the Cobble and Boerum Hills with an older demographic and a Warren St, coincidentally. But everyone has their own take on what Hudson represents in terms of an outpost of NYC.

    • @DiscoverHudsonValley
      @DiscoverHudsonValley  Рік тому

      @@Beacon_NY I hear ya and well said! I haven't been to those areas in a while hence why I compared it to Williamsburg. Your assessment is probably way more accurate.

      @@DiscoverHudsonValley You might also want to check out another Brooklyn further up north past Albany on the Hudson River. Downtown Troy, NY is this place lined with boutique shops, restaurants, etc...

    All the New York City people moved to Hudson and ruined it !!! It is not the Hudson I grew up in . They made everything so expensive that only the NYC people can afford to live there. I hate what they have made Hudson to be !!!

    • @DiscoverHudsonValley
      @DiscoverHudsonValley  Рік тому +5

      I don't blame you! I never got to visit it before it was ruined but every time that I go there, it reminds me of Williamsburg Brooklyn with all of the wannabe hipsters everywhere. Ugh.

      You are correct. Also the surrounding areas . Too many people here in Columbia county now . Copake Lake is full of citiots

      40 years ago, Columbia County was sort of depressed, at least Hudson was. Now it shines. It's a double edged sword. Some ways it's good, other ways it isn't.

      yes, I can’t wait to leave. It’s not NYC people thats the problem but rather it is the wealthy elite and their spoiled, clueless children. these wealthy families and big development companies are the same people who ruined williamsburg and park slope. I left NYC to find something affordable and cleaner, and lo and behold, Hudson has the the same problems-over-gentrification, insanely inflated rent, businesses glaringly pandering to the wealthy, creative people forced out, etc… Nothing about warren street or Hudson is interesting-it was turned into an elite tourist trap and is inhabited by total jerkoffs.

    • @DiscoverHudsonValley

      Not full on batshit but slightly batshit 🤣. Nothing can compare to NYC and Brooklyn in that regard; I lived in NYC for 20 years. People need to learn to keep their mouths closed.
