seriously real, brand new rod/reel, two to three outings before it gets that smell . I think it's all about new smell, like they need broke in stuff only. 🤔
What I did with mine. Drill small holes, get some spray foam. Put in holes. Made my boat floor solid. Helps flotation also. 🐻👍

You should go to Lowe’s and get turf carpet and to it on the bottom make it look super clean and won’t make the water in the bottom very visible
I know it sounds crazy but you should put a sealant coating on the bottom of your boat. Like flex seal or something you can do yourself. No more leaks maybe? Just an idea to throw out there

Try a big float on both sides of the boat it may help stabilize it
As far as stability on water goes that's were inflatable dinghy's come in. My Saturn 13' takes all of my 215 lbs bulk on the very edge and won't lean or tip almost anything.

FYI, someone probably mentioned it already but that kill switch is designed that way because you’re supposed to put a lanyard on it to flip it off if you fall out. If you get a lanyard, even if you don’t wear it, you can just yank it to kill it quickly.
That last one, had flashbacks to peric, so badly wanted to hear ya say "it was a 10 pounder!!!!"

Yo ayo, consider painting that boat a darker, matte color. That shiny white is reflecting a lot of heat and contributing to your baking issue. You could paint a part black and use a thermal gun (they're cheap) check the differences.

Boat curse is real lol. I just got pulled out from 30 miles up the river, where my boat lays in the middle of said river. Spent two nights trying to float down to our launch. Woke up this morning with ice in the boat. Used carved pegs to try a simple patch. That lasted until the first time we bottomed out the waterlogged back end of the boat. Troopers, helicopter rondeau, sent a river guide up to patch our boat up, couldn’t do so and rode us and out gear out full bore freezing temperatures in the face. Now I got to go get my boat

It be like that sometimes. It takes a few trips to get in the grove of things and get Comfortable. After that it’s a lot easier to relax and just fish. Even though I’ve had my boat for over a year my first trip after not being out for a while I’m a train wreck and do good to catch a dink.

cool videos , the kill switch is hard to get to because it's intended to be used with a safety lanyard attached to your wrist. a mercury lanyard with a loop should work.
