Im 64yrs now. Been a fond curious fan of everything DS has done since being overwhemed by the band Japan. I indulge in everything the guys create, most notably Mick Karn and Steve Barbieri. Was enjoying this aural treat, until an ad for "baked beans" destroyed it all. I love CD's. I pay the cost and treasure all in my collection. My favorite was certainly the Robert Fripp colaboration, the worst was "Blemish"... I simply cried and sold it for $1. Have not heard the re-issue. A fan for life David, thank you for your beautiful music. It is special in deed.
They are ALL my favourites; different songs / music for different emotions and times throughout life - beautiful - beautiful- nothing less then genius forbidden colours is a pure timeless piece of music- so emotional always brings a tear to my eye. such a moving haunting song - INCREDIBLE
I've spend my whole twens with that music. Now more thn 30 years later, I still love it. It can un-do all the shallowness of modern music and lifestyle.
He needs to release a career spanning boxset. I know he has Weatherbox but it needs updating and luxurious packaging. Foldout digipacks of the albums and eps. A beautiful book detailing liner notes for each and maybe even some written commentary by Sylvian himself. Additionally, a few postcards bearing his photographic works would be nice!! I would also like a swimming pool full of money while I am wishing for the impossible!
I wholeheartedly agree, BUT, as I just explained star wars to my daughter, it is the age old problem of We can't control the storyline to our desire, anytime , anywhere, lol
@@LeviTate2000 Not sure I agree.... well I do agree to a point. But then I remembered the _When Loud Weather Buffeted Naoshima_ release. One track for about $30 (now more). And didn't Sylvian create his own label? And that book (Hypergraphia) wasn't exactly cheap LOL! After thinking however, whatever kind of boxset he would release.... I couldn't afford it LOL! Peace.
As a (probably not very good musician myself) Sylvian is the biggest influence on how I do anything musically. It's kind of sad in some respects that his incredible talents never saw a bigger audience. He truly deserves some recognition yet he seems to be quietly fading away.
@@TheCompleteGuitarist Yes, he says he's retired. When he left Japan, he told his manager he didn't want to be famous, he wanted to be like an obscure Left Banke poet...

During my mandatory (March / April 2020) 7 week lockdown from work via the covid pandemic, so many poems were written, thanks to this fantastic album, and others by Japan, Jansen, Karn, Barbieri, etc.
Needs to play more live gigs. Come on Dave sort it out and play the more commercial songs from ALL the genres of your career. Sell some merch at the gigs. its got to be a money earner maybe even enjoyable. I remember when Brilliant Trees came out and we were really excited about getting a copy of it i’m 51 now WTF. 🙂
citic101 I bought em all as well as put them on my playlists so he’s also portable so meh. iTunes would benefit him more ? I prefer YT Red because it has more unusual choices. I pay an admittedly low monthly bill for it and wish the artist saw some of it but they don’t and furthermore can’t afford the absurdly high prices for CDs I’d otherwise have bought. I’ve got an excellent David Sylvian collection but can you imagine the total cost of say Maurizio Bianchi or Coil ? It’s absurd and Amazon can go screw. I’m just saying - if you’ve just scarfed up an artist’s total catalog without the artist seeing penny 1 then most realize that it’s not right. But if you’re seeing the same cd prices I am then your options are; can I listen to this music or am I too poor ? And you know where you can stick that. And I think it’s still legal to boycott Amazon. The very best nearly anyone can offer in this situation is a half assed compromise but I don’t see how to improve the situation.
mybookfacetube You’re right. The mass Sylvian deletion turned out to be just a glitch and pretty much all the stuff is back. I lashed out and I’m sorry. David still loves us.
💜🤘🏾ALL HAIL DAVID SYLVIAN AND JAPAN🤘🏾💜

I think you mean Richard Barbieri, and Steve Jansen, there isnt a Steve Barbieri!

良質のシルヴィアンの曲が入っていてアルバムバージョンでないものもありかなり楽しめた。知らない曲もあり更にシルヴィアンワールドを楽しめる手掛かりができて有り難い。
I cannot express my gratitude.
The instrumental Weathered Wall is such a treasure....
Yes it's fantastic

😂😂😂
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
Food for the Soul, Pure Light🌈
great collection, thanks so much! I own most of Sylvian records and cds, but I started when he went solo after Japan!
That bass tone!
Going to research Mick Karn.
Благодарю.
Love Love love!
Odilon Redon della musica pop sperimentale di oggi. Bravo!!! Solo chi è illuminante e conosce la Grande Opera può creare queste atmosfere sonore.
I remember seeing a Resin and being a paste it had to be in low light.
I've always been a bit of a purist, but DS's back-catalogue could be, in the right hands, the basis for many wonderful remixes.
He has done this. Take a track like Small Metal Gods, there are a couple of versions. I agree with you.
Listen to Modesto Muniz remixes😉
These takes must be absolutely more publicized!
David the Best
とにかく一曲目が好きです!
Nobody do this like that!!! Simply Love it
The man is a pure genius ive folloed him from his japan days

🙏🙏🙏 To you David
what to say ? ...simply amazing.....
zezy demilan AGREED ......
Absolutnie się zgadzam.
Wszystkiego dobrego.
Wonderful!
Mick Karn's base on Buoy is haunting
The bass track has some backwards bits if I recall.

So good!!
really he came into the deep of souls ...and dance
True Sylvian?
I can't believe this.
Blue of Noonは、教授の演奏参加作品の中では最高傑作かも?
great song
Oh my youth...
Was this EP every released on CD? Can't find any reference to it beyond UA-cam.
I was about to ask that very same question. So now an answer would be doubly thanked for
@@1981Marine Thanks for your answer. Much appreciated.
I made it a few years ago, looking back I could've done better on audio clean up as most was from vinyl.
TOP DRAWER WHAT CAN I SAY........
^^^^^thx for diz gem^^^^^
~ cool ~ greetings ~
@randy moreland the bass in the opening track is quite pronounced in this remix.
Like he got someone to emulate the great Mick Karn.
This would make a nice RSD release🤠
Not an official CD.
Does enayone has more information about this album, the only information I have that this is Fan Edition, but when was this created?
Badass.
Defiant songs, just to summarize
Here that Trumpet? C'mon, brain, he had that album.called The City.....Always sounded like that...oh yeah..John Hassel.
but...DS didn't publish an EP with this name.
Who remixed Taking The Veil?
mark keogh Julian Mendelsohn
Sweetness..missed Silver Moon
forbidden version colors giving me serious mushishi or spirited away vibes
I WONDER HOW HE FEELS THAT ALL HIS ALBUMS ARE RIPPED OFF ON YOU TUBE
It's called exposure. Where else will people that don't know him hear him?

if you read all the credits at the top it would appear its not being ripped off at all.
It would appear he's the uploader of this though.
