This helmet from Nolan definitely goes for the fighter pilot look, which honestly is what grabbed my attention when I purchased it. However, the truly lack of any venting is just something I couldn't live with. I think they could have put something on the top, back or sides to help a little, but the little time I wore the helmet it got hotter than I would like. If you are not in a hot climate, I can see where this is maybe more appealing, but not in the midwest humidity! With that said, I did LOVE the extra large sun shade that dropped down, still the largest one I have tested to date.

As Jessica mentioned below, Nolan helmets are motto race-approved and meet higher-level ECE standards. They are 'overbuilt' for extra protection and safety. I own the same Nolan N21 Classic Visor model as shown above, in white. It does look like a bobble head a bit but being large and ball-like it also brings its retro styling to a fore, a perfect fit for a Vespa. Nolan is based in Bergamo, Vespa just outside of Pisa, they are both Italian companies who cooperate well. If you find yourself in Italy you will notice most of their Vespa riders wear Nolan's, as compared to other brands.
Important to mention is that the Nolan helmet meets the ECE requirments, which are stricter than the DOT requirements. If you are looking for something similar with vents, and you like italian, try the Caberg Uptown....
Thanks for the upload - like you said hard to find videos on this one. I ordered one for my wife - waiting on it to come in. She just rides a scooter in town so the lack of vents shouldn't be an issue for her (and I bought a white one - which should be cooler).
How did she go with it? I didn’t know about the no vents and ordered one Friday from Europe. I live in Australia and I hope it’s ok because it’ll be annoying to return. I have an E-scooter

You mentioned you struggled with the Shoei helmet. They tend to fit people with narrow long heads rather than round heads like me. Found this to my cost. Generally speaking, you either have a shoei head or an Arai head, but rarely will both fit.
Why didn't you try the Nolan N21 Vintage Durango? Three vents right up front.
I know you can make an educated guess, but you didn't ride with the helmet on (or at least you shouldn't have returned it if you had) so you don't really know how hot the helmet is, do you?
You based this whole 'review' on 'no vents, I'm sending it back'.

You didn’t strip off guts of the helmet and cover the inner materials. Also, it would be great to talk about if this helmet is prepared to have some sort of intercom system installed.
A bit late for a reply but yes you can pull the whole iner padding in one piece easily and there are caved side over the ears for the speakers inside the helmet. It's easy to sand the polystyrene a little if you feel any pressure on your head as the shape of each individual is different.

If your head gets hot in the sun then buy a white helmet. You don’t really need ventilation on a three-quarter or half face helmet. If you need ventilation you crack the visor open one click and that gives you all the ventilation that you will ever need. There is no need for anything like what you described, and since you admitted they have not ridden very much with the helmet, it is a mistake to have tried to publish this review as it is.
