You are a great mentor . I worked since I was 8 due to my dad was a master mechanic for a total of 55 years. Back then you could bring your kid to work in a shop . he worked in 2 shops as a master mechanic at taxi places . I started by sweeping floors then doing oil changes and by 13 could take a car apart and put it back together again. I did that until I wanted something different . So I went in the NAVY on submarines for 7 years. But I wanted to do 20 but it was not in the cards. I got hurt bad on one leaving me with no use from the waist down. I still wonder today if I would have stayed working on cars if I would have gotten hurt.

I want to do that same you are, and make it a more of a brand then just a small shop! I worked in the mechanics field for 5 years, I just got out because each shop I worked at was terrible to the customer and/or the employees! so now I'm just working anywhere I can till I move!

A well equipment mechanic can make twice as much money in this generation with your cell phone, gps, social media, and all data.
I can even put up a portable tent around a car to shelter me from bad weather ! Why pay high overhead for a shop ! When you can bring your shop to your customer ? And charge less for labor !

Everyday I watch your videos... everyday I question what I want to do. Watching your videos is inspiring me to maybe start me career working as a mechanic. I really always thought about when I was young but never really pursued it because I always though it wouldn't be a job where I can live happily. I never really thought to one day open my own shop but it sounds like an appealing idea. I know it's not going to be easy especially on Long Island where I live but maybe one day I'll be as successful as you man.

hey,really enjoy ur videos, i have been watching it for almost a year, i have an e46 325, but its in bad condition, and i really get tired of working on it. So im wondering if you are still gonna work primary on e46 or something else, cause its really hard to find a good substitute fro e46. I really learned a lot from this channel.

Do you know how I can lower my 325xi in the front a little more? I have bav auto lowering springs and koni struts but till have a super big wheel gap? I'm running 17x10 all around with 215/45/17
You can with coilovers, but this may cause more stress on your axles.
What if you don’t plan to do the work yourself but hire some young kids to do it for basic maintenance. I do have some basic experience maintaining my own car so I was there I know Cars at some level.Would that work OK any tips?

Hey Jason, I have an 02 325xi, it has 16" wheels however I want to fit it with 18" wheels, it has not been lowered at all, will they fit without affecting anything major?
I wouldn't recommend going 18's on an xi, as it will add unneeded stress on the suspension components. But they should fit depending on the offset.

$900 is good as long as it is the complete engine and has been tested (compression and leakdown)

Hey I'm really loving your videos and I have a question for my own beamer. I have a 2002 e46 coupe (325ci) and the radio can't accept an aux. However, I can currently get one from a later model that can hopefully work with an auxiliary input placed in the back of the radio unit. I'm wondering if it's plug and play if the donor car had Harmon Kardon and most likely a Harmon Kardon amplifier. I don't think mine even has an exterior amp, would I have to buy the amplifier as well to get the radio to work?
It is plug and play for the 02 regardless of HK package.

What was the solution for adding an aux plug?
fabian santos worked great! You need to buy an aux adapter that fits into the stock radio, can be found on eBay for cheap. Next, make sure you have a stereo that's been manufactured after Sept. 2002 or it won't work. The aux will only respond and the radio will only switch to aux when it detects a phone. You must have it plugged in. Ask me anything else and I'll try to help

LA is quite a bit different. I was born and raised in NC and wanted a change also CA has amazing weather and there's always something going on. I am doing school online.

My shop is in Alhambra CA now, but you can get tools from harbor freight or any other tool suppliers. In charlotte the car scene is growing rapidly as well so just do a bunch of social media.

Make sure you have space, and buy cars that you see a lot of around your area. Be active on forums or other social media that way people know what you have.

I have a question: I have an e46 320i M54b22, at the first start of the day my red oil lamp stays on a little bit longer than it used to be. its like 1 second. what do you think what causes that? is that the oil pump that is going to die? I really afraid of this because this can cause a serious wear on my engine. pls help
Might be your Oil Level Sensor is getting old - but I remember a yellow oil light coming on with mine...
Alexotronic yes i have the oil level sensor problem too, that Yellow oil light comes up 20 seconds after start then disappears after a few seconds. im aware of that problem but im talking about the red oil lamp which stays for 1 second after the first start. my oil level is fine though
What kind of oil are you using, and it could just be the oil pressure sensor starting to go bad. Does the red light flicker at all?
no, it doesnt flicker at all. I'm using Mobil 1 5w30
Then you might just be overthinking it. 5w-30 should not cause any oil pump issues
Being self-employed myself, I think you touched on many important things, but didn't underscore a couple of points enough. First, YOU are the business and that means two very important things. If you aren't personable and you don't come off well, you'll never get any business and if you did you wouldn't get repeat business. Secondly, you can't get sick or injured because you're it. Next to insufficient working capital, the second greatest reason that sole proprietors fail is illness.

I soon hope to open a bigger garage and start a business, but also sell some cars to a dealership. I hope you can assist with any suggestions!
