- We decided to make a video on why we eloped plus some pros/con based on our experience and how it compares a wedding! All of these opinions are our own ! You can feel differently and that’s okay!

Hey y’all! Learn a little bit about us!
Rod and Chelsea were high school sweethearts and have been together since 2011. Once they attended college, they were in a long distance relationship that had its good, (and bad days). While in their senior year of college, Chelsea found out she was pregnant. Amelia A.K.A Milly was born in 2016. In 2017 Chelsea and Rod got engaged and in 2018 decided to elope in Asheville, NC!
We are a young family trying to figure out life together! We want to bring you on our everyday journey of young married life with a toddler. We hope that our videos make you smile and promote each and every one of you to live the life you want to live! Subscribe!

I’m choosing an elopement due to family reasons. I grew up in a disconnected family, I never really saw my family or talked to them and they never did the same with me. I wanted my close friends and family and that was it. I didn’t want judgment I didn’t want people to feel entitled to my life or their own opinions about my marriage. And that was it. I wanted it to be happy and about the love of me and my partner and I don’t think that’s something I’ll ever regret

I don’t like people! So this is perfect lol I truly don’t want anyone else’s negative vibes. People usually just judge and I feel like I have to invite them not because I want too. So this is great! Thanks for sharing

Eloped 22 years ago (cold November Saturday in the basement of the Cook county building in Chicago ... just us)... been home owners for 22 years ... paid for 100% wedding and 100% house out of our own pockets ... rarely argue ... excited about our retirement in a few years. Eloping worked for us. ... oh, no one was pregnant ... we got asked that allot!

Omg you and I are so alike. While planning I was getting so depressed worrying about everyone’s opinions and needs. My anxiety was so all over the place. Being a Libra I am also very indecisive. We just cancelled out wedding for this year and are planning a wedding 6 months for now and only have our children and parents and our dogs. That way the focus will be on us and less stress

I dont have a boyfriend but when I do get married I to would like to get elope on a beach, jump the broomstick, go get something to eat, then hop on a plane to Deutschland or a trip across Finland/Sweden/Norway

Im the midst of planning I was getting too stressed out and had a panic attack. I literally couldn’t breath and started crying. My fiancé came home and we just were searching for videos of elopement and came across this one. Your video gave us the confidence and reassurance to do what WE wanted to do. So we cancelled our venue and yes we los $2k but honestly that’s less than everything would’ve cost us. We are now eloping in a beautiful garden in poconos July 1st. We will only have our parents and siblings 6 people. This feels right to us. Thank you so much for sharing your advice because you really are helping people! Now I can’t wait to get married in three weeks
I love this. Now that I’m getting older I’ve been thinking about weddings and what they’re all about. And I thought when I get married I want it intimate and about me and my future spouse. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this way! Loved the story ♥️

We're eloping next weekend. There were so many people I didn't want to invite and it was just getting stressful and messy so when the pandemic hit it was like a blessing. Oops! We can't invite anyone and we gotta stay a long way away from the officiant and witnesses anyway so...lol...

Getting married this Wednesday 5-20-20. It will only be us in light of what’s happening and I’m happy to do so. Saved money and it’s kinda cool to say we were married during corona lol .

My fiancé and I are considering eloping because well... money lol is a big reason. Plus, we want to have children in the near future. We want a house and a dog. And honestly, I love my family and friends, but combined we have a ton and that would be soooo expensive! At this point, I'm not concerned with how people may feel (I may take that back later) because I just want my fiancé and I to go into our marriage without the financial burden of a wedding.

My fiancé and I live a very secluded/private life I’ve been feeling guilty and bad about not having anyone show up, especially with the date being so close but after watching your video it’s really reassuring, love your story and great video ♥️

I've just never been into the idea of a big wedding and I hate being the center of attention. I'm sooo excited for my outdoor elopement ceremony though 😊

Thinking about getting eloped with my fiancé on my birthday Nov 3 2020.
I’m not feeling the whole wedding thing anymore. We don’t like a lot of tension I just want to be with him that’s it.

I don't quite understand this. I thought elopement meant that you went off and got married, period, but they are talking about elopement "packages", cakes, inviting people, etc. It sounds more like a mini-wedding.
It's like the word "elopement " has taken on a whole different meaning 😂😂

Congrats on your union! It was a very amazing and smart choice for YOUR wedding. I don't see myself having a huge wedding at all. If anything it can be in a backyard with more of my man's side of the family there. Lol I have no problem with "hurting anyone's feelings or disappointing them"....they will get over it. Wedding planners and having everything perfect is unrealistic!

I am eloping. I’m 7months pregnant and my fiancé and I are private. It is making it about the marriage and not the wedding day. Our big reveal will be at the babyshower

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to elope. I used to love reading novels where the couples eloped. I think I want to do that with my man. It feels right to me
We are considering eloping in the Fall in Colorado. I agree, weddings are expensive and I rather invest that money elsewhere. We will have a true elopement just us two because we don't want the stress of people saying they going and don't etc. love you story
How did it work out for you? We are wanting to elope but invite a few people, I'm worried with some folks saying they'll come and never show lol

My fiancé and I plan on having the chaplain on post marry us later this year and then Dec 2021 we plan on having a “ceremony” and reception with our immediate family and a few friends. We just have too many family members that are high risk for COVID to do anything this year.
OH man that is our plan too. Getting married this month and a big thing for everyone in December 2021.
Even small wedding will get out of control real fast is too much stress

My wife and I wanted to go to New Orleans and elope but thanks to COVID and a nosy aunt it turned into a micro backyard wedding. I hated it! She promised me the New Orleans trip for our vow renewal
That’s what my husband and I did we only spent $175 for everything and yes it was a very intimate time cause it was only us two and we did get married in South Carolina Myrtle Beach 😆

Nataly Escobar Depending on where you live you can get a Notary the one I used was 125 and the marriage license was 50 also when you fill out your marriage license ask them do they do courthouse weddings and if they say no usually they use a notary and it goes from 50-175 just depending on who you use

I'm curious as to the location for the actual ceremony?
My man and I are both hungarian living together in Ireland and recently we started thinking that maybe we shouldn't go home to Hungary to get married, even if both our families and all of our close friends are there, its just too stressful and we don't need nobody trying to organise things like they wanted (my mom tends to do that, her opinion is that you have to invite everyone who's family because then noone will get hurt, etc.. Even if those family members stress me out😅) so we're considering getting married here, maybe flying our parents, sibling and 1-1 of our best friends out... We can celebrate in Hungary after. Covid justifies this really well, I'm not great with confrontation anyway 😂

I’m 18 I know I’m young and I got my life ahead of me but my boyfriend (age 19) and I are really in love with each other and we talked about marriage but I’m in a position where my family thinks marriage is a bad thing at this age. +JO JO Hey! I was a lot like you at 18! My husband and I were together since we were 16 and we were sooo in love, but we still had other goals before we wanted to get married like going to school and creating a good life for ourselves! Y’all can still be together & in love without getting married right away. I also have a problem with finding my voice because I can be a bit of an introvert at times! If y’all are dead set on getting married, make a pros & cons list and if the pros outweigh the cons, y’all are technically adults and can get married. At the end of the day, be rational about marriage because it’s hard work and every day is not fun lol. Ultimately, do what makes you both happy! ❤️

There are some couples that have been married since they were 18 years old and have been together for 40 plus years now. If you all feel it's right, then go with it but know that marriage takes work, maturity, respect and communication. There's people older than you that don't know wth they're doing when it comes to marriage so imo young people should get married if they want to. Blessings to you both, finding love is such a special thing.
I just feel like I will have to elope because my mom just hates when I am happy, so even having a boyfriend/fiance will have to be a secret.

Ashley Cannon hey girl! It was a little tough, I’m not going to lie! We would stop and our photographer would find beautiful spots to take pictures along the way up! Unfortunately it was super foggy when we hiked, so we never reached the very top like originally planned, but we still got awesome pics nonetheless! It was also pretty cold when we went too, so that didn’t help anything either 😅 congrats to you and your fiancé btw ! ♥️

Tia R We decided to dine at Avenue M & they were more than accommodating! We loved their rustic decor, the food was great and the staff were so nice! They allowed us to stay a little after they closed & even gave us complimentary champagne for a toast!

I totally understand the appeal of eloping. I'm normally a minimalist,.so one would think I'd elope, but I still want a big wedding. ❤ I just want all the traditional Bells and whistles and i wanna spend all the money. I want the big shebang ok!

So our elopement package was right around $1000 I believe and that included officiant services, coordination, a customized cake, a bottle of champagne, flowers that matched the colors I wanted,etc. The website we used specialized in elopements so they had a lot of different packages! Thank you for your video. I’ve been engaged for a while but I’m stressed out about having a wedding as my partner’s dad is full of ego and white privileged, may as well look down to females according to his daughter. He’d talk to me like I can’t speak English at all and say strange things to me such as “ happy English new year” ( I’m Asian) etc etc. Due to global pandemic my parents have never met my partner’s parents in person , so they have no clue how ridiculous he is. Im so stressed when thinking not only I may have to put up with the stupid thing he probably will say in my own wedding but also have to translate that to my parents. I was upset as giving up a wedding and go elopement is the only solution if I want to avoid that 😢

My wife and I recently eloped and honestly, I could'nt have asked a better and more comfortable ceremony.
I am pretty liberal when it comes to wedding and never liked the BS of Trad/Mainstream weddings that the media swoon about. Especially when you have family that like to micro-manage.
A wedding is the beggining of a marriage. Not just a day to celebrate your marriage.
