Great visuals! I would love to try this but the rate of ppl trying every year keeps growing, means ill very likely never try cuz i aint about to be 5 miles above sea level in a traffic jam of ppl, thats just increasing the odds of dying 10 fold! So salute to the ppl making this amazing attempt! Cheers be safe
Name any highest peak in the galaxy this won’t eventually happen to.. once humans get their hands on it. Some things aren’t possibilities but eventualities. Humans are parasites, like our cousins the cockroach.
That's a very expensive queue. Funny, didn't see anyone carrying down empty cylinders, garbage or waste. It should be mandatory for all climbers to bring their own waste off the mountain on penalty of a huge fine.
Absolutely stunning, amazing footage of an incredible landscape. Really shouldn't be that many people up there desecrating sacred land, it's just another joyride for rich, untrained dumbasses. The sherpas are the legends, routinely climbing up and down these mountains with heavy loads as if it's nothing. Huge respect.
“What was it like climbing Everest?” “Didn’t really ‘climb’. More like steep hiking attached to a rope”. “What was the most challenging part of hiking Everest?” “Squeezing past other people in line!”
I watched into death zone again. Crazy documentary. All those sherpas cleaning the mountain. It’s so incredibly sad that, that’s what it’s come to. That was like 10 years ago. It does almost seem disrespectful to Chomolungma.
Great footage. I feel I have achieved it, in the comfort of my own sofa. My highest was Charaung La, near Reckong Peo. Then Mt Blanc, looks like a gently sloping version of this with plenty of atmos. I hate queuing. If you have to queue everywhere it’s time to abandon ship.
Mount Everest earns its name to Everest...ever resting place for the dead . This majestic great mountain is a place of glory and disasters...it's great joys and sorrows...it's a great challenge and strength as well as immerse weaknesses and great suffering to conquer the world's highest Mountain. I pray for the safety of all climbers. May the departed souls rest in peace 🙏
Omg, this video (if you know what to look for) completely supports the fact that many of the clients are completely out of their element! Having lived my life and raising a family in the mountains I find this video extremely scary, as because you have money doesn’t mean you should be climbing mountains! None of these clients would survive (no matter what support they have from the Sherpa)! From not being able to put on a harness or crampons, to tying the basic rope knots, changing oxygen cylinders, to moving around other climbers on fixed ropes. Sad, & extremely concerning!
If anything would put me off climbing Everest its this video ( apart from $$$ and health that is) But spending $60 k to be in an endless queue? Forget it, if you are just after climbing experience try Nuptse or K2.
Seeing and witnessing the massive numbers of permits dished out to the climbers these days is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Money money money is all that the Nepalese government are interested in, DEPLORABLE.
How do you lower the permit count or the que line with the limited timeframe to even summit this mountain you know. Is there a fair way to even do it. That line waiting is crazy none the less not sure what to say for lack of better words
Unfortunately Nepal , as an impoverished country is simply using a natural resource to generate income. Not a ton different than Canada with Athabaskan oil or the US exploiting coal.
If people can waist $50k to destroy the pristine mountain and abuse sherpas, they deserve what they get. It’s 2024, and I’m watching this video from my swimming pool in Miami. I’ve officially seen Everest. Risking one’s life to see it in person is just stupid and arrogant at this point.
Hillary & Tenzing would not be proud of the current legacy of what’s happening on Everest now, yes climbers should be allowed to climb the highest peak in the world and the fascination that goes with this, but definitely not like this.
The real problem here is that 80% of these so called “mountaineers” are absolute novices, who have no business being on this sacred mountain. The Nepalese government is cashing in on their enthusiasm to be dragged up to a possible summit attempt by the efforts and efficiency of the Sherpa guides! There is a major disaster/catastrophy waiting to happen here!
How much is 70 meters in feet and inches ? I am 82 years old live in the US and have never used the metric system nor have I known anyone use it. I am a retired RN so I'm not dumb.
Seems like there’s way too many people. I’ve not done this climb and probably never will, not because I don’t want too but it’s out of pocket for me. I would think they’d atleast group people , like 10 to a team or something
Stepping on that ladder to get over a crevasse and one step over a deep crevasse -- is not for me! I might have considered it years ago, but I detest lines and standing belly to back to belly in a line hanging onto a rope is NOT my idea of joy! Besides, I have controlled acrophobia and I learned to fly an aircraft to help that fear and it did, but climbing on a steep mountain where you can fall 3-4k down is a cincher for me not to go there! (I don't have a bucket list anymore since I've accomplished most of what I wished to do, and I'm not a box-checker, there's plenty to keep me entertained right here in my own snowy winter mountains!) It's 92F degrees today, and I'd prefer some snow, but it will come, about the end of October; I can wait!
I see lemmings in a traffic jam at an overcrowded tourist attraction. They pull themselves up on a rope while sherpas carry oxygen behind them. That's not mountain climbing.
This is exactly why so many ppl died up there in 2023. It's all about money. Not about the experience and the beauty. Climb from the Tibet side and I'll be impressed.
,,....imo,,..WTH,......if ever(never) i were to summit this one,,....after the camp overnite,,...I =(me,imo),,,..could not,,would not be able to stop,wait for nothing,...other than the obstacles themselves,,...other humans wouldn't be in that equation,(sherpas excluded),....to plan for years,,make it there,,...and stand in a line,,...,,,,,,,,,,,,,,IM OUT.,,😮wtfuck.

It's not only getting to the top safely, but getting down. I can't imagine how exhausted the climbers are on the way down.
Another example of what mankind does best, wreck everything it can get it's hands on.

Very very nice. Thank you for not having any voiceover. The music fit perfectly and the long passages with only wild sound worked perfect.
Just shut that mountain down.
Agreed!!
Exactly..what’s the point of this mess!

Thanks for this great video!
If I wanted to stand in line and be cold I’d go to wall mart naked at 10pm when they have one check stand open.
Is Walmart open all night?

I used to think this was the ultimate challenge, not its a joke with nothing but human lemmings paying $$ to get to the top or dying.
They should advertise Everest expensive babysitted tourism as 'Visit the highest toilet in the world'
C’est seulement une question d’ego….la pollution de la montagne ils en sont conscients? C’est aussi une question de gros sous pour tout le monde
Leave no trace……………oh never mind.
Lovely. A timeline would have been cool
There's a line up the mountain, you better stay at home, your family won't worry
Do you have a raw raw version without the looping wind sounds? I would like to listen to the actual sounds without the background soundtrack.

Maybe the Nepalese government have a case to answer but the people going up know the score very well so a bit of self- reflection may be in order

No different to any other country capitalising on their assets. It’s called tourism. Don’t be so short sighted.

Great video but seeing these traffic jams, it’s just like inviting disaster!.
Amazing!
Brrrrrrrr🥶
I'm not saying this is something I'd be able to do, but are you truly a mountain climber if you use ladders and ropes that were placed for you?
I’ll give that a nope.
It’s not just about ladders and ropes! That’s like saying formula 1 is just turning a steering wheel.
But seriously, fitness, stamina yes, ability to endure, some nerve, but how much skill does it take to 'tourist climb' Everest?
Hillary & Tenzing would not be proud of the current legacy of what’s happening on Everest now, yes climbers should be allowed to climb the highest peak in the world and the fascination that goes with this, but definitely not like this.
