93brand's grappling underwear are AMAZING under the gi. They stay on well, they're not super see through, they're insanely light and breathable. Senita Athletics makes great shorts and leggings that are squat proof! Lots of their stuff has pockets so better for under the gi, but lots of no-pocket stuff too. I store all my hair stuff in an empty screw-top pomade container! And altoids tin works great too. I keep a small drawstring bag (an old jumprope bag lol) filled with first aid stuff... little cotton rounds to control light bleeding, neosporin, bandaids, and tape. Little travel manicure kit. Flip flops!!
Tape is definitely something I’m missing! I needed it last night too in the middle of a roll, luckily one of my teammates had some lol. And electrolyte packets is a great idea !!
I keep forgetting my mouth piece, too - just put a second one into you bag (and let it sit there) - I always have a "back-up" mouth piece somewhere. Because training and NOT rolling? meh!
Hi! I just started training and it’s been awesome to find a woman on UA-cam who’s videos I can identify with. Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with your sweaty gi after class? I’ve been washing my bag along with my gi after every class and it’s annoying to have to take everything out every time. I’m so paranoid about getting ring worm or something like that!
Hi! That makes me so happy :) I don't have too many suggestions hahah, I definitely just wash my gi after every class. I also like to hang dry them in the sun when I can for freshness and extra cleanliness! I will say after a good amount of time, it may start to smell even after you wash it, so that's when I soak it for a couple hours in oxyclean and then put it through a wash - it helps to get rid of any trapped bacteria. :)
I absolutely hate having to pack my bathroom bag every day for training! (For the shower) I have to shower immediately afterwards for my skin and use specific products (also because of sensitive skin) and so I have to do it every day Mon to Thurs. I should probably just double up my products........... love your vids x
Just started BJJ . I’m slowly learning and the only female in class has been a big thing. Seen your tattoo how long did you wait if you had to from getting a tattoo and going back to class
Yay congrats on your new journey (the best journey!) :D Being the only female can be so tough - if you can find a school that has more girls to visit occasionally, that would be SO helpful. For the tattoo, I waited just a couple days, then covered it for about a week when I would train.
@@kimberlykinch Thank you for the tip! The gym is small and family like. I really do love it. There are girls there however they are all advanced. Its stepping out of my comfort zone but at least the guys are nice. They don't kill me and don't treat me like a delicate flower lol The first day they did but after I came back they have been working with me. I'm so glad I found your channel. Can't wait to watch more and grow within this community!
@@shamelesslyvero3738 The advanced girls are the best people to roll with for ya! They'll help you so so much - it can be intimidating, but you'll get a little better each time :)
I love this channel its helped me so much also which do you pefer to use on your 🩸 pads or tamp. This is one thing that holds me back on doing my classes :(
I'm soo glad, thank you for watching! I always just use tampons, but I know some women who also wear a pad along with the tampon on the heavier days. I just always make sure to have a fresh tampon right before class starts - TMI but whatever! lol. And for me, never a white gi on day 1 and 2! I've also heard LOTS of women love menstrual cups for training - I've thought about it but haven't tried it yet.
I have a weird, specific question. When wearing leggings with compression shorts underneath, do you wear underwear too? I'm considering starting to wear compression shorts under my leggings, but with underwear too I feel like that would be so many clothes to be wearing! Huge fan of your videos! 🤙
I don’t! Totally, way too many layers lol. Unless I have my period, then I might add that extra layer just to make myself feel better lol. But if not then it’s just the compression shorts under leggings. :)
I've always used Shock Doctor because they were sold at the Modells down the road from my house hahah and they always did the job. But I've seen people recommend getting a custom fit from a dentist.

I just discovered your channel and I'm so excited, I just got my purple belt! Love this video!
I'm so glad you're here! Thank you for watching :) And CONGRATS on your purple belt - huge accomplishment!!
I always have some kind of KT tape for injuries and covering cuts or mat burn. I also have electrolyte packets.

Ah good thinking !

A Stinkybag for is helpful to keep your worn/sweaty dogi from ickying up your gym bag. You can also wash the dogi while it's still in the Stinkybag.

LOL at the chapstick, I was cracking up
Congrats on your purple belt! I think last i saw.you were blue. Awesome awesome.
Thank you!! I got it not too long before covid hit, so after that time off I now finally feel like I'm growing into my belt a little lol.

How do you keep your hair healthy in bjj it’s my biggest worry in starting again. 😥
I'm not really sure, I don't do much :( hahah. I just train with a tight ponytail and braid most times. I'm sorry that's not super helpful! Lol.
Yeap I am in between gum and mints- some gum doesn’t hold too well in the heat of a car

@@kimberlykinch Thanks so much for getting back to me! Great advice for this newbie. Thank you!! 🙂🙂
Someone put ju jitsu videos to the song Roll Out--so for this video I'm humming to myself "what's in that BAG what you got in that BAG"
Do you have a mouthpiece recommendation? I assume they come in different sizes?
I've always used Shock Doctor because they were sold at the Modells down the road from my house hahah and they always did the job. But I've seen people recommend getting a custom fit from a dentist.
Can you do some jiu jitsu tutorial videos?
I can 😀
Can you do submissions from the guard and the reverse triangle choke from bottom side control?
Thank you for wearing your compression shorts.
Lol yes! Gotta keep things PG here 😅
Haahahhaah
