"It used to be yours now they are theirs" 😂😂😂 Anne Bancroft is a legend.
love the movie but not Anne Bancroft's ugly NY accent
Loved this movie. I lived in NYC in the early 70s. Great nastalgia
Great movie!
Jack Lemmon, wonderful actor.
Classic movie, two wonderful actors in the leads. This is one o my all time favourites. And the ending always makes me smile.
The performances and writing are stellar. If you have ever lived in NYC these things still happen. RIP Neil Simon. Thanks for making us laugh.
I just watched this movie twice yesterday. It's super funny. A story about a couple trying to be adults. I've been on an Anne Bancroft kick, so I've been watching all of her films in her catalog. This might be my new favorite underrated Bancroft movie, along with The Slender Thread. It seemed like she always did really well in double-acting performances. She did it in The Miracle Worker with Patty Duke, The Graduate with Dustin Hoffman, The Slender Thread with Sidney Poitier, and now, The Prisoner of Second Avenue with Jack Lemmon.
my acting teacher assigned me edna’s script from the robbery scene so im going to watch this movie to really embrace her character and from this trailer i can tell this movie is really going to make me laugh LOL
You mean "I'm going to copy A. Bancroft, note-for-note...:
You mean I have to walk up 14 floors?!!
Rest In Peace, Neil Simon.
Priceless.
great movie!
Great comedy with two acting legends at their best!
I watched The Prisoner full movie here twitter.com/e91eea2a0e126af9d/status/824453662466404352
I watched it twice yesterday! Very funny! Also relatable if you live in NY. I don't! But, I know friends who live (or lived) in NYC, where these issues happen. New York was a mess back in the 70s, from what I understand. However, it seemed like people just lived through it. I love Anne Bancroft. She was great in this film. Jack Lemmon STUNNED me. The scene where he freaks Edna out when he really starts losing it and decides to cut open the package with the shovel AMAZED me.
Great movie. I lived in NYC in the early 1970s. This movie is dead on. I miss the nostalgia. I live in Florida now. Different world 🌴
@@tjl5419 I live in Florida too! Which city?

Living in NY is such a love/hate relationship
I absolutely love this film. It was on TCM the other night, so hysterical so New York City. 😂
I can't help but think this movie should have been called "Save the Tiger: The Sequel."
Nice trailer, thanks!
love this movie, I use to live in NYC, it was hell
Love this movie!
💟💟
I just couldn’t get through it. Yes the acting and writing is good, but I can’t take the constant yelling and complaining, I just don’t find it funny. I heard enough of it growing up at home I guess.
Hello to Jason Isaacs.
And to Fairport Convention.
And to old chuckles Branagh.
And his outrageous moustache!
